Sorry i had to share that
I did too. It's the 2nd post I've misread tonight! Time for bed methinks!:j0 -
I like bubbles when I'm washing, it makes me feel cleaner!Apparently boys don't: it's one of the things they do to 'masculinise' them.
My OH loves bubbles- I only like them if I'm having a 'relaxing' bath - if I'm washing my hair it has to be bubble-less water
makes him cross because we use the same bath water and if he goes first he's not allowed his bubbles
Hello :hello:My name is sarah*a and I am a toiletries-a-holic. Well, at least I thought I was until I found this thread - I have nothing on some of you guys :rotfl:
I was going to wait until after the Boots 75% sale to join but as it doesn't seem to be happening anytime soonI figured today was just as good as any other day - especially as I had the forum downtime to do some sorting and counting.
I've done a list but it's basic numbers of items not item by item brand by brand etc. I'll name and shame (or name and fame) as I UU each item but CBA to write all the names down :rotfl:
I'm not gonna put any cash away during this challenge - just enjoy the extra I'll have for other things - and the space in my bathroom :rotfl:
So, Here is it! The number in red bold is the TOTAL of each item I have and the number in black bold are ones I am using:
Face Cream Day (small) 3 / 1
Face Cream Night (small) 4 / 2
Eye Cream 1 / 1
Face Serum 1 / 1
Shampoo 3 / 1
Conditioner 4 / 1
Hair Treatment Sachets 7 / 0
Showergel/Body Wash 11 / 1
Soap 1 / 1
Cleanser 1 / 1
Toner 2 / 1
Lipbalm 4 / 2
Bubblebath 3 / 0
Bathbombs 12 / 0
Everyday Handcream 3 / 2
Intensive Handcream 1 / 1
Intensive Footcream 2 / 1
Bio Oil (small) 2 / 1
Face Wipes 2 / 1
Face Scrub 1 / 1
Hand Scrub 2 / 1
Bath Oil 2 / 1
Body Butter 1 / 1
Body Lotion 3 / 1
Baby Wipes 2 / 1
Hair Removing Cream 2 / 0
Face Masks 1 / 0
Body Mud Mask 1 / 1
Body Spray 2 / 1
Roll on Deo 1 / 1
Toothbrushes 3 / 2 (mine & OH)
Toothpaste 1 / 1 (mine & OH)
Perfume 3 / 2
Total Items 91 / 33
Thought I'd also add OH's on too so I can keep an eye on it
Deodorant/Body Spray 4 / 1
Bubblebath 2 / 1
Bodywash 1 / 1
Shampoo 1 / 1
My goal is to get everything down to 2 / 1 or less
I haven't added Make-up because I very rarely wear it and have the bare minimum - couple of blushers/shadows/foundations etc.
I also have a separate bag for 'holiday toiletries' and this gets replenished from the main stash at the end of every holiday.
It was quite nice to go through my bathroom drawers today and sort everything out - it all looks a lot tidier for a startI 'consolidated' a whole bunch of showergels/bodywashes by emptying them all into one big bottle - it smells lovely - a really creamy coconutty with a hint of orange and lavender :rotfl: and looks a sort of light latte colour - so I will get that used up first
The only IN I should have in the next week (unless Boots get a move on with the 75% off) is a lipbalm I have on order from Bodyshop - but I have already counted that above
I know it's not much compared to some - and I have a feeling there is some more lurking in the spare room which is on our agenda to sort out over the next few weeks - there will also be some bits I will probably find half used in DD's room which is another challenge I have to face sometime soon _pale_
I also 'collect' bags - have them everywhere but still 'forget'to take them shopping so I have to buy more. I want one of the lunch bags from boots
.....I also got 2 gift vouchers for that Xfoliate Feet company. The one where you put your feet in the fish tanks!!.....
I got a voucher for one of these for xmas too - fish pedicure, foot massage and a glass of bubblylooking forward to trying it but very nervous too
Ok - thats meNice to be here

Loreal Feria hair colour - Plum Power only cost 89p or something as i had a £5 voucher for a spend during Jan.
Oh, what a pity. They were available in the websiteI might use mine in the sponges, the hair band or the gloves. Let us know how your colour goes, I am thinking of buying that colour. What was your base?
brighthair wrote: »what's the best deep conditioner for dry, curly, can be frizzy hair?
My hair is not curly but it is dry, thick, incredibly damaged and wavy. I like Elvive and Garnier for conditioner, but what I find better is the Toni&Guy serum (can't remember name, it is a transparent tube). That makes my hair silky and shiny.Have yet to take the towel off to see if Ive managed to go whole head brown rather than brown roots and red length - but Im sure it will be fine....... I hope (last time I dyed my hair myself it went carrot colour and my hairdresser wet herself laughing when I went to her to sort it out!!!)
OMG, that was me a couple of weeks ago.
What follows is my adventure/journey with hair dyes the last couple of weeks. My hair is really dark and I wanted to be blonde without spending too much. I started dying my hair in November, I put a few shades of blonde every couple of weeks and all I got was a lovely brown-ginger colour that suit me but was not blonde nor was what I wanted. So in Boxing Day I decided to buy some peroxide bleach thingy, those that you have to but the powder and the bottle separately. I bought two and I left it extra time because I already knew my hair was difficult.... pffff... oh my! The hair was chicken yellow with orangey patches lol and so dry and weird it reminded me the stuff my grandma had to wash the dishes in the 80s. So I went to the local hairdresser to sort it out. I thought it could not be that much, and I stupidly did not ask for prices before going in. I just wanted it done. Apparently it depends who does it, and seniors charge more than juniors and so on. Well, they had to cut my long hair and attempted to cover the yellow. I spent 3h there and they charged me £125  I almost pass out there. I did not have that much money, so I had to use ccIt was the only time I went to the hairdresser in the whole year but it costed as much as if I had been every now and then. I felt really bad but I thought it was worth since my hair looked better with their lights and the hair styling. Wrong. I have loads of hair, loads. When I tried to dry it myself I looked like something between a lion and a mushroom.
The colour was like oats in normal light, and completely matte without the stuff they had put on. I just felt so ugly that I went to other hairdresser to sort out the cut and the colour. I had a lovely cut but they said they could not do anything with the colour since hair was so damaged blah blah blah. One week later I tried it again... yep... :rotfl:so it went again yellow, went to Ho*and and B and bought an Ash blonde which killed the orange and left it normal. Still yellowish, but a yellowish blonde without the orange bits. Now I can see the roots wanting to appear again. Idk if I should buy roots touch ups, try to use Jolen just around the hairline to disguise it and leave the roots for the next month, or go dark again and forget about this stupid idea that has costed me a fortune. I have never ever ever spent that much in a hairdresser. Not even for my wedding hair!!! I feel stupid every time I think about it. And my wallet is still in pain, since I used my emergency budget and maxed out the credit card in a couple of weeks because of silly hair. AAAARGHHH

Try the John Frieda Frizz Ease range. I found it to be very good at keeping my hair under control, my hair tends to get very frizzy and with this I find I can get away with just the conditioner and don't need the shampoo too. Wish I'd stuck to it, I have a small stash of conditioner to work my way through before I can go back to the JF.
I have used JF in the past currently using Andrew Barton (which is v v good) shampoo, conditioner and curl cream, but my hair is SO dry that it needs more. Seriously I contemplted chucking a bottle of olive oil over it yesterday :rotfl:0 -
ooh like the idea of mixing splutterers, saraha and welcome to the gang. A bit risky but in my experience these things tend not to smell once added to bath water anyway!0

Brighthair - I once read about a model (think I read it in Glamour magazine) who uses oils on her hair. Cant spell this late - but pronounced Hohoba (johoba?). And added others oils to help it. If you keep treating your hair and trimming the ends she will come round. Try and avoid heat for a while. I've not tried Philip Kingley Elastiser but lots of people on here rate it - plus if you bought it from QVC and were unimpressed you can send it back, used or unused.

Oh dear martafdz
I went blonde about 18 months ago - admittedly my hair was quite short - and I used the powder bleach stuff too. I had to do it every day for about a week - covering patches and leaving the roots - until I got an all over even colour.
Not sure I would recommend it though
I did mine because I wanted hot pink hair - it was fab while I had it but I got bored of having to do the roots weekly - and then ended up sticking a chocolate brown over it in the end as I had a funeral to go and didn't think Hot Pink was appropriate
I wouldn't do it again:rotfl:
TBH - if it was me - I'd just go dark again and pretend it never happened0 -

Oh! Yeah! Jojoba oil I think it is. I also heard of Moroccan oil, a friend buys it from her hairdresser and she said it was really good. Never tried any though.TBH - if it was me - I'd just go dark again and pretend it never happened
Lol, thanks! I thought about it, it is the fact that then I think about how much I have spent so far and I feel now I should stick to it... to justify the spend lol, but truth is that by doing so I will only end up spending more!!I so wanted platinum hair... but it is never going to happen... it is simply too dark and thick
Maybe a wig next time, it will be cheaper for sure! Lol I would love to have my hair in some fun colour but I am not trying lol I might go first brown-plum-cherry colour for some months and then black blue. But I need to find a 2x1 offer or something like that first, because even with short hair I need 2 packets!! That's how much hair I have and how thick it is!!

I'm not officially doing this challenge yet, and it's just as well because I've just bought one of the remaining half price Soap and Glory sets from Boots! I do go away for the weekend quite a bit and take travel toiletries with me so I know they will come in handy.
I am currently applying for jobs away from home so will hopefully be moving out soon. I will make my list then as I am going to be leaving stuff at my parents' house so I won't have to bring toiletries when I visit. That will get rid of some and give me a better idea of what I actually have to use up!Sealed Pot Challenge Number 1225
