If those 4 out of 38 houses all turn into customers then that's about average. Avon expects about 1 in 3 (if you ever get a chance to see the stats for your streets). Did the remaining houses all give a definite no? I put people I'm not sure about on every other campaign for a few campaigns before giving up completely.

I came across many grumpy people today and books weren't left out/ignored even though they were in and looked me in the eye through the window. Then I remembered it's almost up to the "most depressed day" in the year - 3rd Monday of Jan I think it is. It just seemed like a lot of people were in the dumps. Customers and potential customers, however, were lovely as usual. :)

I only picked up 2 new customers from 57 books dropped. 2 more people said they'd like more in future. 27 needed reminders. I had about 5 tell me they'd been chucked out.

On the plus side: sold an Anew skincare product! This was a brand-new customer who hadn't even had a sample.

No some were people that didn't answer so will have to go back round tomorrow. I am guessing though that they aren't interested cos if they were they would have put it out.

Good point about the most depressing day of the year coming up, everyone did seem pretty moody today.

Thanks for your answer though Geek, cos being new to it I thought I might get like 4 orders but none at all.

I don't get why people don't read the little ditty on the font and leave it outside, why do people chuck them out!?!?

Hi there, I have just started Avon. Books went out on friday and I collected them back again today, wasn't a great day- one woman came out of her house and asked me why I was standing outside someones house writing (in the calling book) and then proceeded to tell me that the homeower was no interested and probably would never give the book back, at one house someone recycled it, and 4 houses told me they already had someone covering their area!

So not good,:( I don't have a lot of confidence anyway so a woman having a go at me today didn't help. Had no orders and out of 38 houses only 4 asked to see another brochere:(

    Is this normal?

I've been told by peoples neighbours that they wouldn't be interested, I still carry on unless the person in the house tells me otherwise. I was given my own street as territory and when I first started I had a few people tell me they already had a rep covering the street. When I asked my SL, she said someone did the street but not properly so I could have it. But I think some customers tend to get protective for their reps - I hope my customers get like that!! Turns out the woman who does my street does have a few regulars but doesn't seem to canvass to anyone else anymore.

Don't give up just yet. As people always say on here, people take a while you've just got to persevere and you will gain their trust eventually.

Am I right in thinking I can let my customers order the £4 foundations in C3 without getting an old foundation off them? I don't do territory, just F&F so don't really want to rob people of half a bottle of foundation if I don't need too :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: xx

yes thats right, there is no need to get any old foundation off people. just tell them to keep it. x

That was what I was going to do. I think the woman who does those few houses knows them anyway not because it is her area.

But yeah I guess you're right it's bout trust and perseverance- thanks:)

Yes, you got it! :T I tell my customers about Avon's swap scheme but tell them just to order at the lower price (I don't want a load of extra rubbish to throw away).

PS: Oops, see CL beat me to it!

Hang in there - it does get easier, honest. The hardest bit is establishing your customer base at the outset.

Lots of us have designed our own little notes to drop through the door to let people know you've called for the book/order and when you'll be going back. Not sure if they're mentioned at the beginning of the thread but PM me if you'd like me to send you a few ideas.

As for why some people throw their books out, I think it's their little petty vengeance for being bothered in the first place. If my books have obviously been left out and been ruined then they don't get another one. Their loss!

Hi everyone from a once-in-a-while poster......

I am close to running out of my Avon Naturals Replenishing Shampoo(Ginseng and Bamboo 'flavour') and I can't seem to find it in any of the brochures I have currently - has it been discontinued or can one of you lovelies tell me where I can find it, please?

    TIA Neffy x

Since posting the above I have found this shampoo was 'last chance to buy' in Campaign 1 brochure...............:o

However, I don't know if it has appeared in clearance......anyone?
