  • Have had a nice soaking bath using some body wash as bubble bath!
Trying to finish up a BS cranberry scrub but it refuses to die. I reckon if I use generous amounts next time (like I did today) I can finish it off.
Don't like it much - it smells so sweet and is very watery, not much scrub-factor - so I'll be very pleased not to have wasted it by throwing it out and even more pleased when I've finished it!

BTW: this afternoon I made up a little basket of target use ups for beside my bed (lip salve, handcream, face cream) so it's easier and more tempting to pamper myself when I go to bed. I also made 2 larger baskets for my bathroom with the items in that I want to use up first. I had great fun looking through them when I was running the bath and choosing what to use. I've got a selection of opened body wash, creams, foam bath etc in there and it's rather fun!

I have a bedroom stash of cream to put on my feet last thing at night and first thing in the morning, deodorant, body spray and face cream, all to use if I am running late and not had time to shower. This strategy worked well this morning as I had to be out of the house at 6.20 to go and look after my grandchildren. With pink rose candle philosophy in mind all got used in a few quick minutes, which they would not have done previously.

Being a soap and water girl I don't use cleanser, and a little while ago I won a large bottle of Virgin Vie cleanser in a raffle. Hmm. I had a Eureka moment this week. This particular cleanser is ultra mild, for sensitive skin. I'm now using it and loo roll instead of wet wipes to give a freshen - up to my important little places between showers.

Ive got to hover my bum over the naughty step - I bought a Garnier hair dye today - BUT I used it tonight, AND I didnt have any in the house (normally get it done at the hairdressers, but my apprentice has passed all her exams and left now,so havent been for ages!!) Have yet to take the towel off to see if Ive managed to go whole head brown rather than brown roots and red length - but Im sure it will be fine....... I hope (last time I dyed my hair myself it went carrot colour and my hairdresser wet herself laughing when I went to her to sort it out!!!)

so Im kinda naughty, but kinda good too.

I reckon my BS orange butter will run out tomorrow morning - its almost there, but not quite. Ive found a sparkly clarins one in the stash,so am going to use that next (bet it hangs about forever just cos i dont like the smell very much!!) and hopefully all my bubble bath and this body cream will all run out together so I can start being a Ted Baker girl...

Might have to "find" some money from somewhere though if there are still TB sets in the Boots sale - fingers crossed we have some down here!!!

  • Just remembered: when I was sorting things out in my bedroom today I came across 3 more toilteries that I need to add to my total: a bath bomb (Christmas pressie), a cranberry BS body butter and SBC arnica gel. mmmmmm

what's the best deep conditioner for dry, curly, can be frizzy hair?

I keep hearing about philip kingsley elasticizer, anyone used it?
Try the John Frieda Frizz Ease range. I found it to be very good at keeping my hair under control, my hair tends to get very frizzy and with this I find I can get away with just the conditioner and don't need the shampoo too. Wish I'd stuck to it, I have a small stash of conditioner to work my way through before I can go back to the JF.

That's a really lovely body butter, imho, enjoy using it up.

I bought the £4 Tesco bag by Orla Kiely three times - twice to put gifts in rather than wrapping them, and one for me. Money goes to Clic Sargent and to a bursary for textile students, so it's a win-win situation. I still can't find anything resembling the mobile phone face bag from Poundland, but I found mine near the tills, if that's a help.
I do that too. At Christmas I always buy the 10p (what a skin-flint!) reusable bags from Waitrose - this year they were a lovely bright gold pattern - much better than giving an ordinary paper gift bag. :)
Are these designer bags in Tesco at the moment? **wanders off to think about how I go into Tesco avoiding the toiletries aisle**

I think that's the trick, making it easier to use all those bits - if you get as far as bed and then have to go back to the bathroom for face cream or lip balm, you're going to say "Stuff it" and climb under the duvet, but if they are there looking at you, then bingo!

You'll find several people on here who list the Elasticizer as a HG product. I have a similar sort of hair to you and find the Tresemme deep conditioners very good. Not too pricey either, and the big tubs last ages.
