MarchNetflights dont mention the resort fee at all, and it will be cheaper to book through UK agents (depsite people saying otherwise on here!),
Agree with photome.
I'm not sure if you're speaking specificaly of Tropicana, but netflights is most certainly not always the cheapest - nor is booking through a UK agent...sometimes, yes...always, hardly.
Simple random test - I checked one hotel, one set of dates - Paris, 6th June for 7 nights.
Harrah's F&F - $739.20...£457.99 at current exchange rate
Netflights - £568.40
That's 24% more expensive going via Netflights...or £110 for those who want to look at it that way.
It pays to check multiple options...many have found the higher end hotels cheaper at cityandshow, etc...some have found flights + hotel to be good deals against pricing up separately...but to suggest that booking through UK agents is always cheaper is just silly.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MayHas anyone ever eaten at Andre's at the Monte Carlo? Last trip we went to Alize at the palms part of the same group, this was recomended by Luci I think and we really enjoyed it. Looking for something special for our anniversary again.0

MayFerf, I think most of us on here have enough experience of booking Vegas hotels to know where to get the best rates
I have rarely seen offers for the Tropicana so that might explain why a UK agent might undercut going direct, but then again I've never seen anyone on here, or anywhere else for that matter, actually stay at the Trop.0 -

I had a r.com cert for Andre's years ago, but got an email saying it was closing for refurbishment and it has never appeared on r.com since it reopened.
We really like Mon Ami Gabi, as long as we can get on the patio. It's much cheaper than Alize, but they are very good at what they do. I love their Filet Mignon with Merlot butter and their warm flourless chocolate cake.0 -
MayExample of booking direct v booking with Netflights. We have 4 nights booked at the MGM in May. Booked direct $367 or £230, booking with Netflights £375. £145 or 63% more expensive.
Oh, and I have 2 for 1 daily buffets and a few other freebies on my deal which you won't get with a UK agent.0 -

Marchhubby had an offer for Wynn/Encore - 2 free nights, so we took them up on it...now we're staying 9 nights at PH (paying for 1)...but the 3rd night we're double booked on a comp at MB and the 6th/7th night double booked at Wynn - opted for Wynn this time instead of Encore, maybe a mistake, but it was a conscious decision. I like that we're south strip one night and north 1 or 2 (not sure yet if we will stay both nights there)...will spread it out a bit. Getting excited now - just over a month!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

MarchI'm going to Vegas from 8th June - 16th June to play a couple of events in the World Series of Poker. My budget is:
£1200 flights (me + gf),
£1200 8 nights hotel (hopefully I can afford a suite in the Venetian, from what I've read)
$2500 entry fee into WSOP
$? spending money for 8 days
Can anyone help me with the last bit? I'll want to eat out for breakfast and dinner every day, grab a sandwich or salad around Rio's hotel at lunch, 4/5 coffees each day and a few beers each evening. £20pp? £50pp? £100pp? £200pp?
Have you played the wsop before? Which of the events are you looking to play? and will you be on your own.
All relevant questions, if it's the NLHE events 18 & 20, there will be in excess of 2,000 runners in each, and it will be manic, walking into the Amazon room will blow your mind, I wouldn't dream of advising on play you must have a game to be going, but you'd be surprised the number of donkeys that will be playing these cheaper events. They will be 3 days of hard grinding, and some 12 hours each day. What you will find is that getting space around you in the breaks will be essential, the dinner break will have most players heading the same way, my tip is to grab a cab out front and nip over to the Gold Coast for your dinner. It's only a 10 minute walk but time is your enemy.
Nice to have a suite in the Venetian but having a room in the Rio will be worth it's weight in gold, especially if you've got someone railing you, 20 minutes before the break they head off and get the boxed lunches and meet you in the room, chill out eat, freshen up and get back into it. Grabbing a hot dog or something in the corridors and just hanging around the venue don't do it for me.
If you're part of a group then it's worth chipping in to share a room as a players lounge, unless your one of the big boys who get to use the stars or FT lounges. Having the room kitted out with refreshments takes the stress out of queues and stuff.
It is always worth having that chill out space.
Tight is right, it's been said many times you can't win it on the first day but you can certainly lose it. Good luck.0 -
MayTen minutes walk from Rio to Gold Coast ?????
You must walk really slowly !
If I was going to grab a cab to escape I'd head for the Palms though
(BTW koloko said 8th-16th so won't be the NHLE if that's the 18th & 20th)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

MarchSugar is opposite the coffee in Morrisons in Cardiff
I was watching the movie Casino the other night, see what your saying about the machines, if they pay out, then they get moved somewhere else, etc etc.... makes sense for the casino i guess.....
Going on the minimum bets that tables do, say $5 or $10 on BJ tables, how does it work with the roulette tables ?
Same as over here ? i ask for $30 worth of chips, which equate to 50c each ? could i play just 1 chip, or would i have to play 20 chips ? (if it were minimum $10 on table)
Ha ha, a 200+ mile round trip for the convenience....hmm I'll think about it!
Only one way to play Roulette, find a quiet table tip the croupier, chat up the pit boss, stand in a row at the end of the table and when they say place your bets pick up your chips, throw them up in the air and play the numbers where they land, it helps to be a bit drunk, it works believe me.
