No Buying Toiletries in Jan 2011 !!!!

UU a discontinued, boring bubble bath and a discontinued Boots body moisturiser in an annoying metal can. Glad to be rid of both. Have been trying to do this challenge for a year, and still haven't started on many of my nicer products yet!
I alternate between the older/boring stuff and the nicer products, week on/week off or use the older/boring stuff during the week and the nicer stuff at the weekend. No point leaving the nicer stuff till you finish the other stuff or you may open it and its no good as its been in your stash too long!0 -

Hmm, I'm also interested. But it's so expensive! Is there a way of trying it before purchase? There's so many causes of clogged skin, you never know if yours can be helped by a particular tool.0 -

Exactly! Pink Rose Candle Philosophy remember!
Poundland and The X Catalogue Shop in Darlington earlier... the toiletries in the X Cat shop are upstairs I think. Anyway I had 'Cuthbert', my new and trusty four-wheeled shopper with me so couldn't investigate.
Poundland had all the usual suspects in, in toiletries - OS Shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, Carex refills x 2 Supersoft and Schwarzkopf shampoos and conditioners, a Timotei for brunettes that I would have bought having never seen it before, were it not for the challenge.
Has anyone tried the Poundland body butters? (I think the brand may be Dermalogics.)
Are they any good? I'm doing some surveys on the My Survey site to earn Amazon vouchers so I can get things that Boots and Tesco don't have and Amazon have this for just 99p. Someone has reviewed it in broken English as being 'very heavy for me' which sounds good for me...
I did get some good non toiletry buys in Poundland though, will pop them on the Poundland thread.:)Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... One UU last night - one of "THE" eyemakeup removers WIBA? Already have!
Sophy - I definitely agree with those who say to crack on with the nicer stuff as well - apart from anything else there is no point in leaving the nicer stuff to sit about for longer, as then it won't be "as" nice when you get to it. Really well done for sticking to the challenge for a year though! :T🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks for the advice and support, ladies - I think - no, I know! - you are right, because this has made me feel quite disheartened recently, even though its my fault for buying the stuff in the first place
. Just finished the last of my mini lipglosses, and will be opening a stila next, rather than the lower end one I was thinking of using

I'm an alternator, but using the expensive stuff recently has had an interesting effect.
I showered yesterday and could still feel the 'effects' of the previous day's body butter, I didn't feel as if I needed to wash at all.
So today, just the important little places got a wash, plus body brushing to improve my circulation in my legs which is compromised because of my disability, topped off with legs and feet only buttering and creaming.
I'm intending mentioning this thread on the BBC's Ouch disability message boards as when you are disabled, taking pride in your body and pampering it as opposed to just caring for it, can be a radical mind-shift. I'm reaping a tremendous psychological and physical benefit and I want to share it.
The MSE forums don't have a great name among the Disabled community as there are those who take delight in attacking disabled people in receipt of benefits and do so. FWIW, I work full time and claim the higher rate of mobility allowance, as this is paid to compensate for the extra expenses of my disability, e.g. 'Cuthbert' * the four-wheeled shopping trolley.

I have a UU. Original Source yellow shower gel (lemon?). WIBA?: Bought 3 in boots today. Only 2 would go through with the 1/3 off coupon. The other was £1. I wasn't allowed to pay with points though. BOOOOOOOO!
Went for a walk on a really blowy hill earlier, (sand point if you know it). Felt like snow was coming and my face was feeling the burn. Hand are rough and splitting after my split nights this week. DS has sore face and lips so will be smothering him and myself with the P&P night cream tonight and will take my body lotion out with me to keep my hands topped up.
Went to a funeral on Wednesday and noticed how split, chapped and sore some of the ladies hands were looking. Wanted to recommend they get using their stash up but felt it may seem nosy and rude
Getting a gurt lush indian for tea tonight to have with family. Had promised DH I'd get him one for his birthday but we were out for his work do so he's having it now!
We're really enjoying the light we have to trial from bzzagent. It's making getting up so much easier in the dark mornings. I'm going to have a fiddle with it and set it to use during the day too as I feel it will be espescially helpful for me as a night worker. Some days, I don't see any light at all (weekends when DH leaves me in bed!). Forgive me for I have sinned but it didnt cost me a penny.....Went to Boots and they had a load of end of line stuff reduced and got 5 boxes of Aapri facial scrub pads reduced to 75p each! These will last 5 months although will give some to my DD's. Got a blemish stick and lip balm from the Expert range and 2 bottles of diet coke to get the free Nails inc polish in Denim, a packet of nail files all for 850 points!
A throwaway - Avon lipstick it was a freebie ages ago but it had decided to go all mushy.
UU a couple of perfume samples Christina Aguleira and YSL Belle D'Opium.0 -
uu an ancient (from the long deceased make up club)revlon make up removers pads....size of cotton pads so only of use on the eyes really and wipes are much better, there were a few left but as so old I binned them.WNBA(even if they are still made!)
saving my Boots points to buy meal deals at the airport when we go on holiday ....good value and better than the airline food,we always get the water and don't buy any drinks on the plane :A:A:Acan't wait to go at the beg of march as fed up being cold and wet.
DH got home after midnight and said he only had 1 hour free to go outside the hotel in malaga from tuesday to friday:(...no time off or payment to make up for all his own time spent there it is so unfair the way workers are treated these days:(he is very tired so having a chill out day (actually he is asleep with the cat:rotfl:) not evengoing for a swim.
I am using up a lot of the Lush Christmas pressies in a "live for today" mode andplan to ditch some old lippies as sick of the sight of them and have loads of new ones in stash.Did have a look at ebaying some but sooooooo much stuff on there and need DS2 to work camera/add to laptop:rotfl:so not bothering0 -
