    Hiya everyone,

Just wanted some advice, I tried Avon a couple of years ago however my sister has done Avon for years and therefore I struggled to gain customers as family and friends etc were loyal to my sister, anyway she has recently decided to give it up so I am considering having another go and taking on her customers etc however I wondered if I would be able to re join?

I dont want to be considered a time waster or anything?? xxx

    Hi Muffin,

Of course you can rejoin (provided you didn't owe Avon money when you stopped doing it, of course).

General concensus is to find yourself a good SL to help support you and guide you through all the hints and tips (although this thread is such a great support too :T ). If you apply to the website, your details will be passed to the Area Sales Manager and it's then up to them whether to sign you up direct or pass you down to one of the SL's on their team.

What area are you in? There's actually another Avon thread on here, which a lot of us have 'subscribed' to, including a poll so you might be able to find a SL close to you on there. You can find it by doing a search for Avon (or I'll post this and then edit my message to include a link for you).

Don't give it a second thought - sounds like you've got a ready-made customer base so don't lose them!

Good luck with your new Avon business. :j

I've been asked if I am interested in becoming a sales leader! should I go for it? only been doing it since jan! my sales leader says she is inundated with people atm.

Depends how confident you are feeling about Avon in the first place. Some people do sign up and go straight into Sales Leadership but the only one I've ever met had a long background in Sales anyway.

I waited about 6-8 months before considering SLship. My upliner mentioned it to me a few times before I eventually felt ready. Don't be pushed into it before you feel ready for it (I could be on the totally wrong track here but it could be that your SL is wanting to rise through the ranks and she needs an extra SL on her team to push her up.... ;) )

SLship will cost you money initially and takes a lot of time so basically up to you whether that appeals to you.

    Good luck, whatever you decide.

quick question! recieved a text from my SL saying that i've got a large order saved and whether i was going to submit it or not! (meant to of gone in last night- I think!) how does she know what i've got saved???

As your Sales Leader should've explained, they can view your Avon website on theirs. Makes sense really because they can then help support you i.e. I keep an eye on my teams orders to suggest Creative Ordering opportunities. Sometimes they tweek their orders, sometimes they don't but it's their choice. Your SL (and ASM) can even place orders on your behalf (but should only do so with your written permission) - it's all part of your support network.

hiya ladies! long time no see!
Well... i'm afraid i am a failure!! I have given up.
Simply because my ASM is alllllllllllllllllllllways out of the country so im never able to query anything with her, when i do query anything she says she will get back via e-mail and she never does, OH is having to miss an hour overtime every night that i need to go and do everything avon related, therefore he is losing more money than im making. I cant possibly put much more time into it as im stuck for time as it is, my little girl is missing out on me time etc so i have sent a note out with c4 saying that after c5 i will no longer be doing avon. Its a sad day and i have had such fun but its time for me to finish :( xx

What a shame, LP, especially if you've been enjoying it. Will PM you.

I would think hard about it because if you're only just learning about avon yourself, how are you supposed to pass on your knowledge to your reps? I have been repping since sept and i wouldnt consider myself ready to take on a SL role yet. Also, you may decide, like me, after a few months that its not financially viable so you will have recruited some reps and have to let them down if you decide that avon isnt for you. Your SL/ASM may well just be trying to make more money out of you... its a shame some are like that!

This is my thoughts. I think until I know more about not only Avon it'sself but SLship then I will be able to make a decison about what is best.

Oh what a shame, do you work full time too? I am quite lucky in that I am home with DD although I fit my work mostly around her playgroup she has 3 times a week. Delivery day, I do go out late afternoon for a few hours so DH has to do dinner (!). It's the dropping and picking of brochures I find that takes up the time. I do use the car but have my finger in a lot of pies so it's a case of trying to juggle the time.

Is there any help we can give you to make you reconsider? Just looking at some of your earlier posts and you were so enthusiastic.

    :( (((((((Johanne))))))))))))))

and I did try to hook nicki up with an SL, but think ASM got in first?

The SL didn't get back to me and I had the job centre breathing down my neck about getting a job so I signed up via the website thinking it would take a week or so for someone to get in touch. Next thing I know the ASM was phoning me the next day & had me signing me up within 2 days :rotfl:

Johanne has been a big help and if it wasn't for knowing how much she already has on her plate I'd say she should go for SL. BUT her health & family are more important ;)
