OS Daily Friday 31st December New Years Eve

I am another one who likes a clean house ready to see the new year in and I open the windows at midnight too. DD's BF has strict instructions to carry a little packet consisting of a lump of coal, a small bag of salt, a £1 coin and a piece of bread into the house when they come back from a friends party.

All the beds are stripped and the bedding is being washed, the nets are washed and I am trying to finish what is left in the wash basket.

DH has cleaned the bathroom and I will hoover and mop all the floors after dinner (Gammon, chips, salad and mushrooms tonight )

Looks like I'm staying in tonight now . Two of my friends who I'm meant to meet at pub tonight have got the flu so have cancelled. I'm not too bothered, I'll save myself £40 and the petrol, plus won't be hungover tomorrow. I'll make a nice meal for tea and have a glass of wine.

Been busy today. WM been on twice, tidied, tree down, cards recycled, hoovered, laundry put away, returned an item to the shops for refund and stocked up on loo roll :rotfl:.

Hi everyone.

Another one here who is stopping in tonight. We were supposed to be going to the local pub with DD's and friends but I am starting with the dreaded lurgy now too and am very achy and shivery so dont fancy being in a crowded pub at all.

Have been working today so left housework to OH as he is still off till tuesday. Supposed to be going to a friends for a meal tomorrow, so shall see how I am, would be nice to have someone else cook though as I have spent enough time in the kitchen!

So hope everyone has a Happy New Years Eve

Not much OS'ing going on here, wedding invites posted, washing done and drying on every surface House is a bit of a tip and covered in strips of paper

I don't do new year, so I'll be asleep Still not feeling 100 % so I could do with some quiet time. Was going to be working today, but didn't go in in the end.

Just wanted to send warm wishes for 2011.
If this year has been good for you.....May the next be even better.
If this year has been difficult in any way..May things change right now.

Have only managed a very basic skim read but wanted to "speak" to
Dandy, Please take your mum tonight. When my mum came out of hospital(we knew there was nothing to be done)we had a lovely time. We went for a meal in a pub, not a particularly stunning one but that meal is still in my heart 18 1/2 years later. Treasure every moment. We laughed and had a very special couple of weeks. You will be in my prayers.

I also wanted to send love and thanks to Churchmouse's son. I always think about him on New Years Eve-working and keeping People safe whilst everyone else is having a good time. I think the emergency services do an amazing job.

Please take care and stay safe.

Well I dragged my sorry butt round local retail park as I couldn't stand DS bouncing off the walls any longer. We had a look at the pets in the pets store, I had a nose in my favourite shop (Hobbycraft not much worthwhile in the sale though ) and I managed to buy two new cushions for the sofa for £8 So was worth the aching back. I have realised after going to my brothers house that ours is not so much shabby chic as just shabby so I think I need to work on accessories in 2011 to give it a lift
H now home from work so am cooking bacon and leek pasta for tea with some garlic bread. Will be pouring myself some alcohol shortly

house is tidyish, bathroom has been blitzed
and is now sparkling till the kids use it lol

got FIL coming over tonight, am doing a buffet,
sausage rolls are in the oven and will make other
stuff in a mo.

Evening everyone

Another couple who are staying in here. This is the first NYE that me and OH have spent with just us, we usually have his DD and go to a pub that does a family night out but this year she is going with her mum, don't ask, long story :rotfl:

I would have liked a clean shiney house but being away over xmas, coming back late Tuesday and back at work on Wednesday, it just hasn't happened:( Although OH has been off and been really good, he has done all the washing and cooking.

Work let us out at 4 today.....only an hour later than the rest of the company, but I'm not moaning, I really thought we would be there till 5.30 its been so busy since we have been back, tempers fraying, people stressed already, so was very glad we went home when we did.

No cooked meal tonight, we have nibbly things to snack on all evening, so far I have not put any weight back on, OH has put 2lb back on and we are back on the waggon as from tomorrow.

OH did shopping today, got a HUGE gammon joint that was £9 but reduced to half price, think it might do about 10 meals for us :rotfl:going to put it in slow cooker overnight tonight.

Big hello to the lurkers who came in today, don't be shy come back in the new year, I don't always manage to post every day, but no one minds....well if they do, they are too polite to say :rotfl:
