Lyndseydee More hugs from here too - if you need shoulders to cry on, or just a plain old rant, you know where we are. xxx
mcculloch - yes, sounds like a plan with your friend. It's tricky to say no without offending, particularly when you have established a routine like that, but in this instance it clearly needs to be gently brought to a halt so well done coming up with that idea.
One UU to report here - a pack of boring old cotton wool. Shampoo and conditioner still going strong annoyingly! Hair now dried/straightened - I'm determined to make a dent in my hair styling products this year, I am really lax about doing anything more with my hair than simply letting it dry naturally, so this evening it's had Frizz Ease heat protection serum, then JF Simply Sleek, and finished with an extremely old T&G Bed Head Shine Junkie, which WAS my HG shine enhancer until they discontinued it. I'll just keep using the one I have left until it's gone now I think, as it really is getting way too old to keep.
I've decided that as well as adding this challenge to my signature, I will also use it as a public statement of my determination to stick to it, so I have put the date I last bought anything toiletry-related. I'll leave the date untouched if I buy anything genuinely needed, but anything unecessary entering the stash will see the date being changed.
Oh, and the lipstick question? If it's a colour that I really REALLY liked, then I would get out every last scrap with a brush, but otherwise it might get fliung when it reached the point of no return on applying from the stick. Lip glosses get binned when I can no longer squeeze any more out of the tube, ditto lip balms in tubes. Stick type lip balms get used until they are completely flat to the base, and pots of Carmex get every single last scrap scraped out!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

welshgirl - Im not trying to corrupt you, honest - but in my two old lush packs (years old) I had two 10% vouchers - as I say, they were YEARS old, (at least 2 - they went out of date in 2008!!) but if you wanted to try the vouchers to see if you can use them,PM me and I'll pop them in the post to you??
Thank you very VERY much but I am going to say NO!!! I am ashamed that i have already bought stuff so need no more temptationI would be interested to see if they work though!
I like this thread, all nice and friendly - need to stop checking it every 20 mins though:rotfl:

Moving to a "Strawberry feels forever" massage bar now

I got one of these a few months ago but I'm abit baffled about it. Hence why it's still on the shelf. Do you need someone to massage it in?:hello:No more toiletries challenge :T

Ladies, we are FOURTEEN pages into this thread in THREE days! *Faints*
With mouths these sizes, quite frankly it's a wonder we don't use up more toothpaste/mouthwash/lipstick/lipgloss!
In the first instance, happy New Year everyone!
In the second instance, I've been spending with reckless abandon and bought that £30 S&G kit from Boots with the RRP of £80. (STOP SHOWING ME BARGAINS YOU LOT!)
Secondly, I've been having a massive argument with my bedroom, resulting in my decluttering areas generally considered too cluttered for human habitation. This has meant that I have discovered more toiletries that I had kind of forgotten about. I mean, I knew that I had one or two small gift sets tucked away for emergencies, but I don't think I remember quite as much as I have found:
Found and thrown out:
1 bottle Spa bath gel
1 bottle Boots ye olde Victorian style hand cleaner
Half an old bottle lavender hand/body lotion
Found and giving to nephew/neice:
Cute soap set containing 5 sheep soap (mummy, daddy and three babies) + flannel
Cute 5 set of glycerin soap from The Body Shop containing endangered animals
Found and donated to general household toiletries collection:
Set of 6 small Coronation Street handsoaps
Set of 3 beautiful swan soaps
Wicker basket of 6 small, handsoaps in variety of colours/fragrances
Bottle of talc
3 part set of soaps (2 halves of box and teddy bear that goes in)
Found and to be used up:
7 BEAUTIFUL Lush-style small bath-bombesque things from an amazing French soap shop called 'Nous Savons Tout' ('We Know/Soap Everything' - whatta pun! :j)
1 Lush bath bomb
1 bottle Boots banana bubble bath
2 sachets Boots Oil of Evening Primrose bath grains
1 large sachet Boots SPA detoxifying bath grains
1 bottle Seavite Seaweed Firming & Toning Body Lotion Complex
1 bottle Seavite Seaweed Bath & Shower Gel
1 bottle Escentiel Moisturing Body Lotion
1 bottle Baylis and Harding Floral Bouquet Moisturising Hand & Body Lotion (OMG I didn't realise this company was this old - the packaging is ancient! - I thought they only recently cam about and they do trendy Molton Brownesque packaging!)
1 tube Cerruti Image Bath & shower Gel
1 tube Cerruti Image Luxury Body Lotion
1 50ml Sanctuary Body Butter
1 75ml Sanctuary Foaming Bath Soak (Broke up old set for those 2.)
1 50ml Botanics Softening Body Wash
1 50ml Botanics Nourishing Body Butter
1 75ml Botanics Luxurious Bath Elixir (Broke up old set for those 3.)
1 M&S Fallin' Leaves Bath Foam
1 M&S Fallin' Leaves Body Lotion
1 Body Shop Warming Japanese Saki Bath Gel
1 Nivea Pampering Oil Shower Gel
4 l'Occitane Verbena minis
1 washy puff
1 small vanilla candle
To be honest, that means I not have a truly  amount of stuff. I'd be seriously tempted to sell a lot of this on Ebay, but some of it is so old I wouldn't dare. I'm just going to make a real effort to use it up. A lot of the bath stuff hasn't been used simply cos I don't take baths very often anymore. I still find it strange that you can often find bath products in gift sets, which aren't even bath/shower gels, since I assume that most people generally take more showers than baths now (a lot of people are even going as far as having baths taken out of their houses for wetrooms etc.) This has definitely scared me off buying anything in the Body Shop January sale as I was finding reasons to convince myself about the body scrubs/butters being very good value.
Does anyone know if I can just use bath foam/gel etc. as a shower gel? I mean, there can't be adverse effects, can there - does it just mean there won't be as many bubbles or something equally trivial?
Oh yeah - I threw away a bottle of Ambre Solaire spray on suntan lotion as it was too old to be useful against developing snowtans!)Please call me 'Pickle'

Well you can get someone to massage it in if you want but most of the time, I just use it as body lotion after a shower at night. Though sometimes get DH to massage by back with it.

Mir Argan Oil
Jacks, I was bought a small bottle of Argan oil as a present. Do you just use it for moisturising, or for any of the oil cleansing methods mentioned on other threads? And how expensive is it to replace? Don't want to get hooked then find oot's £100/bottle to replace as I'm told it's not cheap. Please call me 'Pickle'

:wave:evening/morning? ladies
wow there's a lot to catch up on already!
Alton towers -well done on deciding to stop smoking, good luck with this,:T
mcculloch 29- I agree with everyone else's comments about your situation with your friend, you are obviously a very kind natured person but your friend is taking advantage of this - good luck and I hope you get things sorted out,
lynseydee - big hugs, I am so sorry to hear your news, things are obviously very difficult for you at the moment, try and stay strong and look after yourself, xx
I have my first uu's of the year to report:
pantene bouncy curls hairspray - wiba? no, I found this made my hair feelm quite 'hard', unfortunately I have another tin of pantene (different variety though) still in the stash
estee lauder revelation, this was absolutely lovely to use but I have so many creams/lotions to get through that I won't be buying any more for a very looooong time.
p.s.trudij - I ocasionally get my eyebrows threaded and I don't find it painful at all, I can't stand the pain of waxing though! I guess everybody's different0 -
I should imagine it'd be fine - it's just more or less the same ingredients, but with different quantities.
 That will make using it all up so much easier. :beer:Please call me 'Pickle'

Such a fast moving thread! I've only caught up to page 11 so far!Queen_of_NO_MATTER_WHAT wrote: »keep us posted, defo be one of the best glitches I've heard of if it works...and I think you should share them out if you do get them...I know how many you ordered

LOL! Will keep you posted. I would share them out... but I don't want to add to your stashes :rotfl: xoxoxoAlton_Towers wrote: »For me personally hoarding and buying for the sake of buying stems from when I had little or no money. So out of fear of running out of things I would stock up on showergels, shampoos etc just because I could. It kind of became a comfort blanket knowing that if god forbid I was out of a job or had no money for whatever reason I could at least have a little luxury. Also thinking it was a bargain buying stuff on bogof etc added to it. Thankfully I now am breaking this habit!
Its definitely worth thinking back what could have started it and the worst thing is we dont even realise we are doing it! Thank god for MSE giving me a kick up the backside! :T
Same for me, weird isn't it! But understandableI've just gone through and rejigged my list and in a year my toiletries have gone from 522 to 497 with 154 of those items being new in 2010, although 100 of those items are tea lights.
Might take me a little longer to use stuff up this year as my husband told me on Saturday that he doesn't want to be with me anymore. Some of the items above are his which I need to take off my list but will do that when I get round to sorting his stuff out.
