    Can I join too

Hi I need to lose 4 stone I have been trying unsuccessfully for 6 years.
    (well have lost 2 stone)
I started back at WW on 11/1/11 so next Tuesday will be my first weigh in after starting.

    starting weight 14st 13lbs

My downfall has always been chocolate so its all or nothing. Missed it for the first few days but seem to have it under control for the moment.

In October this year we are having our dream holiday and I do not want it spoilt by my weight problem. Also next year I will be 60 and that is scary enough without being fat.

looking forward to getting to know you.

  • :hello:

Welcome Glendam - good luck with your challenge. Bet you are really looking forward to your dream holiday - you have really got something to aim for

I've had a sneaky peek at the scales this morning (naughty I know) - oh dear me - wish I hadn't bothered - if anything weight has gone up since wed. Trouble is - I've been good - few cheats and plenty of fruit and veggies. Oh well all will be revealed later in the week.

On the brighter side - I am now using the last hole of my belt (whippee). When I started losing weight back in June 2010 I was using a size L from Evans and wearing mostly size 30/32. I then progressed to a size M belt - this is the one I'm wearing now (clothes size mainly 22). Next time I go shopping I'm going to get a size S - if I can't get it to fasten I will use it as a sort of guide to see how much my waist is changing. I know I probably wouldn't get into S/M belts from other shops - but it's progress. Can't bring myself to getting the tape measure out yet :rotfl:

Hope you all have a good day.

  • Hi Everyone

Well done on the losses this week. I had my weigh in this morning and have lost 3lbs this week. Much better than last week. I havent exercised as much and my measurements have stayed the same. Unfortunately we've eaten out twice this week. Had roast chicken, mash & veg and the second time was a carvery, so not too bad - no chips lol. Really had craving for chocolate yesterday and I succumbed (sp?) but today is another day. Been good so far lol. Just had a mushroom omlette for dinner.

Donzerella - I'm following the old ww points (not attending meetings). Last week I struggled to eat my points everyday and only lost 1lb but this week I've eaten every single one and lost 3lbs. Try taking your measurements - sometimes you will lose inches but dont lose weight. It can help if you can still see a difference somewhere. Keep on it, it will catch up in the end.

    Newbie here!

I have never really been on a proper diet and, of course, always been overweight.

About 3-4 years ago, i started in a new job where junk food was always at hand! I put on about 1 1/2 stone!!!

So about 2 years ago, I thought I would try and lose some for my Holiday. I did actually lose 1 stone. I done this through exercise alone whilst eating mostly the same foods. I have kept that off as i have continued to do the exercise but I still need to lose weight and cant really lose much more this way (the initial stone was lost in the first month or two, with nothing much since).

So... i have finally gone on a proper diet.

i joined Weight Watchers on Sunday! joined online (via Quidco). I have found it really easy to input the food/drink i am consuming! I think it really helps to see everything written down - sometimes that chocolate biccy you have with your tea goes unnoticed!

I would really like to lose 2 stone! this should take me from a 16 to a 12 (i was told that 1 stone is approximate to 1 dress size?? - please let me know if i am wrong). I think this is achievable. So fingers X ed (for everyone else too), i will be reporting some good news on here!

Now, i just need to read all the previous posts!!!! that may take a while!!
  • hi satnav10, welcome, im the same around a 16 sometimes 14 bottoms, but would love to be a comfy 12 (and then maybe a 10!) so good luck :)
One day I will live in a cabin in the woods
  • Dreading SW tonight girls, eaten and drank far too much over the last week! Lots of lovley food and loads of wine. It was my birthday on wednesday so i suppose i have a good enough excuse!! The scales dont know that though!! LOL!
Have been good yesterday and today so hopefully that will make up for it.
Been to Zumba this morning and did go swimming on saturday.
Hopefully it will be a maintain. I really dont want a + in my book, thats very optimistic thinking right now!!

Well done to everyone. Any weight loss is a good one!! :T

  • Firstly congratulations ladies, your weight loss is fantastic!

I started a low GI diet today, I have Poly Cystic Ovaries and apparently this is the best diet to follow - I don't quite get the GI's on all foods, but I seem to have grasped the basics, I'm 11stone 4, and Ideally want to be 10stone.
Look forward to joining you all x

You're not the only one! lol. I am over 17st (been struggling with my weight since childhood) and have PCOS too. I started weightwatchers last week and despite 1 day where I messed up my points I think I have done quite well.

    Weigh In Day is tomorrow.
