I have decided to give up. Have thought long and hard about it all day and I think it is the best thing all round. Also I am losing my interest in it and thats not fair on my customers, I think it's got to be all or nothing tbh.
Can anyone advise me on how to construct a note to my customers? as in what to say?
Have emailed you (sorry, been a bit busy today) - you don't need to give up, just take a break.... why would you deprive yourself of all the Avon goodies coming up for your own personal use after you paid your sign-up fee? Doesn't make sense. Become a personal rep and keep your a/c open.
Sorry, digressing. You could drop your customers a little note along the lines of:
"Thanks for your support to date; am taking a little break for personal reasons so this will be my last campaign for a while. I'll ask my team leader to make sure you're looked after in future by another rep. but feel free to keep my details; I'll gladly let you know as/when I'm restarting my Avon business again."
Chances are people will order more because they'll feel they need to support you and/or it will spur them on because they won't be getting another book. (Quite often when starved of a book, it encourages non-orderers.)Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I am a Kleeneze distributor and have 2 customer who are desperate for an Avon catalogue on a regular basis. I have spoken to an agent 2 to 3 weeks ago but she still has left them a catalogue and each have gone on line to request but not had any sucess. Can you advise please.
Realise we're in open forum but if you're happy to mention a local post code maybe one of our subscribers may be somewhere near? Alternatively, there's another thread on here where certain subscribers have listed where they are in the UK. Just search 'Avon' and sure you'll find it.
Failing that, like Lozza, I am also in touch with 'a fair amount' of other Avon reps in Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire, London area, East Anglia and Scotland so if your customer is anywhere in amongst that lot, then let me know and I'll see what I can do.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Thanks for this,
I emailed my SL today and it turns out that Avon is on the backburner with her too, she has forwarded her email to the ASM
I'm not sure if I can still be a rep and get maternity allowence though, think will have to make a few more phone calls!
Will look at the email:)
Must admit I am really worried about doing a tax return I can't even remember my log in:(Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

I have been asked to take over avon just for our office and maybe a couple of friends. I wouldnt be doing it for earnings and would do what my colleague did, using any commission to purchase goods for christmas, my family use or similar.
I just wondered whether I have to become self employed. I am working part time but receive top up housing benefit, having been in rented accommodation since the break-up of my marriage so naturally don't want to get involved if I am likely to be breaking any rules as such and as I'm not looking at earning from it as such or indeed regularly.
And just to clarify I am not suggesting I am taking benefits as opposed to earning as I do currently work for the govt (who are not giving out extra hours at the moment) so if it involves any hassle as such I'll let someone else take it on!!!
Thanks in advance for any advice.
When you say 'take over Avon' do you mean by starting up as an Avon rep yourself or taking over their a/c? Obviously, if the latter then strictly speaking any income will 'belong' to the a/c holder anyway.
If you are thinking of starting up as an Avon rep yourself, you will be told that you are considered self-employed for tax/NI purposes and it is up to you to advise HMRC.
Don't be put off though; everyone's circumstances are different. HMRC are well aware that as an Avon rep you are entitled to claim for all your costs i.e. books, bags, demo products, fuel/travel costs, phone, internet and even a proportion of your heating/lighting costs. In my experience, monetary-wise you will not earn a great deal of income by being an Avon rep.... there are other advantages though as you already know.
I'd say go for it! :jMake the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hmm... Not easy for you if your upliner's coasting too.... Good luck with the phone calls. Call me too if you fancy; know absolutely nothing about Benefits but can certainly help guide you as to how to get the best out of Avon and/or make it fit in with your life.
You've lots to think about but don't waste energy worrying about tax returns; you're coming up to a very important new stage in your life - that takes priority; enjoy!Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hiya hun, please remember you can work '10 days' whilst on MA.Don't let that be the end for you as once you finish MA you will be better off doing Avon. If you want more info please pm me. I may be a touch slow tomorrow as will be in my 'proper' job! But will get back to you and help as much as i can. Please also remember that stopping now does not mean you don't have to submit your return. Contact the revenue and explain you have forgotten your details and ask them to re-send. Even when you finish being self employed ALWAYS complete any assessments sent to you, even if they say zero. My friend fell foul of this in another trade, so please take care to respond to anything you receive.
Sure the subject of MA and other benefits is a minefield; sounds like you know quite a bit about it..... Just a thought, is there anything you could let lozza know that she can post up on the first page of our threads i.e. to help our subscribers?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Thanks so much for your help guys.
With a bit of creative canvassing and threatening my mates I managed to get £140 in orders. I did a little cry that I was so close to HOV but then found out my brochure etc purchases actually count! (Another snippet of info that I never got told about!)
Well, it turns out it was actually my area manager who signed me up. I got an email the other day saying I had been added to somebodys downline group on Avon Connects so I can only imagine that is my SL. I have no idea who she is and have never heard a peep out of her - good to know she'll potentially be earning commission from me for her excellent training!
Never mind. I'll just focus on me and mine, and get all the advice I need from you wonderful people :T0 -

Well done for hitting HOV! :T If your ASM signed you up then you will be 'tagged' direct to her not to any SL. The Group on AC she's mentioned will purely be to help support you re. any queries etc. i.e. if she's too busy.
All direct applications to Avon go to the relevant ASMs and usually it's up to them whether to do the sign-ups themself or pass them on to their SLs. (Gather they are being encouraged not to pass them on at the mo for some reason but no idea why.)
Incidentally, there is a cut-off point where it makes sense to make sure you hit HOV (whether you have sufficient customer orders or not) e.g.:
£130 customer orders - 20% commission = £108 nett to you
£148 customer orders - 25% commission = £111 nett to you
So, essentially, the extra order for £18 worth of goods actually only costs you £3 :j (That's got to be one of the best investments going! LOL)

Think I might add this onto the first post as it gets asked/mentioned quite frequently and it's definitely useful to know! :beer:Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
