Suzybloo - the cheese straws were great - just filled that gap.
Artichoke...just wondering whether they'll all be up really early after your midnight celebrations? I woke up DH to tell him about it. Needless to say he's already back in the land of nod! I must go and wash up what didn't fit in the DW - save a little more wine for me for later please!Resolution:

Think all the OH's much have drunk the rest of the wine as they are all snoozing in their chairs, yours, mine, and I am quite sure a few more,
Do you want a wee brandy instead anyone? Artichoke that is brilliant!!!Every days a School day!0 -
Evening All.
Hope eveyone is relaxing enjoying Auld Years Night. Had a traditional Scottish meal of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.
I think one last blow out is called for before the hard work starts tomorrow.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year when it arrives.

hi all
the kids are only 5 and 6 so usually go to bed at 7.30 on a school night - so even though they are out of routine in the holidays they will still be having a late night for them so should sleep to normal times ..if not beyone
and i said i want DH will go to bed after my early "midnight" but i did not say i would let him sleep:eek:why do you think i am reducing his beer intake..
so i guess we will all be awake just after 6am just as normal:eek:

Thats funny Artichoke....you could fool the kids into thinking they are on another time zone... we are two hours ahead here so its 23:45 and we got home 10 mins ago from a nice dinner at a friends house. DH is snoring alread so I shall go to bed now and see the new year in with a read of my book......so goodbye 2010 and see you all next year........Shalva0

Evening everyone, must have smelt the wine, make mine a large one please, I have some gorgeous nuts, with dark chocolate and cranberries from Aldi for nibbles.
Another couple staying in, having left overs for tea, and have just watched Alice in Wonderland, DS's GF wanted it so said we would save it for her, but it was a good film. On Sky Premier, which I currently have due to an offer.
Good planning Art, I like your style.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE, may sneak back, but currently DH wanting my company as he has just made "coffee" :rotfl: last of the big drinkers.

I am sneaking in waving hello!
I have onion rings and some onion rings to add? Pour me a HUGE glass of something virtually alcoholic - I have been so poorly since the end of Nov I have forgotten what booze smells like!If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome!0 -
Hi Guys,
I just came in to say Happy New Year. Im another who doesnt really like the evening and cant wait to see the brand new day. The fireworks have started a little now so dogs are pacing around!
My DD is upset tonight. Her local friends let her down tonight and at 18 it seems like a big deal. Also she has resits for her A levels and is unsure whether she will cope with university. Its like she has the world on her shoulders but really she has the world at her feet. I pray she has the courage to step out and enjoy her life in 2011.
Happy New Year my OS friends - you mean the world to me xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
it is 11pm here as we keep forwarding the clock as the kids want to stay up until midnight and I want them to go to bed by 9.30...
:rotfl: I did a season at a US summer camp few years ago, and we used to do this to the kids when it was our night off and we wanted them in bed so we could get to the pub quicker!! :rotfl:Worked like a treat most times as none of them had watches and mobiles were banned!! :rotfl:
I'm drinking Bucks Fizz, not very rock n roll but I don't want to drink a whole bottle of wine by myself so not much point opening it!
Happy New Year to all the lovely OSer's

Molly, big ((HUGS)) for your DD - as you say at her age these things matter hugely.
Anyway, I've clearly had more than enough to drink now, so I'm about to creep away. Happy New Year to you all!
Bet I still wake up ridiculously early tomorrow!
keep the noise down, you lot!Resolution:
