    Afternoon ladies!
One of my customers was asking if Avon still did the purple mascara as she loves it... I can't see it in the books but thought as a favour I'd see if any of you lovelies had one hidden away in your stashes :)

Is this something you do to houses on your territory that haven't ordered before, or do you do this on houses which aren't on your territory?
  • Don't know for sure but one says it takes 6 batteries and the other says it takes 4 so looks like they're different. The sizes quoted are slightly different too. (Avon prob just used the wrong photo for one of them.)

Why not order both and then see which you/r customer prefers?

Was getting a little carried away doing my order, a customers ordered one from the book, but it's a little cheaper in HT, but I always forget there's no discount on HT, so it's cheaper to just order as I should anyway.

    Hope that makes sense!

only for houses on my territory - you cannot canvass for customers on territory that isn't yours, even with using leaflets or expired brochures as it could be someone elses territory, or if it then gets allocated to a new rep, it would leave them with no customers.

Cos I've been doing it for a while, theres no point me delivering & collecting books, as slim chance of picking up new customers (when I first started delivered about 5 books in a row). Now I just canvass this way using old books, still picks me up the odd new customer where people have moved in/kids come back home etc.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

You've got a memory like an elephant! :rotfl:

Or another spin on it - instead of '50th year in the UK' make reference to 'its 125th anniversary this year' i.e. per C6
Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon ;))
  • If anyone has an 'expired brochure' leaflet they wouldn't mind sharing with me please PM :)

Also is there anyone who has had any joy from avon connect (new customers) as I have given up on it completely!

I didn't realise how many of the campaigns were short so only given brochures to about 18 customers this time, will collect on wednesday in time for the order to go in on thursday. Could really do with a few extra pennies at the moment and doing every thing I can to make some! Continuing with online surveys and going to ratch for a few ebay items, although its not long since I ebayed last so not sure if I've got anything worthwhile selling!

would you mind me asking what surveys you do? im thinking of doing some but not sure which ones are better to do!

as for the avon connects for new customers ive given up as well. may go back and have another look later on and got more time to go on that site!! x

Hi there, I have just started Avon. Books went out on friday and I collected them back again today, wasn't a great day- one woman came out of her house and asked me why I was standing outside someones house writing (in the calling book) and then proceeded to tell me that the homeower was no interested and probably would never give the book back, at one house someone recycled it, and 4 houses told me they already had someone covering their area!

So not good,:( I don't have a lot of confidence anyway so a woman having a go at me today didn't help. Had no orders and out of 38 houses only 4 asked to see another brochere:(

    Is this normal?

If those 4 out of 38 houses all turn into customers then that's about average. Avon expects about 1 in 3 (if you ever get a chance to see the stats for your streets). Did the remaining houses all give a definite no? I put people I'm not sure about on every other campaign for a few campaigns before giving up completely.

I came across many grumpy people today and books weren't left out/ignored even though they were in and looked me in the eye through the window. Then I remembered it's almost up to the "most depressed day" in the year - 3rd Monday of Jan I think it is. It just seemed like a lot of people were in the dumps. Customers and potential customers, however, were lovely as usual. :)

I only picked up 2 new customers from 57 books dropped. 2 more people said they'd like more in future. 27 needed reminders. I had about 5 tell me they'd been chucked out.

On the plus side: sold an Anew skincare product! This was a brand-new customer who hadn't even had a sample.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • I've got one customer who loves the Anew stuff and orders something nearly everytime, she's just ordered one of the serums which also happens to be in HT with the free gift ;)

Am I right in thinking I can let my customers order the £4 foundations in C3 without getting an old foundation off them? I don't do territory, just F&F so don't really want to rob people of half a bottle of foundation if I don't need too :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: xx
