**Fit Flops** Just wanted to let you all know that the Fit Flops are quite generous in size. I am a 5, or often a 6, but the smaller size is fine for me and the larger one drowns me! Thought this may be of use! Extemely comfortable though, and I am the fussiest person in existence when it comes to flip flops!!
I'm debating whether to get these, I've got real fitflops and was wondering how they measure up to the real thing0 -
Afternoon ladies....
Does anyone on here sell any Avon on a well know 'auction' site? If you do is it worth it?
I've got a few bits in my stash hanging around that I don't seem to be able to get rid of and though I might have a go. It appears that some people sell a lot on there, does anyone have any opinion on this?
thanks0 -

Hi, can't comment on the real thing I'm afraid, but am quite happy with these so far! If you weren't happy you could always send them back?Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
Selling on ebay - I sold a few things on there and they all sold within the 30-day listing (it was pre-Christmas). I'd got them for free.
One item I sold was a Stacy jewellery gift set. I listed it for £3.99 with £1.49 postage - £5.48 total. I always list buy it nows on ebay. To get the price I just look at what other people are listing them for and put what I think's a fair price. As a buy it now I list it higher than the auction ones, and either the same price or a little lower than other buy it nows. If you're not familiar with ebay, there are several fees that eat into your profit: (I'll use the Stacy set one as an example) Paypal was £0.39, one month listing was £0.40, final value fee was £0.39, postage was £1.39 and packaging was £0.13 (I buy this in bulk because I sell other things on ebay to keep the packaging costs down). I made £2.78 profit.
I've just picked out a random low-value item on eBay to demonstrate that I'm not convinced it works in all circumstances. Someone's got a Naturals Mandarin and Kiwi hair yoghurt for £1 buy it now with £2.10 p+p. So their profit will be about £3.10 - 26p (Paypal) - 40p (assuming it sells in the first month, otherwise it becomes 80p, then 1.20, and so on...) - 10p (final value) - 1.51 (at least postage 2nd class) - 13p (packaging) = 70p. That's only if they got the item for free. The demo was 70p. I haven't seen many Naturals haircare CO opportunities, they're normally just cheap rather than BOGOF.
It's something I'm happy to do if I've got lucky with freebies and want a convenient way to sell them off. However, if I had a regular place to sell in person like a car boot or could offer things to customers at the door, then I'd do that as well/instead of. I'm thinking of doing a clearance sale, with a first-come first-served list of things I've got in stock at reduced prices. I've got to think it through a bit more, but was thinking I'd type up a list and ask people to ring/e-mail to reserve it and it'll be delivered on the normal delivery day.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

inaminuite - Have you thought of creating a price list of stuff you have and what you would like for them, and then notifying your customers you have some back stock, If they would like to purchase some? I made a note on my newsletter of having some back stock (was the bumper box id got before christmas) one of my customers said she would try and get rid of some for me, although only 1 of her friends turned up, i got £11 of sales from a few bits sold! I'm maybe thinking of adding the pricelist to my Avon facebook Page now.0

Thanks I, Geek for your paypal explanation, it does seem a bit of a faff unless you get things for free or part of 3 for £5 etc. I didn't really take into account the fees so like you say unless its a buy it now price you could end up making next to nothing.
ceejaydee, I have in the past listed a few things on my facebook for sale but had no takers as yet. Haven't tried promoting it on the note I put in with my books so that's an option.
I work for myself so don't have work colleagues to sell Avon too, I don't have children so don't have parents at the school gate to sell to. I've done the recommend a friend and have picked up one new customer from that this campaign (hooray) but I find it hard going at times. I seem to have exhausted my territory, and one road was a complete waste of time. So I could ask for more territory I suppose and see what happens. I do have one customer who takes her Avon book to work with her and picks up one or two orders from there and my friends and family help but its 'other' customers I'm looking for.
Blimey I sound all doom and gloom :rotfl: I'm just trying to think outside the box to increase sales but my 'outside the box' mojo seems to have vanished.
Thanks for listening or should I say reading....0 -

A list of items from 'your stock box' attached to the front of a brochure is always a good idea when you are re-canvassing, as ex-customers may see something they used to buy on that list. Also take a few items out with you, I always used to ask for an 'egg cup', dispense a small amount of bubble bath into it and then wait. Bubble bath sales were always increased, once tried it becomes an every day best seller.
Another good way of getting rid of excess stock is to host an 'an Avon Party'. When I was a Manager I used to recruit Reps and Sales Leaders on this basis, not everybody has the time, enthusiasm or even the territory available to go door to door. You can host a party for customers/potential customers, if you are happy to invite strangers into your home. Avon used to produce Invites, etc. not sure if they still do, as I have been left a couple of years now. I may have some still with all my surplus stock, along with some hints and tips leaflets, if anyone is interested.MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:0 -
