  • Hello! I've just recently signed up to Avon and found this really useful thread and have been lurking all weekend reading through and thought I'd introduce myself and say hi!

I ordered from my first campaign on Monday and had the delivery on Friday. I only had 2 orders but it's a start I guess. Any ideas/tips on how to get new cutomers and hold onto to the 2 I've got will be great! I'm really hoping this will be good for me as I'm really keen to make new friends and prove to my family that I can do something useful, plus some extra cash won't hurt either!

Good luck with the Avon, it doesn't happen over night but certainly if nurtured will serve you well for friends and extra cash for a long time (30 years for me).

I am assuming that you have a territory, as you say you are wanting to make friends. If this is the case, I would suggest a couple of customer building ideas which I used to suggest to new reps:-

    1. Pop an extra brochure in with the next brochure for the customers that ordered this time, together with a free sample and put a post it note on the front, 'thought you might have a friend or family member that would also like to see a brochure'. As they have the extra brochure they usually show it somebody.

    2. The 2nd thing that I always suggested, I mentioned in an earlier posting. Make sure you add your mobile telephone number and an e-mail address (create 1 for Avon only if you are worried about giving your regular address). Shows that you are committed and also makes it easier to order from you.

I will have a forage around and see if I still have any of my hints and tips leaflets that I used to hand out to New Reps and Sales Leaders.

Hope you find this helpful, good luck.

Talking about Doctors heres a free recruiting idea for you peeps.

Dont chuck out all the colour supplements/magazines you get. Collect them and when you have a few , donate them to your local dentist, doctor.hairdresser etc.

All the Doctors surgeries I have visited over the last 6 months, do not stock magazines, including shop bought or donated ones. Something to do with the passing of germs, including swine flu.

:hello: Happy_Money, welcome to the thread.

Something I used to do was put a note on the book or the order form, saying introduce a friend and if they place an order of £10 or more, you will receive a free gift. An incentive for them to encourage their friends to have a look. 2 years later it has worked. One of my regular customers had her book out when her hairdresser came. The hairdresser wanted a book to take home to look at and while she was working on another customer, that customer ordered too!

So if your local doc doesnt have mags ,mine still does, you still got other waiting areas you could place them.eg haidressers.

Or pop in the library and put some loosely in the mums books and the start your own biz books.:D
  • Evening all, How long people leave it before recavess streets?

It's just a shame that a long standing rep has a monopoly round here yet won't recanvass at ALL so leaving loads of untapped territory locked up from everyone else... :( ASM won't even talk to her about it as I guess she's a good regular earner and I can understand why the ASM doesn't want to annoy her... irritating though as it really hinders anyone else round here!

I encountered the same thing last year - just do a survey on the streets you suspect are not being covered.... As a SL you're allowed to go door-knocking to find new reps anyway (only just found that out last week.... doh!) but reps can do surveys as well. ;)

Took a while, but once I'd proved to the ASM that the street hadn't actually been covered for 3 years she finally released it from the rep it was allocated to even though that rep was meeting her targets. Long term reps can end up 'spidering' a large area but just cherry picking. People move all the time though and it's much easier for a newbie to canvass their local streets 100%, which ultimately is more effective for Avon!

    Oooo hang on....

I have 2 orders (1 c4, 1 C5) for the Anew Pro serum, then a derma full 3 (same C4 order, but cheaper through C5), and a day renewal (again same c4 order, but cheaper in C5). I was going to put all but 1 of the anew orders through C5 and just 1 through C4 to get the bonus bag as CO. If I put 2 through on C4 (one where I would only save £5) I could claim a beauty bonus bag - how about that? Or would you just order a 99p item like the shower gels (p112/3 c4)?

Sorry for all the questions but Johanne isn't well again and I don't want to be quizzing her. She needs to concentrate on her health!

Could be wrong on this so PLEASE double-check but....

IF the difference in price from C4 to C5 re. the Pro serum and the Day Renewal cream is £5 customer price i.e. £3.75 nett (provided you hit HOV) then you are getting the vanity bag, mascara, lipstick and powder compact for a nett cost to you of £3.75 IF am right then I'd definitely order both those in C4 but don't bother with the Dermafull, which I think is £10 cheaper in C5. (Even at £7.50 nett to you I guess it's a good deal but am a real cheapskate! :rotfl:)

Thanks, maybe libraries run to their own rules.... I couldn't even get mine to let me leave a book and all my calling cards/notes I left in the separate 'looking for work' type section just got binned. :(

Have tried various hairdressers with a current book but no orders, maybe a good idea to put an old brochure in there with a few vouchers though... Hmmm... thanks for the idea. :)

Thanks, A, have been trying that but not as long as you - guess perseverence is the key! :T Think am deffo going to try the old books in hairdressers now + 'Discount Voucher for 1st Order'.

I actually had a  The individual things are worth 10.50 EACH so if I ordered all the Anew stuff from C4 then put in for a bonus bag for each of them then I can get stuff for my treasure chest and the customer still gets their stuff as well. :D Amazing what comes to me when I'm talking to DD :rotfl:

I'll order the free gift for the customer as well as DD has decided she's happy to wait for the various charms to come available through clearance or on demo so just a couple to order this time ;) So thats just cut down what I want order by about £20 :rotfl:

Off to do the maths now....
