MayI don't play table games in Vegas but one night a friend persuaded me to play Texas Hold 'em with her. She played the fluffy female -made a few beginners "mistakes"....and then mopped up. Men are soooooooooooo predictable
Shopping the next day was fun

JulyI had look at Tripadvisor and found Desert Rose and Staybridge Suites. They are both in our budget with kitchen, microwave and breakfast. swimming pool and still just 10 min walk to strip:j (Staybridge even with balcony)
What do you think? have you stayed in any of those?
We are now deciding between those two suite properties near the strip and Monte Carlo..
Staybridge is absolutely top notch - we stayed their last year and are returning this year as part of our honeymoon (we could go anywhere in Vegas and also stayed at the Encore last year but choose the Staybridge over everywhere else). Lovely and quiet, great pool area with BBQ, cabana's and two jacuzzi's and best of all free (and yummy) breakfast.
Ok, so it's off strip but we always have a car in order to go Walmart/Gun Store and further afield.:staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -

I must either be very lucky or look old and haggered, as at 28years old, the last week in vegas i was carded ONCE - i always have it with me, and i drink a LOT! Trip before that twice if that....rorylando45 wrote: »Sta Travel could offer me return flights for around £665 during our two windows (4th-10th July, 6th-19th August) which was at least 100 pounds cheaper than anything I could find online. They also gave me a 20 pound off voucher if we book within 2 weeks.
However, with eBookers I have found a package for £827.89 per person which includes (indirect) flights from Heathrow to Vegas, and 7 nights at Tropicana. Can also get 6% cashback through Quidco which brings the deal down to £778.22 per person. I think this is a better deal than booking flights with Sta, then hotel separately. Because I don't think we will be able to find a room on the strip at a 4* hotel for £226 for the week.
Thoughts?
I think my only word of caution is dont take the quidco as a given, i use it, and love it, but read sooo much about transaction not tracking etc, and have an ongoing issue with a £35 transaction, read the mse thread here to see things can easily be declined for near enough no reason - so personally i dont think id factor that in the comparison and treat it as a welcome home bonus if you get it.0 -
MarchNo idea if this would interest anyone, but presale starts today via Ticketmaster.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

JuneShow tickets ?
I need to wait until April or May to see the shows available in June, and naturally, there only gonna be at the Trop..... But free is better than 2 for 1 (dont really like shows anyway, i just going to get married, sunbath all day and eat nice munchies on the night and lose my money gamblingand jump off the Stratosphere..
An extract from the 4th email from the guest relations manager at the Trop...
""""""""""
Thank you for being such a raving fan that you are helping us promote the Trop! Any of your friends that need assistance with a great rate, please feel free to give them my information and tell them just to drop your name and I will ensure that they are taken care of personally.
As you get closer to your arrival date, please keep an eye on our shows and let me know about 2 weeks prior to your arrival what show you would like to see. I can offer you three tickets happily! If you need a few more, I would be happy to take care of those for you as well! """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Just to note, i didnt rave about the place, i just said a few nice words in the email whilst telling her the 2 rooms are booked with a UK broker (i got cashback from ebookers and Netflights for it), and i didnt pay for either (my dad did kinda!)
Why am i staying here ? as my budget for the 1 week doesnt allow me to stay anywhere else! (This has worked out inc resort fee to be £352 for 7 nights, which is still £52 more than i wanted to pay anyway). I look at places, then TOTAL prices, then check direct with hotel (was unaware of how to get F&F), then uk big brokers, then uk smaller brokers, calculate the total myself (resort fee), then go looking at reviews and pics, and then tripadvisor, spend 20 to 30 mins reading, if happy, i book
So whether a hotel offers me somthing which is crap, or good even, the fact that you get that kind of service before booking makes it good for me0 -
Marchnvh - Love that offer, but think I'll have to save up and go for the Valentines package in 2045! Just 34 years of saving $1200 should do it.... :rotfl:Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
