    Hi All

Just popped in to wish you all Happy New Year when it arrives, will not be doing much myself, DD and DS1 in Oz, DS2 staying at friends farm whilst they are away in France visiting family. I think a couple of glasses of red whilst watching a DVD will do me. I am going down south tomorrow to stay with my cousin for a couple of days (it's a surprise, she thinks I am coming on Monday which is actually the day I'm leaving. Don't worry, her mum and son know!).

NPM - you are a fab mum and not long till school opens and there will be some routine again.
Dandy - Enjoy your mum while you can. If she wants to go to the fireworks then take her. Just enjoy your time together.
JackieO - I could 'listen' to you all day. Have you ever thought of writing all your memories down. It would be lovely for your family.

Hope the poorlies are feeling better. OS wise I have cleaned the bathrooms and the fires, along with the grill pan that DS2 thinks cleans itself and done 3 loads of washing. Better get the ironing done then.

    Take care. XX

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

hope its ok if i join you, i have realised i have been not keeping it 'old style' in the other thread, so thought i'd chat here instead ,
we are not going out this year, went out last year , took our older kids and straight after the meal was eaten they went home and left us, (it was ok, i mean, we are old enough to be on our own) just thought it was a bit rude of them and they could have either stayed or not bothered in the first place,
happy new year everybody, hope you all have a great time whatever your doing,
i've just remembered my mum on NYE would take some coal, bread and money outside and then bring it in after midnight, i think thats what it was,she is very superstitious though, if she drops a glove on a fryday its lucky??? no walking under ladders, no cutting toenails on a sunday otr you will have the devil with you all week:rotfl:

camelot1001 I only wish I had the time .I could do with a 36 hour day to get through what I have to.Still keeping busy is good for one I'm told .when you get to a certain age your memories of your younger days seem to be clearer than whare you put the potato masher yesterday IYSWIM :):) I am lucky that I have lived as long as I have and still enjoy my life to the full. There's lots of things I can't physically do any more but luckily the little grey cells are still working. As long as they do then I am a cherry old woman, life's far too short and unexpected to be grumy for long.
Cheers chums I'm just off to my DDs, I-like the U.S.General- will be back :):)
    love to you all
    JackieO xx
P.S. Dandy I do hope you get to take your Mum to see the fireworks it will be a nice lasting memory for you in the years to come God Bless you and your family at this difficult time
