Thanks, but still unsure if I have tried this in the US. is it a bread or cake or something else.

It isnt the biscuits you get with biscuits and gravy for breakfast, is it?

I dont want to miss out:D

    mmmm...biscuits and gravy.

OK, people, stop...I can't even get proper sausage here to MAKE some sausage gravy to go on my biscuits which I cannot buy here either, but could make as they now stock Bisquick in my Sainsburys.

No, corn bread is different thing entirely...it's bread made of cornmeal...some versions are more sweet than others, but definately not a cake as such...we have ours with chili usually.

oh, god...they list hushpuppies on that link duchy posted...I really may die of American food starvation soon.

Ok, my husband pointed out that some places (we're thinking Cracker Barrell) serve corn muffins (basically same thing as corn bread but different format) along with biscuits rather than a bread basket...so...you COULD have corn bread and biscuits in the same context.

I don't know how to word this without it sounding like spam (:o) but I live just around the corner from the Stateside Candy Company (Americansweets.co.uk) and yes, it is a lot more expensive than the states, but it's proved very useful when stocking up between visits. Al, the owner, is forever getting new stuff in, and it's not just sweets - he has a grocery section too. It is online, but they've also got a little shop (where I have spent far too much money since it opened!)

I just need to get Al to stock Popcorn Indiana and I'll be in heaven.

Hi everyone, we are booked into the Encore for 4 nights in September,I know it is a bit of a trek to mid-strip from there and was wondering what is available in terms of public transport? We are both in our 20s so dont mind walking but I can imagine the heat might make it a lot more difficult.
