Cannot make phonecalls or receive them today - apparently there is a problem with some vodafone payg phones, and mine is one of the affected ones. No timescale given for this to be fixed

WEll rang the number you suggested, seems vodafone are now blaming me!!!!! when I first cancelled the contract I was told by email I'd get a bill for the final amount in December, thats the bill I paid, contract ended on 2/12, bill arrived on the 23/12, put a cheque in and posted it off. But oh no, theyre saying even tho I didn't have the bill I'd been told by them I'd be getting, no I needed a crystal ball because according to them I should have paid it even though I didn't have the bill!!!! I said I did once I got the bill as I'd already been told to!!!!
Then she said she'd contact the liason team, she comes back to me and says the liason team didn't know it had been paid!!!! Well, says me, funny that because according to the email I'd got off Heidi on thursday the liason team had been back in touch with her and said it was sorted and I'd hear nothing more!!!!!!
And here's the thing thats really got me mad, its going on my record for 6 years!!!! I've done nothing wrong and end up with this???? I'm going to CAB because this can't be right.

  • Another unimpressed Vodafone customer !

I have been a loyal customer of Vodafone for many years now but decided to look around for a better deal as it seems loyalty gets you nothing these days ! My current contract with them was only on a rolling months notice and so I wrote to them to cancel. They wrote back notifying me this would take place on 10/1/11 but asking me to contact them with the usual promise of a better deal. Long and short of it is that on 28/12/11 I verbally agreed to a new contract - SIM only deal for 600mins, 1GB data (12 mnth agt) for £15.50 incl vat. At this point I was happy with Vodafone - sadly this did not last !

On 12/1/12 the paperwork detailing the agreement arrived in the post however several key aspects of the agreement did not reflect our verbal agreement, namely only 500MB data, a 24 mnth agt and for £20.50!
I immediately phoned the customer services team to highlight the discrepancy and was very unhappy with the response received. He quibbled with my right to terminate although I said I had 7 days to cancel and had only received the paper work that day. I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was reused. After much time on hold etc I was finally told it would be cancelled and I would revert back to my original agreement. This cancellation would apparently take 24 hours to down-load through their system and then if I wanted to proceed with my original intention to cancel I would have to give ANOTHER months notice to cancel the original agreement.
I unhappy accepted this although do feel a little aggrieved that I am forced through this process when they were at fault mis-selling to me in the first place.
So I emailed through the Contact Us web facility to cancel my original agreement - had more than enough of Vodafone now - and suprise, suprise, today I have received a response saying that I have to pay them a Early Termination Fee of just over £390 !!!!! It appears the promise of cancellation of the mis-sold agreement has not been carried out despite assurances given !!! At the time I did ask for written confirmation and was told it's on the system there's no need to worry !!! Sadly nothing could be further from the truth - it seems in dealing with Vodafone there is every reason to !!

NEVER EVER EVER agree to ANY deal with Vodafone over the phone. This happens quite a lot and there is no reason to think it will change. They aren't the only culprits, so make it a GOLDEN RULE with ALL offers over the phone. If you can't get confirmation IN WRITING BEFOREHAND, do NOT agree to ANYTHING!

Couldnt agree more! Theyve been promising me a letter to confirm that I owe nothing, it still hasn't arrived, mind you considering they are now claiming that they wrote to me about the bill when they didn't I'm not surprised. Of all the people that I've spoken to over this this is the first time they've tried to say they wrote to me!

Its the fact its gone on my credit record that I'm really angry about.

  • I'm not impressed with Vodafone at all. forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/SureSignal-Not-Working-on-our-IP-Range/td-p/937079/ 2 months on and STILL no resolve.

Hopefully one of the reps that post here can look into it...
