OctoberHi after some advice /instruction 1st time to Vegas, flying from Heathrow with AA into chicago connecting flight to Vegas we only have 1hr 30 between these.
Do We
1.Go through immigration at chicago
2: Pick up baggage or is it transered Auto to connecting flight
3. Have to change terminals at chicago
Any /All advice would really be welcomed
Thnx in advance
Toddy
Ps Staying at the Bellagio, have we done the right thing ? £774 for 7 nights
1: Yes
2: Pick up bag and walk through door that says connecting flight
after clearing immigration and customs. Give bags to nice men who will just [STRIKE]throw[/STRIKE] place them on a conveyer to be put on the correct onward flight
3: You probably will, but it is pretty easy, and you have plenty of time
4: Seems a good price seeing that it includes Fri/Sat.
Advice: When at O'Hare grab something nice to eat at one of the numerous places. Also when you join the line for security again (you have to do this for your internal flight) go right to the end of the hall, everyone just joins the line that faces them when they get to the terminal and it can take a long time, the ones at the ends are usually empty. You have chosen the best connection schedule, so pat yourself on the backThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
AugustI don't think you can sign up for TR online - I think you can only sign up for their general email list online, but have to sign up at one of their casinos for Total Rewards. Unless they have changed something - where did you sign up?
But really, please don't base your choices on the prospect of comps...that's pretty dangerous. If you're looking at hotels in the group anyway then that's great...but otherwise just be sure you're not choosing where you stay based on an unknown fact.
We stay at their hotels because we like them and can generally stay for free...we've tried other places and are happy at Bally's/Caesars/Paris and hopefully PH since that's where we are staying next time. But others wouldn't stay at an HET hotel if their life depended on it.
I clicked on the TR link on the cesars website and joined fro there, iv got the MY TR page etc but i can only log in with password & email address as opposed to rewards number and pin. Could it be that iv just joined a mailing list section?0 -

Also 6/5 does not effect alot on the odds, it only makes a difference if you hit a natural Blackjack which is assumed once in every 30 hands or twice an hour. IMO people make too much of this 6/5 thing, if you are playing nickle and dime games just pull up a chair and have fun. The advantage of this is that you won't have any "real" players giving you hassle for making the wrong call lol
As for changing the pay tables on JOB machines for different days that would take some doing, the Las Vegas commision has to over see every change in odds that a casino makes. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. I think so - I just tried it and when I sign in using email and password I can see that it says:
Have you recently joined Total Rewards? If yes, click here to combine your itineraries and notifications with your online Total Rewards account.
There's also no 'my offers' section which is normally on the left hand side of the screen.
Looking back, on the page to sign up, it says:
If you are not a Total Rewards member , with just your name and email we can create a page where you can save your reservations , set up notifications and get email. Just sign up on the prior page.
It is a bit confusing, but in the TR FAQ it does say you have to go to one of their casinos to sign up.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchSorry have to disagree here. Full pay is 3/2 not 6/4 on B/J, and ALL casinos on the strip offer these odds. You just have to avoid the games near the entrances and the "pleasure pits"
Also 6/5 does not effect alot on the odds, it only makes a difference if you hit a natural Blackjack which is assumed once in every 30 hands or twice an hour. 3:2 is 6:4 and please tell me where this is available on the strip, because it isn't at stakes less than $25 per hand, there are enough news reports out there as well as blogs bemoaning the fact.
An extract from the wizard of odds:
Many casinos now offer blackjack games in which blackjacks pay off at odds of 6-5 rather than the traditional 3-2 that is, $6 for a $5 bet rather than $7.50 for a $5 bet.
It might not seem like a significant issue to many players, who tend to think, "Hey, I got a blackjack; I'm getting paid anyway."
But that minor adjustment in the odds can make a major dent in a player's bankroll.
Take, for example, a blackjack player who uses proper "basic strategy" meaning he knows when to hit, stand, double down and split. Let's say he bets $10 a hand and plays 100 hands per hour.
At a decent six-deck blackjack game dealt from a shoe such as those at the Palms, the MGM Grand and elsewhere he would lose an average of $2.60 in that hour, according to computer analyses.
At a good single-deck blackjack game such as those at the Las Vegas Club and elsewhere he would lose an average of $1.80 in that hour.
At a game that pays 6-5 for blackjacks, however, our hero can expect to lose more than $14 an hour.
In other words, he will lose his money at least five times more quickly at a 6-5 game than at a shoe game, and eight times more quickly than at an old-fashioned single-deck game.
Whilst it is not straight forward to change an individual machine, it is an eprom in and out, the commission rules don't stop machines being changed, a good casino team can change a bank of machines in 1/2 hour. I've seen it many times in the wee small hours, they also move banks of machines around the casino regularly, just like supermarkets move various key lines around the supermarket, why is the sugar never near the coffee.0 -
MarchAnd the above posts remind me of how much I hate to play blackjack :rotfl:
I'm with ferf, slots should be as easy as hit the button and see what happens and table games shouldn't involve decision making with the exception of what you're betting and how much. The cards and game should take care of itself (excl poker tourneys of course).
Ferf - was it you that has a slot tournament thing with your hubby? Can you remind me how you play this? Want some extra competition going with hubby this yearLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
JuneSugar is opposite the coffee in Morrisons in Cardiff
I was watching the movie Casino the other night, see what your saying about the machines, if they pay out, then they get moved somewhere else, etc etc.... makes sense for the casino i guess.....
Going on the minimum bets that tables do, say $5 or $10 on BJ tables, how does it work with the roulette tables ?
Same as over here ? i ask for $30 worth of chips, which equate to 50c each ? could i play just 1 chip, or would i have to play 20 chips ? (if it were minimum $10 on table)0 -

Any idea when Stripburger Certs usually become available on Restaurant.com. From what I read earlier in thread somewhere I thought it was on the first of the month but I have been checking all morning and they are still showing out of stock. I am travelling on 19th Feb. Hoping to get some before then.0
