No Buying Toiletries in Jan 2011 !!!!

Oh dear. 8 more ins. I stockpiled some toiletry sets (Boots Extracts, The Sanctuary and Royal Jelly) a while back for Christmas and birthday presents but the friends I bought them for never bothered to make any plans to meet up and I was fed up with always doing the running so I didn't bother either. We've no plans to meet anytime soon so I'm thinking rather than let the nice sets go to waste, why not use them myself? Other people in the household will use the bath products (I can't use them) but I can use the body butters, body lotions and body washes. So that's 8 ins unintentionally.ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0

evening all
I hope you're having a good weekend with lots of lovely pampering.
1 UU to report - finished an Umberto Giannini Spa rituals conditioner today, this smells gorgeous but unfortunately wasn't that great a conditioner so I won't be buying again, xx0 -

I use shower gel as bubble bath - it usually bubbles just as well but a whisk with my hand helps it along too0 -
Hello all, am feeling proud as no more ins here! Loads of outs, but not ness in a good way... I have thrown out an eye cream and a lotion that both smell baddddddddddddd, can't really review them! Have been using Avon Botanicals for about a week but my skin seems to hate them - I have weird lumpy bits now which sting when I use the moisturisers so I am fairly sure they are the culprits - have tried a Simple moisturiser and it has cleared up loads so that may be 2 more in the bin (day and night cream). To be fair all these things are pretty old but it feels very un mse to throw stuff, hmmmmm
Also feeling depressed as I read in another thread they are similar to Liz Earle C&P - I was planning on trying this when I have used up stash and saved enough to do so - anyone know if they are related?
Finally (sorry lots of waffle!) I have decided to stop counting my £2 use up money in my sig - I am still putting it in but I want a surprise when I open the piggy!
Hope you are all well xDFW Nerd #1310 -
Thanks for the reminder re this product, I remember you recommending a couple of months ago and am intending to give it a go at some point. Just noticed it is on offer at Sainsburys at the moment only £1.48 until 15 February, for anyone who needs to buy you might as well buy at the best price!
Am glad I've seen this post. Am still on look out for HG eye make up remover. Have tried Gatineau, No7 and Simple so far (as before that I used Liz Earle C&P to do the job). Both Gatineau and Simple did not remove it effecitvely (still have the Simple one on the go) and whilst the NO7 one did I found it too greasy.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Evening all
Have UU a Liz Earl handwash. WIBA, maybe, but the bottle is annoying and falls over when you push it
Started L'Occitane liquid soap bottle I got from Bicester Village
I need to buy an eye cream though, something refreshing, and probably a Boots organics one
L'Occitane liquid soaps are my HG - all my family use it. Our favourite is the Verbena one which is on Special Buy at John Lewis at the moment : 2 x 500ml bottles for £20.00. I bought the eco packs last time I was at the outlet as well as they were only £5.60 each with any other purchase (I was making other genuine purchases though as I had run out of handcream and MrM needed his shave cream).Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I popped into The Body Shop today and this was indeed on...there were some genuinely great bargains in. If I hadn't spent a fortune at Boots, I would have happily bought some. They even had bags of 4 big body butters of different flavours for a just £12! It was very hard, but I walked away. :T
That's extremely impressive will power :A.0 -

Bought Karma solid shampoo bar from Lush cos I have wanted to try them for ages.
Went into Lush to buy tea tree water but since it now costs nearly £7  for a bottle I think this might be the last time I get it. I could get 7 bottles of basics boots or supermarket toner for that and prob not see much difference in my skin!
Also was going to use a £5 No 7 voucher to get eye make up remover but this has gone up from £6.50 to £7.75 since last time I bought it and its not worth spending the extra money on IMO.
Everyone is out to get my money it seems!
I'd test the two different toners out side by side if I were you. You would be very surprised. I still prefer Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin tonic over all others I've used. Wanted to try something cheaper as last time I bought LE it was £11.00 (mind you a bottle does last me about 4 months). Bought a Nivea one from the supermarket and applied this to one half of my face and LE to the other. The difference was emense. The Nivea one did not absorb at all but left my skin tingling and feeling tight after application - had to wash it off and then apply LE again. The Nivea one was instantly binned.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Hi all
Footymadgal - Your post made me laugh about Paramount hotels.... I used to work at the head office there and it must have been bought out 5 years ago, if not longer :rotfl::rotfl:
I've been thinking back and I stayed at the Paramount Hotels in Buxton and Oxford. The last one I stayed at was in Cheltenham and I went shopping and bought lots of clothes while I was there. I've just recalled a skirt I bought there which I wore to a friend's 40th birthday celebration which was a barge trip. My friend is now 46! So the bath foam was 6 years old, assuming it was left over from Cheltenham and not from my trips to Buxton or Oxford :rotfl:.0 -
I've taken the advice from you peeps and have put my posher hand wash out in the bathroom. Well, it's only Soap and Glory Wash Your Hands Of It but it feels posh after using an assortment of bubble bath for the last few months. I've just tried it and I have to say it smells gorgeous. Hurrah for the pink rose candle philosophy.0
