I have been an Avon rep for two years, many lovely customers but sadly a few who order loads then return it a week later, Avon now have contacted my area mgr to say they want to close my acc as I'm not profitable to them, and i have a high return and missing items !!! Also i seem to have found i'n the last 6 months my orders are always wrong/short of items. I am so mad it's avons policy things can be tried and returned if not liked !!! Has anyone else had a similar issue, i feel for all the work i put i'n I'm getting a slap on the wrist not a pat
On the back, on a plus side have picked up 5 new customers from a new road and recanvasing an existing road, so sales have nearly doubled now

    Many thanks sarah

Never heard of that before... Hmmm.... Sounds to me like they are insinuating you are being less than honest? Is that your take on things too?

I've never had a problem being allocated credit for missing items although I have heard of reps claiming credit for things being missing even when they're in the box! (Makes me wonder if that practice is common and, maybe Avon are taking steps to sort out the rogues.... Who knows?)

Really don't know what to suggest other than email your ASM/DSM and plead your case. If you are still an active rep, maybe when you next send some returns, take a photo before sealing the box and then see if they argue that things haven't been returned....

    Good luck with that one.

As for my other (sorry) rather obtuse comment, SL's earn commission based on their team's nett sales so it is possible to earn extra commission by 'giving away' your sales i.e. extra commission or the 'accolade' of personal PC membership. Each to their own.

No need to apologise, I didn't get it cos I don't understand how the commission works for sales leadership.

Looking at the website I've still got a way to go before I actually achieve PC, but I've got the sales on target now so just need to keep them up, don't even know what the benefits of PC are apart from cheaper books - but then I don't order anywhere near that many books anyway :o. But still it sounds good.

Never heard of anything like that, and I have sent loads of stuff back before - I have read somewhere, not sure whether on here or connects though, of people having loads missing from their deliveries, to the point where Avon have seemed to doubt them, but I think it's always worked out fine in the end. I have had the odd thing missing from my delivery too, my first campaign was missing an item and I was panicking they wouldn't believe me :o, but the most I've ever had was 3 items missing from one delivery, but generally my orders are normally right.

Can't see any problem with the returns though, after all it is Avon's return policy to accept back things that have been used.

sadly,I think it is in the agreement, that if they feel you are making too many returns, etc they can close your account.

I don't have access to the T&C anymore, etc, but maybe someone has and can have a look?

I agree with MC though, you should take it higher, put a case to your DSM and ASM, that you are not being dishonest. That you have customers that take advantage of the 90 day guarantee and are you expected to tell them it no longer applies to them?

I used to have a customer that regularly returned half her order!

And as for the missing items, that is their packing problem, not yours!

Does anyone know if supershock gel eyeliner has been discontinued? Is my absolute favourite, and haven't been able to find it in a while. Now it is in clearance in HT12, but sold out :( If anyone can point me in the direction of some I will be grateful, almost out. (Black please)
Haven't seen anywhere that it was going, or I would have stocked up.
Will have some miffed customers too, who I encouraged to try and and now they love it, I can't supply it
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

Is there not a difference between a genuine return and people taking the mick?
Are you allowed to drop customers you think are taking the mick - surely any business can do that legally?

The whole idea of giving people re-assurance is to encourage them to try new things, but would anyone take half their shopping back to Tescos on a regular basis?

I would drop them, any business is fully entitled to refuse to serve customers.

Think you'd made a very valid point there - the other PC rep in our town is giving up after the current campaign. She used to buy the PC pack of books but ended up throwing a lot away because she didn't need that many - even though she gave every customer both books every campaign! What a waste (of books and creative ordering opportunities). Makes you wonder...... Her campaign orders are generally £7/800 and she's giving up because she can't do with the hassle or, as she put it, her earnings from Avon don't warrant the time it takes!

All the benefits of PC are on your website; I became a TSL immediately after achieving Bronze so the benefits of both sort of blended into one but pretty sure there's something about additional orders (possibly free but Avon could've changed that now I guess) attracting the same commission level as your main order; you get a PC diary; earn points for free goods. When you achieve Bronze think you earn 2000 points (about enough for a sandwich toaster). Oh, the best bit is that you get access to the PC Helpline - someone, who speaks/understands English! :T

No guarantee it'll be in stock, of course, but Supershock Gel Eyeliner Pencil is in HT14 Clearance 'Steel' and 'Black Shimmer' @ £1.99

Thanks MC. Having no luck finding the black :( So annoying. What is the point in encouraging customers to find a prduct they like, only for it to be discontinued without a word
I am a wee bit fed up with avon atm. I seem to be on the wrong end of their lousy customer service far too often.

For Avon to complain about returns is ridiculous. Example: I had no orders for Fit Flops at all. (White ones a while ago) I decided to get some and see if when I had them to hand I could sell them on the basis I would be able to return them. I sold 10 pairs. (£100 Avon wouldn't have had)
The black ones came up, again no orders. I have done the same thing, and have now sold just short of 20 pairs, when they were a higher price than they are in C10. (£229.50 Avon wouldn't have had)

Think that covers it really as well as the fact it is THEIR guarantee and THEIR selling point!! Rant over!!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

made pc twice... bronze benefits basically are:
    • a free diary
    • a pin badge
    • a telephone help line in britain
    • 100 books for £11.50 saving about £3 i think on normal price of buying 100 books. but buy 105 and you'll have to pay the extra 50p a pack of whatever they are..
    • a " pc dinner" in the sept AFTER you qualify (so least 9 months after!!) which last year was a christmas dinner (!!!) with a goody bag of few avon bits and some entertainment in a hotel.... and a big sales push for all the christmas stuff - oh and prizes for 1st/2nd/3rd in each area - think they got necklaces last year.
    • we earn commission on additional orders aslong as our main order hit MOV.... BUT we still have to pay £2.50 delivery unless your silver or gold.
    • the odd discount on packs in the HTs
    • a seperate hidden discussion place on connects
    • the ability to say your in the top 7% of reps in the country
