Hi everyone, we are booked into the Encore for 4 nights in September,I know it is a bit of a trek to mid-strip from there and was wondering what is available in terms of public transport? We are both in our 20s so dont mind walking but I can imagine the heat might make it a lot more difficult.

Dead easy-the Deuce bus runs up and down the Strip so you can hop on and hop off . There's also an express service with limited stops also run by the transit authority-but they keep changing the name of it . Use that one (same pass as the Deuce) when you know you want to skip a few stops or if going to the Outlets or Freemont Street.

All hotels have taxi stands too -if you don't want to walk there's absolutely no need to.

Morning all. We are looking for some advice on car hire. Whats the deal with the different insurance types in the USA? We are planning on collecting the car at LAX then after a couple of days in LA driving to Vegas and returning the car there after 7 days total. Ideally we want the mustang convertible (I know you can't guarantee this) but put off by when I look on dollar it states that the roof, wheels, windows aren't covered? Is this always the case? Can you get cover?

not the case with Carhire 3000 i think . Zero excess for everything i thought ( but not 100% sure)

your much better off ringing them up direct and asking a human being over the phone .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

We normally go to the one on Sunset - it's right by Sunset Station...there's an In-and-Out burger in the parking lot...there's a Best Buy in the shopping centre across the street and Galleria Mall (non-outlet) is also just up the road.:)

I went to one close to the strip with a Krispy Kreme in the parking lot. I have no idea where it was though :)

And to get back on topic -I always looks for almond M&Ms (can't stand the peanut ones)

I LOVE THESE TOO! Last trip, the M&M's store only had 1 bag in the whole shop! Managed to track some down at Walgreens up near the Venetian, or is it CVS. Well, whatever the one is outside the Venetian :rotfl: How can the M&M's shop only have 1 bag!

ps - didn't like the pretzel ones _pale_

Peanut butter M&M's are the way forward!!! We have half a pack left to last us 'til we're out there in July.:(

How did you manage to open a bag and not eat them all :rotfl:
Oh, and I loved the raspberry limited edition ones they had 2 or 3 years ago although everyone else hated them. More for me I said :D
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

hang on...they make pretzel M&Ms? How do I not know of this when chocolate covered pretzels are, in my world, the food of the gods?!

Which reminds me, I need to add dark chocolate Pretzel Flipz to my list...I only ever buy them when I see them randomly somewhere...they need to be an official part of the list so I always remember to buy some.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

When we were there last time I brought back,

Jiffy corn bread mix, the cake mixes..they are so cheap...I think about 89cents or something daft like that, pumpkin flavoured coffee, tons of really wierd sweets for my girls...they love Nerds and I have requests for them this trip too.

With having the kitchen this time round I seriously cannot wait to try it out, walking around the supermarkets is my idea of heaven.:happylove

I'll be buying some of the amazing salads, seafood, eggo waffles, Old Bay seasoning, oooh alsorts.
Try the Wholefood store at Town Square. They have a really nice delli section where you just fill cups and plates with stuff and pay at the till for it. Stews, soups, salids, begals with a fill yourself section, complete dinners, breakfast stuff, etc. We load up and take it all back to the room.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I even asked them to check if they had any in the store room and they didn't. Were waiting for a delivery! Shocking. I expect the loose ones were there, but I prefer them all bagged up.....

Cherry Pepto-Bismol and AW diet Rootbeer. Thanks ferf for reminding me about the macca cheese. If it ain't bright yellow, it ain't real. Might give the BBQ sauce a try.
