    Hi I will join in.

Because of ibs I keep gaining and losing weight, it never seems to stay still.

I want to loose some to counterbalance the yo yo effect so I have clothes that fit me as one day they are so loose they are falling off me, and at the end of the week they are too tight to get on.

I'm an excercise addict and because of ibs only eat small portions of food I can tolerate. Even doing this, I still gain weight if my stomach flares up. The worst thing for me is stress and not enough sleep.

So ideally I'd like to relax more and see if that makes any difference.

I would love to be able to have a wardrobe of clothes I can actually wear!
  • Can I join in too? What a great idea. I have managed to lose around five stone over the past seven months by eating healthy stuff and going to the gym twice a week and generally trying to become more active. I have found things quite difficult over the hols as we seem to have had a loads of extra goodies around for 'visitors' - any excuse! Even though I have lost a considerable amount of weight - I still have a long long way to go - ideally another five stones. My gym sessions and weigh-ins are due to start next wed so hopefully we will be able to support each other over the coming months. I look forward to receiving any support you can give me with my massive challenge.

Best wishes and good luck to you all for 2011. x

plz count me in as well

this last year ive been more of a lurker on here than a poster

my weight has always been an issue-i remember being a size 18 when i was 11 years old
ive followed most of the well known diet plans and whilst they do work its my willpower that doesnt
the best weight loss i had was doing WW a number of years ago and used the chat room which has now finished(in fact met my ,now hubby,on there)
I also have health issues unrelated to my weight but im sure the excess blubber doesnt help

ideally would love to loose 7-8 stones butIm so daunted by this HUGE amount

hubby and i had decided to start healthy eating again once all the cr*p that we got for xmas was finished-most of it already gone if im honest as i didnt buy all that much in

well will read with great enthusiasm all your posts and will hopefully contribute well myself

Just as I wrote this i got an email from Dax Moy diets, its a free weight loss campaign, its not the easiest and I could not do it but a friend of mine does it often to detox herself, its basic stuff but he knows what he is talking about, was not sure if i could link it but it will come up in a search ;-)

  • Evening all

Please can I join, I currently weigh around 16st 12lbs (shocking I know). I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember, but there are a couple of reasons I am making 2011 MY YEAR.

    1. I suffer from poly cystic ovary syndrome
    2. We have been trying to concieve for 9 years with no success and I must get to a BMI of at least 35 in order to get fertility treatment on the NHS
    3. I want to be able to shop anywhere
    4. I want to prove to people that I am not just plain, fat, unattractive Sarah.

The MOST important thing now is I want a child more than anything in this world, to hold a baby which will in time call me mummy.

So these are my reasons and 2011 will be the year I succeed in not allowing the weight to be an issue. Although I have tried many, many diets but this time I have realistic goals (7lbs a month) and I aim to achieve them through cutting out the crap and reducing my portion sizes along with regular exercise.

Hope I have not bored you all too much and I am looking forward to shedding this weight :-)

  • What's Zumba like then Susiecm3 and anyone-else who's been? Seen a few ads on TV for DVDs of it - looks like a bit of a party. Is it? What kind of age of people generally go to these classes?

Thank you everyone, I really didn't expect the thread to kick off do quick, but thats brilliant.
I know its sounds daft, but for whatever reason we're all in the same boat, and I reckon the support from each other - will work wonders.
Updated the lists - if anyone wants their goals, weight or anything just let me know and I can update as and when.
Thank you all, and heres to a slimmer 2011 xx
