  • Hi Lee.

I've just given it one more try. After that I surrendour to the wonderful prospect of (almost) another 24 months of time wasting and hassle with your company with all its evils.
  • And people complain about '3'!!

Got a phone call from VF this morning, I'm now in the upgrade 'window' with my contract expiring in March. I informed the guy that there was little chance of me renewing it!

I see in the paper that VF are going to be spending a chunk of the money they've made from selling Verizon on upgrading their network, and of course 4G was mentioned. Yep, that's what I assumed, even although the 3G coverage is pathetic!!

But I'm almost certainly off to a company which has already invested in it's 3G network. Ok, they get slated for their CS but can it really be much worse than VF's??

  • Anyone have an email address for Vodafone please? I have ha no signal in my house for days and I Can't find one on the website and after trying nearly all day to get someone on live chat, I finally managed about 20 mins ago only to be told he couldn't help and would arrange a call back for me then promptly the chat was ended before I could tell him I couldn't have a call back as I have no signal!!
I'm at loss at what to do, my dads away and I'm handling all his business and have already missed a booking for him and potentially lost a contract as noone could get hold of me and I can't keep in touch with any of my family/friends.
Totally fed up with vp, nothing but problems from start of contract, am more excited about coming up to the end of my contract than my daughter is about Christmas.
Sorry about the rant, any info on how to get in touch would be gratefully recieved
  • Assuming that the mobile works perfectly well when away from your home, you should go to the VF forum. I can't remember what it's called, but there's a section for reporting signal/connection problems, you might even find that the problem is already listed there.

A big thank you to the long suffering Lee who called me at home to apologise for the bad customer service. He upped my compensation to £50 for my troubles, too.

He called at home on the landline. Later, when out and about, I got the voicemail saying he would call my landline. At the time of his call my mobile was in my pocket but had not rung; calls went straight to voicemail. I didn't even get the voicemail alert until I was in an area with proper coverage (unlike my home).

So I have got my PUK code and am moving to a service provider who will enable me to receive calls in my home. I am so annoyed that Vodafone is penalising me for this by charging me about £300 for a contract that doesn't work. I have spoken to a few service providers and they say contract prices drop after the xmas so I will sort it out then. I am taking the insurance money to pay them off. Lee couldn't help me with that, he said.

Good luck, Lee. I really appreaciated your call but even if I forgive Vodafone the latest mistakes I have decided that the contract just doesn't work for me.

Thank you to all at MSE who run the boards. It is great having a place to vent some ire.
  • ..it would seem. I've found Vodafone customer service to be disappointing, disparate, defensive and generally defunct, just to cover the d's!! Ironically, I only switched to Vf from O2 due to buying a phone locked to Vf, then made what I thought was a relatively simple request to unblock my phone from Vodafone and also to switch my contract sim to PAYG, having moved abroad and planning to use phone with a foreign sim.
56 days later still waiting...of which 35 were with no service whatsoever, my account having been mistakenly cancelled. Along the way I've enjoyed £50/3.5hrs worth of calls to customer services from abroad, to an estimated 6 departments in what seems to be as many countries, maybe 20 customer service 'advisors', being argued with several times, being PROMISED calls/emails back within 45min, 2 hrs, a day...(obviously nothing), being told by 'worrying Giuseppe' that I had a new iPhone 5 at one stage (that I didn't) and that I would be charged £36/month from now on, leading to me cancelling my direct debit (Vf informed), to now being hounded relentlessly by a debt collection agency, to eventually finding by chance 12 days later my phone back online (I had given up checking daily, nobody bothered to let me know it was reconnected), to being told my complaint letter had not been received (now having seen some posts on here I am highly sceptical), to being ASSURED that the debt collection agency would be updated/informed of my reduced bill 3 days ago (2 calls, 1 voicemail, 1 text just today)...so it goes on, just APPALLING!

I think I've made the mistake of saying now all I want to do is leave Vodafone and now feel like I'm going around in circles...

The Indian chaps at least managed to get me my PAC now I'm connected again, Lee (or anyone!), any chance of being able to finally unblock my phone now?? 2nd complaint letter resent today in hope...

    Thanks in advance!!
