Less to do doesn't match with starting a list and a spreadsheet Keiss
.
Me time works for me too, be it getting up half an hour earlier (very rare!) to have a cuppa in total silence, doing some yoga (the meditation bit at the end is fab!) or sewing. It doesn't matter that your "me time" is productive as long as it absorbs your attention fully and you're not thinking about all the other stuff! (My sewing isn't productive but it is all-consuming)
Remember - don't sweat the small stuff. And view all the stuff as small stuff! Makes it so much easier!
Read Henry William Davies' poem "Leisure" and keep it in mind when you're doing too much! I've been trying to say no more often and do less (that's coming from a girl with two jobs and studying for a post grad! It's necessary!!!) But clearly I'm rubbish at it!
I have started to asked myself "what does this mean to me in the grand scheme of things? And stressing over work isn't what I want to be doing. Or making myself ill to get that pesky case study in on time. So what if I get a lower mark than I'd like? I still learned lots. So what if I can't get that report finished before home time; there's only so much time in my day.
But I do care if my nephew is too shy to play with me because he sees me so little. Or I can't find time to visit my friend and play with the kids. Or find time to catch up over a cuppa.
Because they are the things that me sane! Hence my resolution to spend more time with the people who make me laugh!
Oooh 'eck, I came over all philisophical and went on a bit of a rant! Oops!Only came on to declare NSD 1 officailly
Then Cheryl, Moneypenny, you'll be fine with my tea making as that's the way I drink it too.
Nicca, thanks for that wonderful post - a bit of philsophical pondering is good for the soul! I found myself nodding all the way through reading, I could relate to all of it!:A
Good morning all,
Got #1 yesterday, so off to a good start!
Had a lovely day yesterday, all went well considering it was our first without FIL. We had a lovely meal and our nieces aged 9 and 12 put on a "New Year Variety Show"! We had songs, clarinet playing and some dancing, what a laugh!:D We also lit a sky lantern ( just one Cheryl!) in memory of Fil and we all stood out in the back garden and watched as it floated skyward. MIL loved it as she'd never seen one before and she was fair taken with the whole idea!
Home quite late, so we're having a quiet day, but we are off to the panto later ( oh yes we are!) with my M&D.
I adore the panto, it's such a good laugh and nobody minds if you act like a big kid at the age of 50 something!;)
Lovely to see lots of newbies joining us :T
Have a lovely day everyone:)

Please may I join?
Going to aim for 10 NSDs please and count everything that comes out of my current account (So when I transfer my bills money into the joint account that counts as 1 spend... he he he :rotfl:)
May move up to including the joint account later, but that the only "incidental" spends on that is extra food, and already doing the january grocery challenge for that!
(Have to admit though, bought some things on amazon yesterday, so on 0/10 NSDs so far...:p)“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Morning all
Today is number 2/20 for me and as I won't be out tomorrow I should hopefully get number 3 tomorrow :j
I should have been debt free last year and although it didn't quite work out like that, I did manage to pay down over £3500 of debt. The main thing that helped with this was NSDs - I was amazed at how much difference they made. I'm determined this is the year!
Have a good day all
