Flourgirl - I just double checked and it is £29.85 for a 12 week subscripton, and you do get £30 cashback so it's a great option if you can't get to/ or afford ww.
I hope you don't mind me pointing it out - I was looking at if for myself but I need someone to shout at me if I put on.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Anglea - well done on your willpower, this group is working already!
Elysia - well done for doing your 1/2 hour of exercise, we're proud of you. Has your dog calmed down yet?
Mrsow - that's fantastic that you've lost so much weight already! I'm sure you'll reach your goal.
Well, I went out for a walk with DH and DS but I can't really class it as much exercise. DS walks so slowly (he's only 3) that I felt like I was barely moving for a lot of it! I'm going to set the Wii up tonight (we moved 2 months ago and I still haven't unpacked it) and do my 1/2 hour of exercise - Elysia is my inspiration!
Ahh thanks - I'm so proud. I've never been called that before. :AI :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

So VERY JEALOUS of you Elysia and Blue-eyed-girl - I find it incredibly hard to lose weight. I have never been slim - since childhood I have been chubby and don't know how it feels to be slim (or at least know and feel I am slim). I started putting weight on at about 8 yrs old partly because my mother listened to a quack who told her to give me a mars bar a day because I wouldn't eat and the discovery of books - I stopped running around. And then I discovered I did actually like food the unequal calories going in to the ones being used in play etc turned me into a butterball.
I look back now and see photos of me really ROUND and then in years later when I wasn't as porky as I thought to now at 17 and half stone. I owe it to my family to do something about it as well as myself. I too have Polycystic Ovaries, but have been blessed with 2 beautiful daughters (who came my way with very little trying - I guess we were lucky) but PCOS does make it harder to lose weight.
One fear I do have about being slim is that I won't like it! Sounds daft, but having never been a skinny minny how will if afftect me as my person??? Will my Hubby go off me? I have always had some "cushioning" (we've been together for 22 years since we were 14). He also has no confidence in me slimming down as I have tried lots of diets (ww, slimming world, etc etc) and none have ever worked for long and he is frank with his vote of no confidence in my ability. My kids are also conforming to his opinion. They all love me but have no confidence in me. Do I intentionally sabotage myself because I am scared of being slimmer, and how things may change? Do I hide behind my weight so I don't have to do things???? I.e. go out and have fun and be sexy??? The three of them are tall and slim and can eat whatever they want and I am short and fat and find it so hard.
SO..................
I have treated myself to an Xbox and kinect this christmas and a fitness game, and a dance game and start Cambridge on Monday. I did it for 3 weeks last yr and lost 13lb. But gave up (stoopid) I want to be in the 10s in weight just to say I can. I want to prove to my hubby and kids I am not a failure and have got willpower and I am hoping that this thought will spur me on this year.
Sorry for this rambling post, but to me dieting is as much a mental challenge as well as a physical one. And if you are gonna know me well you might as well see my faults as well and the nice bits. I can offload to you people because I don't have to look you in the eye.Donna
