Hitting MOV and HOV - exceptions
A few months ago on here someone posted a couple of situations where hitting HOV or MOV could be effected even though it would be out of our control.
For example, one situation was that any items showing as OOS before your place your order don't count towards reaching MOV/HOV.
Would whoever posted these little loopholes mind posting them again, and also where you found them?
Thanks - someone on Connects had asked.
Not sure if it was me but one of my reps' commission was downgraded from HOV to MOV i.e. 25% to 20% because some items were out of stock. When I queried this with the SL Helpline they advised that if the items shorted were showing as red crosses at the time of ordering and/or were clearance items from HT then it was the rep's 'hard luck' if the shortages resulted in the order value being below £148 If, however, the shortages were from items in the current campaign book and showing in stock at the time of order Avon would honour the rep's HOV commission rate as it was Avon's fault.
Reading between the lines, it's a bit of a grey area if items are ordered out of a customer clearance book but shorted as they tend to be 'whilst stocks last'. To be on the safe side, therefore, always make sure you hit HOV excluding any clearance items and anything with a red cross against it at the time of order.
Hope that helps.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Only one yellow dot on my order thus far...really hoping it comes anyway! Got all the items I was missing from the last order in the post on Thursday and I'm humming and harring about whether to get them out this week or whether to just put them in with the official delivery I'm doing next week...

Depends how close they are to you, I guess, and how desperate your customers are for the items they're shorted.
You could always put the next books in with these late arrivals and then, hopefully, pick your next orders up at the same time as delivering the goods from your next scheduled delivery i.e. saving a trip?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I don't so much mind the trip- I walk to all my houses and generally don't drop any books in my delivery week (I know, my mum is always telling me I should, she used to be a sales leader).
I'm also hoping that the Far Away perfume one of my customers has ordered won't be substituted after all, part of her order shorted last time and I don't want to have to disappoint her again, she has been putting in good sized orders!

Found out something useful from another sales leader - on facebook, nif you go to account, account settings, then you can change your username - this isn't the same as you name, it affects the web address that shows when people view your profile. If you have me on facebook, click on my profile and you'll see what I mean - I've set it so it matches in with my avon recruiting website. We aren't meant to have avon in the URL, so this way you can have Avon in your name, but not showing on the url. It also effectively gives you your own website, so on your order forms, business cards, any posters etc you have, you can put your address so that people can easily find you and add you! xAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I wouldn't worry until you actually have your delivery - I had only one order for the far away set from the C9 booklet, I think they're just covering themselves "in case", but I'd imagine they'll have enough in. It's worth having a small stock of items in so that if/when people have items missing, you can give them a small gift as way of an apology - it helps to stop them being too annoyed - as it means they've got something free that they wouldn't get otherwise! It doesn't need to cost too much, they usually have some items in the clearance at just 50p - there is a few bits this time, foot creams, shower gels which look nice and while they're discontinued, they're a nice, cheap way to keep your best customers happy even when they've got items they've got to wait for. While it does cost extra, and its something we shouldn't have to do (as in an ideal world Avon will always be able to deliver items when we order them), I find it's worth it, as then I don't dread telling customers they're having to wait for something, I can make it a bit positive for them - helps to keep them ordering with you!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Do you not put the next book in when you do your deliveries? Saves you a trip and my customers have come to expect it i.e. they get excited about what goods they've received and then move straight on to check the new book and see what they want to order next. Suppose it keeps all the 'Avoning' together. :rotfl:
Am a bit confused about the Far Away, am guessing they've just repackaged it. The £3 gift set in HT clearance recently was sold out but see they're featuring it heavily in C10..... Makes you wonder if they withdrew the HT clearance so they could sell at full price. Hmmm....
To add to Lozza's excellent suggestions, if you are ever shorted for a good customer it's worth checking with your upliner to see if they have the item in stock. Quite a lot of SL's carry stocks of the more popular items.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Ohh MC I get you now
yes I do, in most cases (although this lady actually ticked every other, which I forgot, but she has now put two orders in in a row :P)

How are you doing with your team MC? I've found recently I've had more time wasters - it used to be if I could get someone to sign up, then they'd order...however lately more people have been willing to sign, but then drop off the face of the earth lol and not respond to any form of contact...and lots of other SL have said the same.
However, the few that have managed to place an order, have done remarkebly well, better than usual for their first orders and much more motivated. So in that respect things are much better!
Have to say, I'm so glad that Avon have changed the rules re websites, so that we can have our own now. OH especially was pleased, kept him busy designing it pmsl. Think its much better as its much more personalised than the ones provided by Avon were.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
