He insists I should pay one month notice evn though I am out of contract saying it is in t&c but won`t tell me where.
He is correct, all consumer phone contracts have a 30 day notice of termination period.
Also, you weren't out of contract, you had merely completed the minimum term of the contract which remains in force until you give notice to terminate.
To add, it took less than a minute to find the Vodafone T&Cs, this is the section you are looking for:11. Ending this agreement
a) Either you or us may end this agreement by giving the other 30 days’ notice in writing. Your notice must include your mobile number and the signature or appropriate security details of the account holder. You must pay the charges during the notice period.====0 -
By cancelling the direct debit you will likely wreck your external credit files for the six years and have a bigget problem.0

The point is - they told me I was out of contract. So are you saying this was just more lies?He is correct, all consumer phone contracts have a 30 day notice of termination period.

So everyone lets this final bill get paid because it`s too much trouble to contest it. Vodafone make a few extra quid out of everyone who dares to leave them. This is OK in your eyes is it?mobilejunkie wrote: »By cancelling the direct debit you will likely wreck your external credit files for the six years and have a bigget problem.0 -
Maybe it wasn't explained properly to you, as whilst you were outside the contract minimum term" they may have abbreviated it to "out of contract", either way they did explain you had to give 30 days notice. The point is - they told me I was out of contract. So are you saying this was just more lies?
It's not just Vodafone, all networks require you to give 30 days notice when you cancel, as will the next network you go to even when outside the minimum term.So everyone lets this final bill get paid because it`s too much trouble to contest it. Vodafone make a few extra quid out of everyone who dares to leave them. This is OK in your eyes is it?It's not just about the money0 -

I posted the section of the terms you agreed to.11. Ending this agreement

If you didn't want to give 30 days notice to cancel you shouldn't have signed up and rather used PAYG.====0 -

What is "OK" in my eyes is that someone who doesn't bother to understand the basic t&c they agree to when entering a contract finds themselves with a problem when they fail to comply with those terms. It's also fine by me if they are stupid enough to wreck their own credit ratings and then end up with a REALLY big problem instead of heeding advice which would have prevented that happening.
Don't assume that most people (that alone "everyone") let any network "make a few extra quid". Having had scores of contacts over the last few years (and ordered hundreds for other people) I have not only avoided paying a penny more than I contracted.
Fortunately, I am not you.0 -

I do wish I was as clever as you. The trouble is you are so full of your own importance you don`t bother to `read the question`. I had been told on previous occasions I was out of contract, but if we forget about that for the moment there is the matter of the missing credits and the spurious nonDD charge. Do you really think that if I had let them collect the payment and then complained nice Mr Voda would have refunded with a smile? Do you really think I am the only one to whom this has happened? And assuming I`m not do you really think that many in that position would go to all the bother of trying to get a few pounds of their money back? Get real.mobilejunkie wrote: »What is "OK" in my eyes is that someone who doesn't bother to understand the basic t&c they agree to when entering a contract finds themselves with a problem when they fail to comply with those terms.
