Woo hoo! Maybe it is the 12 campaigns? Don't look a gift horse in the mouthNow for the big decision..... Keep it or sell it??!!! lol
Is Tahitian Holiday completely new or revived? I just got it and totally love it! Just wondering if they do anything to go with it? Hawaiian shores has the gel and body mist, but I don't like that oneSuper picky! I love coconut smells in summer, so Tahitian is ideal for me.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -

I have ordered the demo of this, and thought it sounded lovely and summery, I also hope if its nice that they will do a matching range.:)Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:0 -
I was thinking of becoming an avon rep. I can see from this thread that a lot of people make little to no money (or end up in debt!) but what I was wondering was what is the situation at christmas time? I mean, surely customers snap up gift sets. Do any reps make a reasonable amount of commission at christmas that would make it worth it?0

I can't help you with xmas but I've been a rep for 2 campaigns and made £90 in one and £60 in the other. I have paid some of that back out for books/cards etc but that was my choiceMy Debt Free Diary

It's common to not make much money for your first few campaigns (so about 9 weeks). Christmas time brings in more sales, although if you were a rep just for the Christmas campaigns you may not get the sort of sales that an established rep, who works year-round, would see. Avon's self-employment and you're running your own business and like other start-ups it takes time to become established and you need to be prepared to work for little at the beginning.
There are things you can do to make sure you're using your time efficiently so you're getting a much as you possibly can out of the work you're putting in.
I can't remember reading of people in debt from Avon on this thread. Some reps spend on demos or things for themselves and maybe class that as not making anything. When doing my Avon accounts I always separate personal items so my end profit is what I've earned before I decide to buy anything for myself. We can return products bought to demonstrate to customers for a full refund, and return anything we've bought for ourselves that isn't quite right (saving money compared to getting toiletries and make-up from shops where you can't return used things).
I've never made a loss from doing Avon, get my own stuff cheaper or free and don't waste money on things that don't suit me. Last year's Christmas campaign (over 3 weeks) made me £100 - I'd been doing it since the August of that year.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I don't know of anyone ending up in debt either. Pretty much what IGeek said sums it up. As a general rule you get back what you put in. None of these things are get rich quick schemes. You can cut the cost of toiletries for your own household, and make money, but it's up to you what you end up with. You need to ask around and see if there are reps already serving the people you know, even find out how much interest there is and make an informed decision. I paid out quite a lot initially, because I chose to have flyers printed. I have found it effective and have lost less books, so as a long term thing it has benefited me. It's a case of working out what is best for you, and making it work for you. I think the biggest thing with Avon is that you need to enjoy it :AStill looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
Ok thanks for your help. I wasnt looking for a get rich scheme or anything like that but would be hoping to make around £1,000 a year after tax and envisioned making about half of this at christmas. I have friends who regularly buy from the website (skin so soft and make-up mostly) and said they would buy from me instead. I also have a very large family who regularly have get togethers. Maybe this is an unrealistic target but anything would help with my mortgage and bills!0

£1000 in earnings for the year sounds realistic. Depending on how orders go from your family and friends, you can always ask for some streets to cover. I'm in the opposite situation - tiny family who are all spread out - so I rely much more on territory sales, but you may find a network of family and friends is all you need if it's a big one.
Your sales will be higher at Christmas, but maybe not so much higher that it makes up half your earnings - it could be more evenly spread with a moderate peak at Christmas. I'm surprised at how often some people will order.
If you'd like to cover streets it would be worth starting now so that by Christmas people know you and are confident placing bigger orders. And there's still nothing stopping you starting now with family and friends, especially if serving them can fit in easily around other commitments - may as well start earning something.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. You sound like you are off to a good start. Things you have to remember:
First 2 campaigns you will pay Avon £7.50 out of your earnings - you do get your books etc for first 2 campaigns out of this.
Every camapaign thereafter: books plus optional things such as bags to keep your books dry, delivery bags etc.
It will take a few campaigns to earn trust from some customers before they order.
Always carry books with you ( in the car / under the buggy etc etc) this earns a surprising number of new customers. I have started calling on MIL's friends and got 3 new customers instantly.
Also: You need to declare as self employed
Check the 1st page of this thread for important info, then work your way through the entire thread, after that you shouldn't go far wrong!!! What area are you in? There maybe a SL on here near you.Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
I need a bit of advice if you don't mind ladies!
My balance at the moment is £238.78 but I have requested credits for 3 things now (2 in one "order" and 1 in another) totalling £55 brochure price that I have not sent back yet. Do I pay the £238.78 now and wait for the credits later or should I pay the £238.78 minus "my price" for the items I'm sending back?My Debt Free Diary
