I'm trying to avoid BS and shop vicariously through others as I really cannot afford to buy anything else this month :o:rotfl:

A UU, an IN, a HELP! and a  today.

    UU:
£land Cherry Blossom BathBombs: WIBA? Probably not - these were a gift - they should be called Bath Bullets as they were tiny and I had to use the whole box in one bath :rotfl:

    IN:
S&G Clean Mary: Another 3/4 full pass on from DD. Has gone into the drawer for now but may swap it with the one I'm using now for a change.

    HELP!:
My second favourite lipbalm - LUSH Maple Taffy - has gone all gritty :( I got it for xmas and it's been open a month - OH won't have bought it more than a week before so it can't be too old. Should I take it back? Would they do anything? or should I just use it as a lip scrub?

DD lost her Advantage Card and someone spent her points  Was only a couple of quid but still!! She's requested a new one and hopefully this will encourage her to take more care of her stuff. (Unlikely though - she hasn't learnt from losing her glasses, phone, iPod ) Sh!tty thing to do though :(

My nightcream is starting to Splutter (quietly - it's in a jar :rotfl:) and is unlikely to last the week :D

Todays goal is to dehair my legs :o:rotfl:

Forgot to mention. I was in Poundland yesterday and there were lovely large Kilner -style airtight jars there - they are packaged in a red and white cardboard box if you want to find them quickly. I won't use mine for soap, as some of you probably will, but they looked a great buy

I've got one and use it for 'silver' - it always looks empty as it's HUGE :rotfl:

I'm an alternator, but using the expensive stuff recently has had an interesting effect.

I showered yesterday and could still feel the 'effects' of the previous day's body butter, I didn't feel as if I needed to wash at all.

So today, just the important little places got a wash, plus body brushing to improve my circulation in my legs which is compromised because of my disability, topped off with legs and feet only buttering and creaming.

I'm intending mentioning this thread on the BBC's Ouch disability message boards as when you are disabled, taking pride in your body and pampering it as opposed to just caring for it, can be a radical mind-shift. I'm reaping a tremendous psychological and physical benefit and I want to share it. :D

The MSE forums don't have a great name among the Disabled community as there are those who take delight in attacking disabled people in receipt of benefits and do so. FWIW, I work full time and claim the higher rate of mobility allowance, as this is paid to compensate for the extra expenses of my disability, e.g. 'Cuthbert' * the four-wheeled shopping trolley.

*He was bought in Durham City, and Cuthbert is Durham's saint.

Good for you And for claiming what you are entitled to. It annoys me when people take a pop at someone for claiming benefits they are clearly entitled to, regardless of whether or not they can work as well. The situation that annoys me is when you get a family who cannot be bothered to work, and get away with claiming everything going - not least as it gets those like you who are honest and hardworking such a bad name.

It's lovely to hear that this thread is making such an impact too! :T
One IN for today, my first in January though so not too bad!

Bought Karma solid shampoo bar from Lush cos I have wanted to try them for ages.
Went into Lush to buy tea tree water but since it now costs nearly £7  for a bottle I think this might be the last time I get it. I could get 7 bottles of basics boots or supermarket toner for that and prob not see much difference in my skin!
Also was going to use a £5 No 7 voucher to get eye make up remover but this has gone up from £6.50 to £7.75 since last time I bought it and its not worth spending the extra money on IMO.
Everyone is out to get my money it seems!

You could buy nearly two bottles of "The" eye makeup remover for what you'd spend over the top of the voucher for that No. 7 one if you bought the L'Oreal one in Sainsburys as recommended above! Bargain!

I'll be interested to hear how you get on with the Lush shampoo bar as well as it's one of the very few Lush products I fancy trying. I commented to Mum the other day that I really want to like Lush stuff, but I go in there, and wander round, and nothing really jumps out at me. I also feel that a lot of it is terribly expensive for what it is. :o

    Hi all

Not been able to catch up for a couple of days, you're a chatty bunch :rotfl:

hope I can remember everything, as I can't use multi quote for some strange reason

Footymadgal - Your post made me laugh about Paramount hotels.... I used to work at the head office there and it must have been bought out 5 years ago, if not longer :rotfl::rotfl:

Roshydoshy - Hope the interview went well, fingers crossed!!

Essex - I can't believe you got all that - i'm not keen on a couple of things from the S &G, might try exchanging them this week.. :T

I've no uu to report for the last few days, although hubby has just said hes ran out of 'Attitude' aftershave - i told him with a straight face he owes a quid in the pot :rotfl::rotfl:

Went to Boots today, but didn't buy any toilettries, got some wrapping paper and a couple of photo frames from the 75% sale.... I did place an order online the other night for the GOK set and a Male Botanics set, but they're both for gifts so dont count.....

This worked for me: Go to the photo desk - there isn't usually a customer service dept in Boots. Tell the person behind the counter that you asked earlier in the week (as this makes it sound like the deal is already done) about exchanging a couple of products that you have recently had as an unwanted gift without a receipt, and were told that was fine. They may well ask about whether you received any more items as they were on a three for two before christmas - I simply said when asked that no, I knew they have been bought since christmas, but didn't know what store they were purchased from, I'm afraid. Worked a treat both times. :D Target to beat is getting within a penny of the exchange amount! ;)

I UU to report: S&G Clean Girls Shower Gel; the scent gets to you after a while (I'm not a fan of musk really in any form) but I liked the moisturising it gave me. Still not as good as my beloved I Foam (which I cant buy till I've used everything else up!)

I'm staying away from The Body Shop sale. I don't really find their stuff all that great.

This is what I need to keep telling myself. I am working my way through a bottle of TBS Almond Body Lotion at the moment and am hating it. My problem is that I walk in, see something heavily reduced, buy it and then realise when I don't like it that it's probably reduced because no-one else liked it either. The pump on the bottle is very stiff and I've ended up tipping the lotion straight from the bottle to get it used up. I do love their shower gels and body butters and must tell myself to stick with these products in future. Am determined to use it up though - have usually thrown the product away at this point.
I've touched up my roots today.

Me too. Feel human again! x

Great weekend in the UU stakes!!

]Elemis SOS Cream ... Really liked it and found it to be really effective and calming down flare ups.
    Have a good evening girls.

I love this product to for flare ups. It's great. I tend to get blocked pores which are really painful and this is great at calming my skin down.

I have been to Sainsbury's today and bought a bottle of the L'Oreal eye make up remover.

I think I have a different kind of problem now. I know what's in my stash and am only buying things that I need/don't have already in there but I'm now stashing by proxy! I bought MrM some different shaving gels for Christmas because his beloved L'Occitane one has had it's formula changed and doesn't work for him anymore. Anyway I bought him an Elemis kit and it's been reduced on Time to spa - I know I shouldn't buy because he does have others but it's such a good price.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I swapped my mascara in Debs for the lengthening one. V pleased as don't like the brush in the high impact one. The brush in this one is intriguing!

    No UU today :(

Mum and I both did the same thing the other day - Mum's opened hers already (sooooo impatient! :p) and said the same thing about the brush - I've not opened mine though so I still don't know what's so odd about it! :D

Am glad I've seen this post. Am still on look out for HG eye make up remover. Have tried Gatineau, No7 and Simple so far (as before that I used Liz Earle C&P to do the job). Both Gatineau and Simple did not remove it effecitvely (still have the Simple one on the go) and whilst the NO7 one did I found it too greasy.

Ahhh....you'll be looking for THIS ONE then, like everyone else! ;)

I would certainly hope so - they ought to be pleased to have a potential formulation problem brought to their attention. or should I just use it as a lip scrub? No - if there is a problem that has made it go gritty, don't think you want to be using it on your lips, do you?!

I have always wondered how likely it is that someone would spend the points off a "found" advantage card. Shame for your DD, but at least it wasn't too much. I always wonder if the people you see on the Boots sale threads and similar who are cheerfully telling everyone how they have hundreds of pounds in points on their cards realise that it is just lke carrying that amount of cash with you!
