Still haven't managed one yet! BUT have my best mate visiting and I won't see her for ages so we went to the pub - only spent £3.30 though! (I'm not drinking which made rounds cheaper! can you say rounds for just two people?)

Excuses over. Will try harder tomorrow! :o

£3.30 for a round? Where do you drink?? I'm a severe cheapskate so was in my local Spoons yesterday, two pints of real ale was £4.20 which I thought was a bargain, you've done terribly well with your round. I'd call it a round for two people too.

Good luck with tomorrow! I'm resigned to a non NSD tomorrow so am going to break the barriers of spending with depravity, so then I can hopefully <crosses toes and fingers and eyes> avoid spending till Friday. We shall see, yes! :)

  • Right I'm back on board the sorting out my life wagon - due to very little choice :o but maybe that's for the best. Anywho - Please stick me down for 15 NSD please - as I have no money this month it should be quite easy. I've already achieved two :T but will be out buying some food tomorrow so I might as well buy my new fridge at the same time (with a £100 gift card that I won :j thanks comps board).

Well done all you NSDers - and happy new year

    Good morning everyone!

I'm awake at stupid o'clock because the dreaded lurgy has woken me up! th_sick0026.gif

Anyway, on a positive note, yesterday brought me NSD number 2 and 2 NSDs in a row - I hope to meet up with friends soon though, and I need to do a food shop at some point, so plan to combine them for a single spend day soon.

Good luck with NSD collecting everyone, and welcome to even more newbies!

BTW Don't work too hard Spoon - this thread is amazingly popular at the mo, but we don't want you working yourself into the ground please! ;)

really want to join the NSD challange but don't think I could manage any more than 10!:( I work part time so have to pay train fair 3 days a week, I do my shopping on a thursday so thats out ... If anyone can give me some tips on how to achive my NSD's I would really appriciate it :D

    Hi there! Welcome aboard!:)

    I also work 3 days a week - what I do is this -

I do my weekly shop on a Friday when I try to get everything I need for the week ahead. I save weekly for my car tax and my Christmas saving card at A$da so I withdraw money for that plus money for my fares. I get the exact amount so I dont have to buy something daft to get change;) and I keep it in a wee dish by the front door. I take a packed lunch on my work days, so provided I dont spend anything else on those days I count them as NSD's. Personally, I dont count direct debits for bills, mortgage etc as, like Kerri, they are budgetted for already. I really do this challenge to keep me aware of what I could potentially fritter away my cash on. I was fed up wondering why my purse was always empty and I had nothing to show for it. :(
Since starting this last year, I've noticed a huge difference in the way I view my spending habits - it's been an eyeopener!:)

Start with a low target and see how you get on, HTH - good luck!:)

    :hello:Good morning everyone!

Blimey - what a busy thread! Welcome to all our new friends!

Had a wonderful time at the panto yesterday, it was bloomin brilliant! Laughed my head off! I'm just a big kid, really!:rotfl:
Sadly not a NSD as we stopped for a McD's on the way home, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
On the plus side, as a result of last week's NSD's, I booked and paid the deposit for our hols - roll on May!:D

Just a thought Spoon - since the thread is so busy, why dont we all keep our own totals in our sigs and declare at the end? I love the fact that you look after us so well, but it's a lot of work for one gal! I really dont want you running yourself ragged trying to keep up with us all. Have a think about it  In the meantime, thanks:A

Might manage one today - OH is on the bell for the coffees today!

    Have a lovely day everyone:)
