MrsTine - Just to let you know I got my delivery from Avon online and surprise surprise the poncho was OOS. Suppose to be getting a telephone call or email from them about it. (Not had one yet)

Well had a busy day today. I've applied for a job, and delivered 78 books to some of my new houses. Hopefully will get lots of new customers. (as well as a new job) We need some good news in this house as hubby lost his job last week but he may have another one, we're just waiting to hear from his mate. Please everyone keep your fingers crossed for us xxxx

Yeah I suspected it might be... you'll be amazed to hear that I didn't get the one for my customer either LOL DANG! *sigh* oh well!

Fingers crossed for your hubby! Mine is still waiting to hear about what they intend to pay him for his new job that he's already been doing for 2/3 weeks... *sigh* hoping they decide soon as what they pay him might directly impact what I do... My FT job is causing me so much stress at the moment that I've again been signed off with it... Thank goodness I have a lovely doctor - well... doctors :) Which actually helps me personally with realising it's not just me and 1 GP... so far all 3 GPs I've seen at our surgery have agreed I'm suffering from Acute Stress Reaction  But it does make me realise that it's not just my imagination... infact when I went in last week she did my BP and it was SKY high... so high she told me to take 10 deep breaths... think about something nice like a spa day or walking the dog... then redid my blood pressure and it dropped 60 points systolic! (When relaxing it was my normal 120/80 lol) and she said "Oh good - you had me worried there..." just as well she didn't tell me she was worried it'd never have gone down PMSL

I have a customer who has ordered from me regularly for the last few campaigns - good orders too - between £15 - £20 a time normally. She has ordered this time totalling £27.50, and I arranged to take the order to her on Saturday morning. Got there on Sat at the time agreed - no answer. I texted her to try to rearrange, but have had no response. Went back on Sunday and the door was answered by a chap - possibly the boyfriend, possibly a grown up son, not sure which, but in any case he was downright rude - I left feeling quite upset. No, he didn't know when she'd be back....he said he'd tell her I'd called but I don't think for a moment he would have done. As a last ditch attempt I popped a standard "tried to deliver but have not been able to catch you at home" note through the door today, with a line scribbled on the bottom just saying I hope everything was OK. So far have had no response. The question is - am I best do you think to do a return for the items now so I can sort out my payment to Avon and get my cash paid in - if she subsequently contacts me I can always just let them get recharged. Or would your experience say that these situations usually resolve themselves with the customer wanting the goods soon enough that it's not worth doing the return?

    Thanks all! :D

ps - had an order through for one of the wretched ponchos so will have to wait and see what happens when my stock availability starts showing!

essex - hmm id leave the amount on your account after paying for everything else and just request the credit on the last day of your campaign but not send them back straight away.... i know personally ive been in hospital and i still have 3 deliveries to make from LAST camp and have my new one coming tomorrow! just been a case of me and customers missing each other...Maybe something personal happened and shes had to go away for a few days? or her mind isnt on avon... job loss/death in family/relationship breakdown.... Id try again knocking in a week or 2 if you dont hear from her with the goods in hand and just say you were just worried you hadnt heard from her and your wondering if she still wanted them before you sent them back :)

i got the hair colour email too... hope it turns out ok otherwise it wont be a good advert for them! lol cant exactly cover it up and they're permanent!!!! ( good thing is your gonna get a 6 week almost guaranteed order for those with roots ;) )

i had an order for a megan poncho before Christmas and they were OOSDNR so dont understand why they are back in the book!! i ended up sourcing one from ebay for my customer!!

Thanks Johanne - that seems like a good plan. I suspect she is having some kind of problems at home, possibly may even have moved out, but no way of finding out. I really appreciate getting someone else's take on where to go next though! :A

I try 3 times and then give up. any longer than this, you end up being out of pocket.

If people aren't in the first time, I leave them a card so they know I've been and wasted my time. If they don't get in touch after a few days, I'll ring/text to arrange. If still no luck - I pop the next book in with a note saying I've still got your previous order if you'd like to receive it still please contact me by x date else I'll assume you no longer want it and will return it to Avon. If youre waiting for payday that's not a problem, just let me know and we can arrange delivery for a few weeks time. Many thanks, Laura.

Unfortunately some people I've had to cross of my list as they wouldnt respond at all, but usually most people will and I find it's the most polite way to show that you won't hang onto it indefinitely and saves you wasting your time going back when noones in. I know were providing a service but manners cost nothing - I expect a bit of give and take with my customers, and it works fine. They realise we both work shifts so can't pop round at the drop of a hat but that if they let us know when they're available/can pay that well be happy to arrange something.

Hey EH, sorry to hear your having issues with a customer. So frustrating when they just "go quiet". I notice you mention you have text her but have you tried ringing her? I have done this a few times with people and just left a message if they don't answer, along the lines of "Sorry I keep missing you, please contact me on 0787_______ before this weekend if you still want your order. If I don't hear from you I will assume you no longer want your products and shall return them to Avon." This tends to kick them into replying one way or another as it lets them know you wont hold onto their order indefinitely. Good luck :)

Edit: lol lozza...you beat me to it ;)
    Everyone loves a bargain

Im in the very lucky position of being PC so i do get commission on my additional orders automatically without making MOV (aslong as i did it in my main order)... so that changes things slightly for me..... but It CAN still be beneficial for non PC reps aslong as they double check the maths :):):)

Thanks, J; there's nothing 'lucky' about being in PC; it takes a lot of very hard work. Have only managed Bronze but have one team member as Assoc Broze - sorry to be so lazy and ask you but does the 'extended' commission for additional orders apply to Assoc Bronze too?
