Petrol Price Hike - VAT

Just a reminder to those of you who have been living in a cave recently - there's going to be a VAT increase from 17.5% - 20% on January 4th which would mean a rise of around 3p a litre - there's also a fuel duty increase due on 1st January of around 0.75p so I'm filling up on the way home from work tonight assuming…

Shell and Asda in my town are both still 121.9p today for unleaded. Same as they were on New Year Eve.

So much for the Duty and VAT hikes.

EDIT: I think they brought the hikes in before new year as the prices went up sharply.
