In honesty? I havn't a clue how much i've spent :S im thinking around £300 in total.
This includes a denim jacket which will be very much loved over the spring.
I am however reallly looking forward to my 'free' shopping trip on Sunday, where I will spill everything ive brought but not declare as its from my holiday spending money which i never spent. Going to be very careful with it though. I want to tick a few vital boxes with the money. i.e I need a couple of new bras (yep another who needs bras lol) im very lucky though, (well kind of) I have fairly average size boobs (which are really not fair, at a size 16/18 i deserve big ones!!) so I am able to buy my bras from Primark which might not be everybodies cup of tea, but i think there quite nice and are like £5 they are FAIRLY long lasting too. Need a couple of pairs of leggings. Another work cardy some new work tops etc etc. Need to make the most out of this money, but ive decided to continue with my enjoyment of quality over quantity :) I am spluring but not wasteing :) this is going to make the rest of my challange easier.

So... im a 3rd way through my allowance... and only a 1/4 way through the year. Im no mathmatician but that doesnt sound good lol.

It has been a while since I have posted on here, but thought I would drop in with an update.

Not spent anything more since the £12 at the beginning of the year, and I have kept everything included - because it is the small bits that tend to tip me over.

Heading towards a spend though. My work shoes are starting to look a bit tatty so am going to have to bite the bullet soon, and we go away in a month or so, and whilst I am hoping I have enough options available in the wardrobes (and crammed under the beds and in the drawers) I suspect I will need at least one or two new bits.

For the last couple of months though I have been following the idea to wear some of your nicer things - the ones that I always used to "save for best", and it has really helped the non spending to have "new" clothes to wear every now and then.
Debt Free since Nov 11 (ish) (except the £118000 mortgage :o) as at Jan 2013 but still hanging around DFW as I need to Stay On Track.

    Hello lovely ladies,

apologies for yet another long absence :o

HAPPY NEW CLOTHES :jto all who have them ( & BAGS & BELTS etc ;))

Thanks for the reminder debbiedeejay & yes, you're quite right about the rules of the original challenge which I decided should not include essential clothing.

This year ( not sure how we got to be on year 3 ) I thought it would be more appealing if everyone chose their own allowance & which items to include. Admittedly this was largely due to my own change in circumstances, the fact that I dont want to be seen as militant old miser :

And, I was desperate to get Shoe Gal & eco on board :D - who both gave me a very decisive "No way " when I originally proposed the idea of the challenge over on the Single & In Debt thread way back in the day ... Ha ha, gotcha :p:D

I did my seasonal clothes swap over & clear out last weekend & it took hours. I have ejected more stuff to go to charity/ebay/carboot & also donated a few items to DDs.

The only fabby new thing I've succumbed to recently is a luscious looking River Island bag off ebay. Original price was £19.99, I had £8 in my paypal account from survey earnings so only have £11.99 to declare. I will be getting 70p Quidco cashback from that transaction too :)

I have received a list form the school of all the clothes that DD will need to take on the residential trip in June ... _pale_. I'm hoping we have most of it already & then when that's sorted I need to investigate the cost of High School uniform ...

    bye for now
    xx

I'm still here too and still being quite restrained and staying out of the clothes shops

Think I'll do a clothes swap over shortly to see what I have for the slightly warmer weather and what I should really chuck, charity shop and sell from both winter and summer selections

I have plans to do a big sort out over the Easter weekend - seems a long time since I had my summer stuff out!

    Glad to hear it :T

I was amazed at how many summery clothes I have ( & still need to shrink into ... )

Hi there - longtime (well since the start of the year lol!) lurker here. Still haven't bitten the bullet to officially join but I do keep tabs on this thread. I was just wondering how many folks separate out their summer/winter wardrobes and actually do a physical swap of clothes (storing the non-season elsewhere)? I have never done this and just have all my clothes in the wardrobe / draws all year round.

The closest I come is to get my winter coats dry cleaned and hung up in the spare room when the weather gets warmer so they don't clutter up the hallway as much.

Unfortunately TM Lewin summer coats are fab :/ so have hung them up to look at and dither about while I decide if they really deserve a place in my wardrobe.

I do need something smarter to wear in summer as I tend to wear dresses rather than suits, but my little corduroy blazers won't really cut it for work. But shouldn't really spend £200+ when redundancies have just been announced. On the other hand, my project is probably OK and should hear more next week so perhaps they can just wait a bit longer.

Of course if I was being really clever I could return one, then buy it again using the £10 off when you spend £100 voucher that came with the delivery...
