That's a wonderful incentive. DH and I are going to try for our second child this year and I want to be much fitter and slimmer than I am now. I am hoping the thought of the future baby will spur me on whenever I feel like breaking my healthy eating :)

    Thank you NickyBo

I hadn't been diagnosed until just recently after lots of repeated trips to the docs until I found one willing to listen.

Even if pregnancy this year does not happen I don't want to reach next Christmas the same size I am now, I want to feel I am making a positive difference to my life :-)

  • Hi everyone

Really looking forward to getting back into some sort of routine with eating and exercise - I'm quite fed up with all these goodies that are still lying around the house. Yes I know they will look really unattractive on my hips but I can't quite bring myself to throw them out - what a waste of money that would be!! :rotfl:

Can I just say that this is only my second post ever anywhere so I if I don't get things quite right - plz don't shout at me just point me in the right direction - I'm getting on a bit and not really up to date with these things.

You seem a really friendly bunch and I'm looking forward to talking with you and if I can help anyone well that will be great.

    Bye for now

Your have to let me know what the shakes are like and if they work. good luck with the IVF. another 40 in March- what date, (mines 31st) xx

Hiya...I love the shakes....Butterscotch, Toffee/Walnut, Strawberry my favs....I add them to 500ml of coffee as a warming shake!!

March 11th is when I turn the BIG 40!!! Eeek!

Like the poster before me, I need to get my BMI down in order to get the IVF on the NHS, but I am under pressure as my appt is in February and they need me to start stimming on Day 21 and that has to be before my 40th Birthday, so Jan and Feb are going to be juggling dates!!!!!

OK the Big Weigh in this morning.... 203.8lbs....so I need to get to 182lbs to get the BMI down to stimming levels!!!

so lets call it an even 20lbs loss in 8 weeks......eeek!

Hi - blue eyed girl - welcome to the thread, and your post is perfect and if it wasn't, no-one would ever shout at you. ;)

Nellis - 20 lbs in eight weeks is very do-able. Are you cutting back or following a plan? I can't remember!

Whatever you decide - Don't be too strict on yourself. Keep focusing on the weightloss and the result at the end of it. You have to really picture the goal! That baby in your arms. :) It's what sportsmen do - they picture themselves at the winning line.

Did I say - I've done Paul Mckenna too? :rotfl:

I find the dieting easy - I think I've said that before. I've lost 7 stone three times, and millions of stones here and there in half hearted attempts. It's keeping it off, that I find difficult.

You CAN do it - WE can do it!!!

Well with my it has to be total abstinence to get me in the zone...I'm an all or nothing kinda gal....so for the next 8 weeks it's abstinence, then I will move up to Add a Meal per night, and slowly get back into food again....plus I need a good detox after Christmas!! :rotfl:

I have to say I'm amazed at the ones of you doing the Cambridge diet, I did that years ago after pregnancy and ended up in hospital  the doctors said it was the worst thing you can ever do.

I don't know if they changed how it's done now, when I did it, was meal replacement bars.

The worst one now Anglea is Lighterlife - less than 500 cals per day. People have died.

One of my friends did that and ended up anorexic.

Hi Julie - please join in.

Most of us are starting on Monday. Are you starting then, or today?

I have a new game for the Wii, Your Shape, so I'm going to have a go later, if I can get my bum off this chair. LOL

ETA. I WILL get my bum of this chair. Bye for now, catch you later.
