Thank you, my OH is currently dismantling it as there's a lot of water swishing round behind the screen. I will be trying the rice approach to ensure it's fully dry before I see if it works.

Out of interest, do people here hoard other things or is it just toiletries? Also noting a cat loving theme coming out....is there a connection?
I have 7 cats, plus 2 rescue cats, 2 rescue kittens, tons of gorgeous toiletries, 13 hot water bottles (some are for the stray cats who live in my rabbit hutch - not with a rabbit), and about 30 blankets (some for the cats, some for me.) Not to mentions drawers full of magazines and books. Oh and a few candles which I must start burning....lovely poem that, thank you. And thank you from my cat. I got out her favourite toy, and let her play with it after reading that. She usually breaks it within about ten minutes and I have to get another one, but we are going to seize the day.
I know the whole world seems to be a disaster zone right now, floods and the like, and that is exactly why we have to enjoy the few pleasures we do have - gazing at her Sanctuary drawer...:p
PS sorry to hear about your phone....did you see my post about missing a £1K competition prize because I'm so disorganised....might cheer you up....
PPS - hands up who is also on the Boots sale thread still.....ain't lookin good eh.:rotfl:Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
Hi all, another couple of UUs...
FCUK pure shower scrub. WIBA - No, wasn't impressed with it at all.
Tesco Body therapy spa serenity mananuca body balm. WIBA - Proabably not, was ok but nowt special.

Hi juliebunny
I'm finding the boots threads hilarious. NOT breaking my buying pledge though. I need NO toiletries. Period.
I've got 6 cats and 4 guinea pigs. I also (:D) have lots of books, several yankee candles and a lot of craft stuff. I tend to go weak for lingerie in the sales and love fleece blankets (though the cats tend to use them!!). Oh and a million carrier bags and I'm a glutton for special offer cat food! I am a hoarder by nature, as if you couldn't tell :rotfl:, hence my toiletry stash.
BUT NO MORE.0 -

Ah thanks! It was a cat food competition funnil enough (oh yes, I too hoard that when on special!!) I have emailed Purina to beg them to give the prize to my cat charity at least.....no reply as yet.....sigh....:(:(:(
I had to get our my entire Sanctuary collection to cheer myself up tonight....having a rough week. This thread cheers me up.....can't exactly explain why although pleased to note I now have a star and am no longer a newbie!!:beer:Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!

I think there is a connection, we'll be the old ladies with hundreds of cats who eat better than we do, and a house full of carrier bags full of stuff we're keeping "just in case" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I wouldn't say I'm a hoarder, quite the opposite in most areas but I have a stash of toiletries (as u all know:D)which is all shut away, and I used to be the same with cleaning products!!! I broke myself of that habit tho I do find myself staring wistfully at that aisle in Asda, just like I do in the toiletry aisle. Also cat food. I have enough to last till about Easter I'd say:eek: but I'd rather that than run out for my darling babies, and all the strays that seem to find their way here......my friend has a theory that cats have some sort of code (like tramps did in days gone by) where they mark the fence post as a signal that u are a friendly house :rotfl:0 -

yay another one!
i get loads of cats in my garden and trying to get in the conservatory in the summer.
i thought they were interested in my girls (though they're all spayed) but maybe they heard the jungle drums and know I'm a soft touch! :rotfl: Not that I feed them. I have enough trouble keeping my greedy lot happy! but it's not unknown for me to find a strange cat munching through the cat biscuits!0 -
I collect shopping bags and tote bags it would seem. Handbags don't have quite the same allure but I do have a weakness for a nice re-usable bag. Today I bought one of a design I hadn't seen before, a foldaway nylon tote which packed into a little sack that had a drawstring with a toggle. When you opened the bag out the drawstring and toggle formed one corner of the bag - there was no annoying little nylon pouch to use and lose.
This was in Poundland, the bag was white nylon and the sack bit has a mobile phone with a face on it, in either pink or black. I just Googled to see if a picture was available and found this http://www.amazon.co.uk/usable-Black-Shopping-Bag-Strawberry/dp/B002BBAC0O/ref=pd_cp_kh_3
:smileyhea
That's my weakness, anyway. That and cuddly socks at the moment.

Two of us using up exactly the same product on the same day and both unimpressed.... Great minds ....Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again...
