Today (to take my mind of going into town and browsing the shops!!) I have mostly been baking - Im planning a pistachio sponge cake for my take to work birthday cake next month, so ive made pistachio cupcakes today (well you have to test these things out !!!) om nom nom !!!!!
Bath tonight - after feeding Red her dinner and walking the dogs - am anticipating some use ups.
One question for you home colourists - that Garnier that i used last weekend looks to be washing out already, and Ive only washed my hair twice since I did it - is this the norm?? It was a permanent colour???
welcome newbies - keep strong everyone !!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
I never have any difficulty with colour Trudi, but someone on another thread here reported that Perfect 10 had washed straight out for her. Perhaps you should email Garnier and ask advice /complain.
Some responses to my 'Giving the best to ourselves - The Pink Rose Candle Philosophy' from the BBC's Ouch! Disability forums:
Sign me up! Funnily enough I found an egg shaped candle in some stuff I inherited from my mother and remembered she had kept it for years. I got it out and I'll light it now.:T
Thank you And. I felt as if you were almost talking just to me! I, too, have lovely things that people have bought me but have never used them for reasons I won't go into but are probably the same for most of us. Yes, I shall sort them out and enjoy them and make myself feel better.
Best wishes and smiles to you. Take care :T
That sounds like a great philosophy for life! I have a tonne of candles that I have always looked at as too nice to actually use, but that really does kind of defeat the purpose of having them doesn't it! lol
:T
I like this theory
I cannot use body products. But I think it also applies to clothes - saving them for best. It's nice to wear lovely clothes all the time to make yourself feel good.:T
My response was this: I know we are all feeling so ground down by what's going on at the moment. We NEED things to make ourselves feel better, without being unrealistic, Pollyannaish, or sticking our heads in the sand.
I knew when I posted this, that some of you reading would be unable to use toiletries and wearing clothes that make you feel good is a GREAT idea.
I'm going to start lighting my literal candles too. I have loads of tealights just sat in a bag under my coffee table. They are cluttering the place up. They must be burned!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Then went to Boots to look for a new mascara and despite having about £60 of points on my card it was really busy and I left empty handed!
Sadly the S&G Breakfast Scrub in the tote bag doesn't have a barcode on it I discovered, the ones in store have a bit of cardboard round them. I really don't like the smell so not sure what to do with it now.
So I've not added anything new today which is good.
Ebay it. S&G sells well on Ebay. I should know, its me that's buying it:rotfl:

afternoon all,
two uu's today. yay!
elvive volume mousse - I quite like this as it gives body without making my hair feel 'hard' if you know what I mean, so will probably buy again at some point when I've got through the other stuff in the stash
linco beer shampoo/conditioner - will never buy this again, hate it, I have been trying to use this up once a week for months and I'm glad to see the end of it,
enjoy your day ladies, xx0 -
Forgot to mention. I was in Poundland yesterday and there were lovely large Kilner -style airtight jars there - they are packaged in a red and white cardboard box if you want to find them quickly. I won't use mine for soap, as some of you probably will, but they looked a great buyErma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Great weekend in the UU stakes!!
Clarins Body Lotion 100ml - Had this in my stash for a few years and was one I had kept meaning to get around to using. WIBA -yes really lovely texture and smell. Even though it was a lotion it absorbed quickly and lasted well into the next day. This was only 100mls and lasted 6 days (good dollops) that did my whole body. The only negative is the price. Might ask for it as a birthday of xmas gift.
Decleor Body Scrub 250mls - This had a use by date which I was not aware of prior to starting the challenge (funny how you now take great care about dates and stock rotation). It still seemed ok despite being out of date so used it anyway. WIBA -Yes I got this out of TK Maxx as the ordinary price is too . Nice and scrubby. I am open to cheaper suggestions ladies.
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm 50ml - WIBA - Yes really like this one especially as I work some anti social hours and can look a wee bit tired at times. I alternate with P & P but I have a Clarins one to try that I bought at the duty free in Nov 09.
Clinique City Block Cream 20mls - This was a GWP and I have to say I loved the oil free and spf built in. WIB - Yes, don't know the actual price but will look into it after I get the stash down a wee bit. I have also notices a big improvement in my skin - less shiny and spotty.
Clinique Dramatically Different 30 mls - This has been my regular moisturiser for a good few years and I have not needed to buy it for a few years (topped up in December on hols). This was the last of my old stash and I find it to be quite good but not a HG.
Elemis SOS Cream Freebie - Bought the Elemis cleaner/toner set and got this sample free. Really liked it and found it to be really effective and calming down flare ups. Much better than others in my stash like Clinique. WIB - If I had the money yes - maybe if a good deal was on QVC.
Also reporting another splutterer -Tweezerman Brow gel.
