  • No UU :-( everything seems to be lasting ages at the moment.

Resisted temptation in Boots, The Body Shop and Debenhams today when shopping for a birthday present.

    Quite proud of myself!

Did buy some essentials from Sainsbury's today and I don't consider them part of the challenge - razor blades and Root top up hair colour (I did once have a stash of this as well though cos they reduced my colour for clearance and then discontinued it!).

Am going to bin a couple of items though : a Gatineau lip balm - WNBA - this product has done nothing for me. It has sat in my bathroom for probably a couple of years and every now and then I think I'll give that a go and see if it will perform this time and it hasn't. It now smells funny so is going in the bin. The other item is a Clinique lipgloss WNBA - shame really because the first Clinique one I owned was lovely was called Melon Sky was not at all gloopy and I got every last drop out of it. As is usual with the products we love Clinique discontinued the colour so I opted for Golden Guava (the one I am binning). It never lived up to Melon Sky's high standard. The colour wasn't right, the texture was sticky to begin with. Now that I'm a good half way through the product it's gloopier than ever so I'm giving up the ghost with it.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

One UU last night - one of "THE" eyemakeup removers WIBA? Already have! :D

Sophy - I definitely agree with those who say to crack on with the nicer stuff as well - apart from anything else there is no point in leaving the nicer stuff to sit about for longer, as then it won't be "as" nice when you get to it. Really well done for sticking to the challenge for a year though! :T

Thanks for the reminder re this product, I remember you recommending a couple of months ago and am intending to give it a go at some point. Just noticed it is on offer at Sainsburys at the moment only £1.48 until 15 February, for anyone who needs to buy you might as well buy at the best price!

Thanks for the advice and support, ladies - I think - no, I know! - you are right, because this has made me feel quite disheartened recently, even though its my fault for buying the stuff in the first place :o. Just finished the last of my mini lipglosses, and will be opening a stila next, rather than the lower end one I was thinking of using :).
:j:j:j:jpink rose candle philosophy in action, I like it :A
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

  • Did buy a Radox stress relieving bubblebath today, but have about 5 Boots £5 off tokens and haven't used any of them as there's nothing I really need ,and don't want to add to stash.

I'm intending mentioning this thread on the BBC's Ouch disability message boards as when you are disabled, taking pride in your body and pampering it as opposed to just caring for it, can be a radical mind-shift. I'm reaping a tremendous psychological and physical benefit and I want to share it. :D

    Amen to that :A

Thanks for that - £1.48p is a bargain for an eye make up remover and I love it. No need to faff around with No7 £5 off this or that vouchers or other temptations. This stuff is good. EH - for recommending this and convincing snobs like me (I only used Clinique before at £14 a bottle!) you are Queen L'Oreal Gentle Eye Make Remover I. :A
The only snag is if I go into Sainsburys I will see Champneys products....waaaaaaaaa I want to buy my HG body butter and I have load of carp others ones to use up.... waaaaaa...waaaaaa.:( Clearly I am exaggerating as I have a Clarins one and an Elemis ones to use. But you get the point.:)

Just wanted to say to everyone well done, I've not joined this thread for January as I succumbed to temptation several times and my stash has expanded :o

I think after the sales have ended and the temptations have subsided I will be more disciplined. I've put my list together (bar the last purchase) and organised everything ready and have used up a couple of items so I should be raring to go for Feb.....(famous last words)

Don't be too hard on yourself Carter. At least you're now aware of the stash and adding to it. I felt I was in a daze before this challenge. Why not out some of your stash (perhaps as pressies or to friends/family) to help balance the (toiletry) books? :A

Use some of the nicer products - don't leave them, enjoy them. Otherwise it's really hard going trying to use up your stash. :A

My sentiments exactly. Why have all the lovely smelling items sitting in a cupboard to look longingly at when you can smell and feel gorgeous using them instead :D

    Evening all
Have UU a Liz Earl handwash. WIBA, maybe, but the bottle is annoying and falls over when you push it
Started L'Occitane liquid soap bottle I got from Bicester Village

I need to buy an eye cream though, something refreshing, and probably a Boots organics one
    No toiletries spend in 2011.
    So far spends....£0!
