Hi Lee - received a new iPhone for my son on Jan 6th - from new it has had 3G signal but can't receive data. Managed to get into Vodafone shop today and they said SIM swap would sort, it didn't. Spent a couple of hours with Apple support with no luck - they said I'd need to go to nearest retail outlet (120 mile round trip!) but they haven't got appointment free for another week.

I've spoken to Vodafone tonight about a replacement handset as this one isn't fit for purpose, first two attempts were useless, they kept trying to put me through to the buy back team who don't work weekends. Third attempt and I eventually got through to someone, but they said as I'm 72 hours outside of their return period they'd only repair, despite admitting I'd never actually been able to receive data - but I'd need to go into the shop again (which I can't do for another week) to get a "loan" handset, and then being another couple of weeks until I'd possibly get back a phone. Not very impressed with the service as I've got 4 contracts with Vodafone and been with them for a good number of years.

Do my statutory rights under distance selling (was bought via internet) and the goods not being fit for purpose over rule any company policy on repairing that Vodafone operate? 14 Days isn't a reasonable period in my eyes, especially with the inconvenience caused.....

I left Vodafone a few months ago and ported my number to Sainsbury mobile (PAYG). Now Vodafone have reactivated an old friends and family subscription that I cancelled over a year ago, and somehow are taking the payments from my Sainsbury credit. You know how difficult it is to deal with their 'customer service' when you're a customer....even harder when you're not!

I was told I'd get a confirmation email up to 24 hours after filling in the NUC request form. I filled it in on both Saturday and Sunday and have received no confirmation. No money has been taken from my account either.
  • Thanks Lee, I had already e-mailed you

My new provider have this new-fangled thing where you can e-mail them through the website, they reply and put things right. Amazing.
After days and hours trying to work out how to get an answer from VF an e-mail to Sainsburys mobile sorted it, including a refund immediately.
Please could you simply check that my number is now removed from any and all contact with VF, and that my credit with my new provider will not be debited again.
