That'd be good but then there would be an outcry from those on Mobility, they'd class it as discrimination and lack of freedom of choice etc.

They'd be on a pretty sticky wicket with that one then. They are, after all, getting a motor for free.

If they want a fancy motor - no problem. They have exactly the same freedom of choice as the rest of us - pay for one or don't
  • Got to disagree there. As I said, basic transport is reasonable - giving them a Merc or a Beemer isn't.

    Hello,

Have a look at this list!

  • Ah, I see.

If they have to pay extra for a luxury motor - that's all fine then. I didn't realise that - thanks for the link :)

why is it fine? If they can afford to upgrade to a luxury car then im sure they could afford to pay for a basic model without our money

I'm guessing some fuel stations have already included the VAT hike in their latest prices. One Esso in town was selling diesel for 134.9 today, and there was a shell less than 5 minutes down the road selling it for 129.9.
  • They could put fuel up to £2.50 per litre, and we'd still pay it , we all have to get to work, goods still have to be delivered etc etc, we don't have much of a choice ......and the government know it.

Sadly motorists are an easy target to be taxed again and again. For me I can use public transport to get to work, however it involves a train & 2 buses and take a good 90 minutes each way, compared to a 15 minute drive by car.

One thing's for certain, it will never be under £1 per litre ever again.
