YAY :j You got HOV value anyway

ps - You don't seem thick to me, it can be hard to understand if you haven't had these things explained

Phew! thanks, I wasn't sure so glad someone could clear it up for me.
Roll on C5 and C6, may even treat myself next time;)

  • just a quick question, thers a girl on one of my streets who was super excited to get an avon brochure, i've delivered a few times now to her house and still had no orders,
she really did seem excited to get the brochure though and said to me she can stop ordering her make up online now and start doing it through this
has anyone got any tips or advice on how i could maybe encourage her to spend? (ive put in samples etc and still nothing) Thank you
  • Thanks for doing the maths on that one for me :o

You're very welcome; I love maths.... (almost as much as Creative Ordering! :j)

Agree with NB, MrsG; this is my favourite way to query anything re. Avon (much better than Connects in my opinion as we're like one big happy family on here - someone 'growled' at me on Connects recently and I was quite 'shocked'). These threads on MSE have been a great help to all of us - long may they continue.

Good luck and yes, go ahead and treat yourself. Being an Avon rep is the best possible way to do that i.e. am like a kiddy in a sweetshop, ordering and trying any/everything I fancy and then just sending it back if I don't like it. Isn't that what everyone does? :rotfl:

'Special deals' may entice her i.e. free gift for £'x' spend/1st order or even do a 'my price' on a certain product by using the Money Maker schemes and/or if you've built up some free products e.g. Supershock Mascaras (free recently) why not offer one at a ridiculously low price of £3?

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Mrsgsr I am really glad you have sussed it!! And I would give c5 books to everyone who has already ordered, collect them back in and give them out to more people to gain new customers too :)

PS you do learn really quickly this is only my 6th campaign :)

What? That's appalling!! Least I think it is.... That's even more than you'd pay if ordering them from Avon. How did she come to that price? Ask her (and let us know how you get on). FYI, even if she had to order them as an additional order from Avon and got them delivered direct to you it wouldn't have cost her that much.

OK, know am probably too soft but as far as I'm concerned we're supposed to support our team, not rip them off!

Don't be too harsh to judge. Did your SL deliver them to you? If they did it could be that they had to travel quite a way so wanted to cover their petrol costs, which is understandable as we don't have to provide books for our reps past their 2nd campaign. Some of my reps are an hour away - so £10 worth of petrol at least, so if I was taking books to them I'd want to get back the cost of the books and at least a bit of the petrol - hence the charging them the price they would have paid from avon, rather than the price I have to pay for the books myself.

I've taken extra books to reps for free when they've had theirs pinched by other reps, and will help out reps as/when needed - but at the end of the day, it is a reps responsiblity to order their own brochures, not to rely upon us - if we ever needed some time out due to work/famiy, as I did last year - I wouldn't want to have to explain myself to reps as to why they would have to start ordering books for themselves all of a sudden, I have enough going on at the best of times without having to deliver books or be in for people to collect from me. It might sound harsh - but if you ask my team (a few of them are on here from time to time) I'm sure they'd say they're happy with all the help & advice I provide, thats more worthwhile in my opinion that people getting their books a little bit cheaper. Not having a dig MC, but just don't want people thinking that all SL *should* provide books cheaper - yes its a lovely thing to do - but its your choice, and not something that we *have* to do.
