  • It was really interesting to see how everyone else goes about delivering their books I think I will deliver the orders when they arrive with the next book in there and then continue my round for the other roads as normal after that so that when I get regulars they will be recieving their books first.

I get signed up tomorrow :)

Well, sales seem to be getting back to normal now, got £555 altogether for C4, though £40 of that was from a lady who tried being a rep and changed her mind, so £515 from our customers which is about what we usually manage so pleased - hoping C5 will be a good one, some lovely new items in that book and I usually do better with the brochures that have make-up on the front cover! The ones with Anew on the front cover aren't very tempting to my customers lol.

Thats what I did to start with, then when I had a list of customers to deliver to, I ordered enough brochures for everyone to have one each, then I can put people a book in with their order, and everyone else can have theirs delivered a day or two later, with all the brochures being collected on the same day. I find thats the quickest way, just means spending a bit more on brochures, but gets it all over and done with in the shortest time lol.

That sounds like a good idea I'll proberbly do that eventually as well.

I can't wait to get started again and then I'll be contributing properly because I can answer other questions when I get started

  • Hello ladies,

I haven't posted on here in ages so thought it was about time I re-surfaced! To be honest I was so cross with my first delivery of the new year its probably a good job I didn't post because I was fuming!! :rotfl:

I had 26 items missing from my order, 26!!!! They were all high end items, foundations, serum & Anew bits, I sensed the customer service guy questioning if I really did have that many items missing. Long story short, a phone call and very strong but polite email managed to cut the 5 to 7 days to Monday morning delivery (normal delivery was Wed previous). So I suppose they did pull their fingers out but it was a real pain having to go out twice to deliver. Just thought I'd share my story incase it helps someone else in the future.

I'd also like to thank my SL Lozza because she's brill, I'm always asking her questions and bless her she keeps on answering! :rotfl:

I'm testing out the introduce a friend and get a free gift on C4, fingers crossed it works.

Happy Friday everyone, sorry for the long post!
    :p

Well I've got all my likely to get back books in and the orders total £350 and change :D:j Thats without me adding a couple of bits I want so I'm well chuffed. Its also only work & 2 roads out of the 14 I've been given (some are less than 20 houses though) :D ASM (who signed me up, I don't have a SL) offered to give me more roads as well :eek:I said I'd canvass all the ones I've gotten first, then I'll ask for more ;)

Going to have a mooch through the orders and see if I can be creative anywhere. I've already got one opportunity - a customer has ordered 3 Anew products from C4 so they get the vanity case. After a quick look all 3 items are available cheaper in C5 so its now just a decision to be made as to which item I order to get the vanity case and which 2 I order from C5 to make a little extra for me ;)

Tomorrow I'm going to sort out a flyer for the next lot of books to go out, C5's will be back order, and C6 for work & my road :D

Don't be too harsh to judge. Did your SL deliver them to you? If they did it could be that they had to travel quite a way so wanted to cover their petrol costs, which is understandable as we don't have to provide books for our reps past their 2nd campaign. Some of my reps are an hour away - so £10 worth of petrol at least, so if I was taking books to them I'd want to get back the cost of the books and at least a bit of the petrol - hence the charging them the price they would have paid from avon, rather than the price I have to pay for the books myself.

I've taken extra books to reps for free when they've had theirs pinched by other reps, and will help out reps as/when needed - but at the end of the day, it is a reps responsiblity to order their own brochures, not to rely upon us - if we ever needed some time out due to work/famiy, as I did last year - I wouldn't want to have to explain myself to reps as to why they would have to start ordering books for themselves all of a sudden, I have enough going on at the best of times without having to deliver books or be in for people to collect from me. It might sound harsh - but if you ask my team (a few of them are on here from time to time) I'm sure they'd say they're happy with all the help & advice I provide, thats more worthwhile in my opinion that people getting their books a little bit cheaper. Not having a dig MC, but just don't want people thinking that all SL *should* provide books cheaper - yes its a lovely thing to do - but its your choice, and not something that we *have* to do.

Yes, I do see your point, Lozza, and as said I am 'too soft'. I only offer the cheaper books to team members on my customer rounds so no extra fuel (or not much anyway) involved. I do put a lot of effort in for very little and/or no return and, as I learned at an Avon meeting yesterday, I should 'get as many monkeys off my back' as possible. Guess am a nurturer rather than a doer....

Having said that (and it didn't occur to me either until my upliner - same as you, a 'fair distance away' - told me) any SL can put an additional order into Avon to get books delivered direct to their rep for the £2.50 additional order fee plus the SL price of books so for 20 books that's slightly less than £4.50 - really can't see the need (other than the 'prohibitive expense factor') for SL's charging anyone £5.50 for 20 books.

Each to their own and 'vive la difference' as they say and yes, hope your team appreciate all your knowledge; I've certainly learned a lot from you and long may it continue! :T

Good luck, Laura. How clever are you to find this thread even before you sign up?! :T

Agree with NB, MrsG; this is my favourite way to query anything re. Avon (much better than Connects in my opinion as we're like one big happy family on here - someone 'growled' at me on Connects recently and I was quite 'shocked'). These threads on MSE have been a great help to all of us - long may they continue.

Good luck and yes, go ahead and treat yourself. Being an Avon rep is the best possible way to do that i.e. am like a kiddy in a sweetshop, ordering and trying any/everything I fancy and then just sending it back if I don't like it. Isn't that what everyone does? :rotfl:

I found connects a bit funny as well, asked a question on there and was made to feel thick by the first few people who answered.
This thread is so so useful and helpful.
