If you can do CO then I would but I wouldn't give it all to customer as that is a big thank you gift imo for £17 of orders. Maybe give her one of the things and keep the rest for treasure box. If she had got you £100 of orders then maybe I would give her it all, but if you give her all the good stuff now she might expect it in the future. Then maybe I am just a tight ar*e :rotfl:

I was thinking it was rather generous as well for the whole thing :rotfl:Might just give her the empty vanity case since the contents are £10.50 EACH

This will be my first order so no treasure chest yet :rotfl:Going to have a look at the clearance bit in the HT see if I can find something in there. ;)
It is always a good idea to give a free gift from a range that the customer is likely to buy from again. Therefore, if she is a hairdresser something she could try and then order from you on a regular basis. Even a range of samples from a particular range, as she would then have the opportunity to try before she buys.

As said above, stick with current items (I do have a stock of discontinued items in - but only so as I know that I have something if needed - say when a customer has some parts of their order that are late arriving etc), or at least order a couple of extra bits just in case they are out of stock when your order is packed (which is particularly guaranteed when you order something from HT clearance that you have to have for a customer!). I'd say go for something that most people would like - a linen spray & hand cream would make a nice set as suggested by MC, or something from the planet spa range, or even a big bottle of shower gel or bubble bath. Everyone is different, some people realise the value of a gift, but I have to say most of my customers seem to be impressed by size more than cost - started giving out 500ml bubble baths at the mo that I have in, and had a customer thank me for their free gift, even though they've had loads of free gifts before that were more expensive they were just a lot smaller lol.

So a lavender bubblebath 500ml from P131 c5 would be a good option? I know its not 99p but it won't break the bank either ;) I should think that would be nice and relaxing after a busy day on your feet and would probably look a little more impressive than the other alternative I've spotted (C4, lavender & Chamomile shower gel & hand cream on P113) but then I was kind of hoping she would personally put an order in and it would have given me some ideas :rotfl: My brain hurts :(

I'd say either of the above would be lovely - it's hard to say without knowing the lady, but the bubble bath would look impressive I suppose, seems to be the case for my customers at least!

  • Hello! I've just recently signed up to Avon and found this really useful thread and have been lurking all weekend reading through and thought I'd introduce myself and say hi!

I ordered from my first campaign on Monday and had the delivery on Friday. I only had 2 orders but it's a start I guess. Any ideas/tips on how to get new cutomers and hold onto to the 2 I've got will be great! I'm really hoping this will be good for me as I'm really keen to make new friends and prove to my family that I can do something useful, plus some extra cash won't hurt either!

Think I'd prefer to recieve hot choc myself as I'm not great with caffiene but would be worried about posting something chocolately through someones door incase they have a dog.

What is all the talk about drink packets about?

I was thinking about getting a bag or a bucket type thing (something with handles) and carrying it round with me when I deliver orders and having in it all sorts of bits that were under £1 for me to buy as free gifts and letting cutomers chose something.

I've not got my teritory and delievered my first books, I'm a bit worried I won't get enough orders this time though because I haven't had long to get any orders before it's due in. I won't know until I collect the books on Tuesday though.

Have you got territory. I've only just started but I've put a letter in with the books and I've offered a free gift for all orders over £20 but I've also put that orders of any size are welcome.

Talking about Doctors heres a free recruiting idea for you peeps.

Dont chuck out all the colour supplements/magazines you get. Collect them and when you have a few , donate them to your local dentist, doctor.hairdresser etc.

Before you hand them over stick inside one of the first few pages a Avon recruiting ad leaflet. icon_e_wink.gif

Sticking is recommended as apparently some keen receptionists shake the mags to remove inserts.
  • Thats a clever idea
