Knocking is probably better for getting definates (sometimes folks tick nothing!) but I'm too nervous (even though I meet strange folks in their own home all the time in my other job).
Some knock and some stuff and run - do what feels right for you.
Oh and welcome :wave:to our thread
Thanks Money maker, keEp changing my mind about how to go about getting more customers thought knocking was more personal but bit nervous, will decide once the ASM gets back to me about what territory is available.0 -
Well quite pleased got most of our books in today, only a few outstanding to get tomorrow, and got £260 so far which were pleased with even if it is half of what we usually get - saying as most people will be skint/had smellies for Xmas it's a pleasant surprise.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Well Ive still got C1 books to put out! I decided to give C2 a miss and Im glad I did as for the past 3 weeks Ive been too ill with flu to leave the house. So today I was brave(or stupid) and delivered the items Id been shorted in C18 ordering and dropped off books to 20 people. Still got about 40 to do by Thursday! Collecting some on Thurs(tonights drop) Popping some out tomorrow to collect Weds and some will be collected Thurs in the hope I can cover my round without killing myself but the cold damp air for just an hour has had a bad effect tonight!
Going to get one of my grown up kids to do the drops on the next campaign(c3 for me)so I can sit in the car and bide my time for full recovery.
Maybe I need to do it this week too! Determined not to let people think I have forgotten them and want to ensure nobody nicks my customers too as one road on my newer territory has a poacher on it! I did put in an order for c1 but it was actually a c18 topup and I made it up myself to the Min OV with eyeliners and foundation which should sell later. I MUST STOP STOCKING UP ON STUFF!!!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
busyrascal79 - when you say you want to do territory near your F+F I'm guessing they don't live in the streets surrounding where you live? I'm just asking because when the ASM assigns territory they find streets closest to you. If you give them a postcode for your F+F area they'll look for streets in that area instead. I've heard of reps who have a territory near work, rather than home.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.
I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Happy New Year all! Hope you are feeling fresh for the new year!
aureol212 I was trying out the nectar thing too - as far as I can see on my statement it hasn't worked but I'm not sure I had that many points before. Also the points on my statement add up to less than the total at the bottom?...Not sure if that has anything to do with it?! But I will note my total now and then try again this time.
National insurance I'm sure someone on the old thread (sorry I can't remember who!) mentioned they had had a NI bill. I've just been sent the same but I am very confused as I havn't provided them with any information about my earnings yet (not due to be filled out yet) so don't know where they have got the number to bill me from...anyone come accross this?0 -
Hey dingdong, Ni isn't based on your earnings it is a set figure, the same for every self employed person you pay every quarter, or monthly by dd. it is about £30 a quarter.
When you register as self employed you automatically become eligible to pay your NI unless you apply for a small earnings exemption certificate, though I never have so don't know what the low earnings threshold is.Life is a work in progress0 -
Thanks so much for your reply I am glad someone can shed some light on it as my sales leader wasn't sure either!0

Just looking on direct.gov.uk and it says:
If you earn less than £5,075 per year you can apply for a certificate of small earnings exception and not pay Class 2 National Insurance contributions.
I wonder if that means if you earn less than £5,075 in Avon or altogether (I work full time too!)0 -
dingdong - it's your self employed earnings...
You already pay NI on your normal salary usually but if you call them they will be happy to check for you
I asked them a million questions when I registered just over a year ago (the tax people not Avon lol) - I knew I'd only be doing something like £500 over the year (I was out by £20 lol) so they gave me an exemption certificate and although I have reasonable salary from my main job it means I don't have to pay any on my SE earnings which helps
Soooo... New Year... Started my new territory this week - dropped about 35 houses and got about 15 books back lol HOWEVER looks like one lady is a real good lead - she wants to order by email and her kids are fighting over the brochure lol - she also gave me her MILs details who wants Avon and says she always has people asking her about it as she knows someone who does it but it's a faff... Apparently my road has had 4 reps in the last 6 months - all people who have rented a room nearby and then dropped the brochures and either not collected them or never delivered the orders... the fact my brochures came with a news letter and a leaflet explaining who I was and to tick if they don't want any more brochures etc she said looked really professional and she thinks once people realise I'm regular they will order! Fingers crossed! I know she'll be putting out the word for me!
And then tonight a friend of mine who orders from me sent me a mail with a.... wait for it....
£70 order! YAY!!!!!So excuse me whilst I hop up and down with joy!!!
