Ohh MC I get you now :) yes I do, in most cases (although this lady actually ticked every other, which I forgot, but she has now put two orders in in a row :P)

Good girl! Sounds like ticking the 'every other' camp box was just her way of protecting herself from not feeling obligated to buy every campaign. Just tell her you're passing her door anyway and she can 'look for nothing' so you really won't be offended if she doesn't order every time.

Striking up a relationship and finding something in common with your customers is half the battle. After that Avon sells itself! :T

Quite a lot of SL's carry stocks of the more popular items.

Definitely lol, my conservatory is a mini warehouse pmsl! I usually buy a few of the items from HT that I know will be most popular with my customers, so that I know I've got some in stock in case of supply issues. Then I've got the bits from creative ordering...when things are super cheap offers...and the bargains from clearance HT pmsl!

How are you doing with your team MC? I've found recently I've had more time wasters - it used to be if I could get someone to sign up, then they'd order...however lately more people have been willing to sign, but then drop off the face of the earth lol and not respond to any form of contact...and lots of other SL have said the same.

However, the few that have managed to place an order, have done remarkebly well, better than usual for their first orders and much more motivated. So in that respect things are much better!

Have to say, I'm so glad that Avon have changed the rules re websites, so that we can have our own now. OH especially was pleased, kept him busy designing it pmsl. Think its much better as its much more personalised than the ones provided by Avon were.

    Hi lozza,

Have been away so not done much recruiting the last few months. Should have my first qualified SL though this week (should've happened 2 camps ago but I know a bit more about the pitfalls in that direction now too!)

So far though am tearing my hair out with the new Lead system - have done two appointments this week, spent loads of time getting them set up believing that Avon meant they'd been approved when they allocated a credit score and first order limit, only to find they've BOTH been rejected 48hrs later!! Doesn't make any sense to me so I'm now 50 books down, hours of wasted time and have reps gagging to start inputting their orders but can't do anything about it until Monday. Aaarrghhh! Avon mostly I  you but sometimes I really hate your systems!

My guess is that all the TV advertising is encouraging people to want to be reps but maybe the hype is giving the wrong impression i.e. it doesn't suit everyone and, strangely enough, some upliners are falling away too? Have my own thoughts on that one - not something to put in open forum though. ;)

Hope all is well in your world.

Know what you mean; can't resist a bargain myself! The odd 'clearance sale' tends to help but took me a while to cotton on to checking the oldest invoice on my system i.e. to minimise what I get stuck with permanently or have no other option but to buy myself (or sell of course). ;)

Yeah I've had one refused due to debt. Unfortunately this new system is the same as the old in that respect - you can get them an account number, then avon does more checks - and thats when they find out they have previous debt at an old address. Only good thing about this new system, is that you know within a couple of days. With the old way, it could be a good week, and of course in that time they've (hopefully) got orders.

yeah I know a few sl that are leaving, or at least just keeping things ticking over by ordering, but not recruiting - they have found it harder to get (good) reps, and the cost of petrol & books has made it un-feasible for them to continue - and thats long serving sl with decent sized teams.

I think a lot of the problems with cost is not being refunded for books when people don't order, I've lost a lot of money that way over the last couple of weeks, but I'll keep at it, I'm too stubborn to give up easily and I've been doing it too long now to give up!

Really think Avon's approval system is the pants. Cart and horse come to mind i.e. what's the point of confirming a first order limit before they've even credit checked the applicant?

Sorry for diverting the thread, everyone. Continue with the hints and tips. :money:

trouble is - I think the initial credit check isn't much of a check - it's more just judging the risk - age, length at address, whether married/single, rent/mortgage are the only factors considered. Then when the application is completed, they do more checks and check details against previous reps/addresses to check for debt - which is when they find people who are previous debtors and so close the new account. Very annoying - but other than them having to do a full check before us signing them - which they can't really do as the rep hasn't agreed to it they've only expressed an interest, until we complete the agreement. It sucks, but I think the only way to avoid this, is to make people pay the admin fee up front (which I think they have to do in the USA) before they are officially signed up, then they can do more checks - and at least then if they are refused avon has had some money off them! But - one of the good things about avon is the fact that we don't have to pay upfront. Catch 22 really!

Yes, see your point but essentially we're just being treated like donkeys to deliver books, check ID's, get the new reps gee'd up/excited and then Avon pull the rug from under them (and us)..... Not good. Why bother quoting a first order limit?

    Soz again peeps. :o

You have to press the continue button about 3 or four times, and on the screen where it says submit your order to Avon, there's the view subtotal button :)
