Lula I just keep thinking £50 is a quarter of my budget and daren't spend anything in case I see a really good bargain later in the year and I either won't be able to buy it or fail the challenge, and I'm determined to do it. Going to give my sis a hoody that I like but think it fits her better, so I'm not gaining clothes while trying to thin them out a bit.

  • ..sorry that its been so long folks - but wishing to declare £12 for DD ski jacket.. its been a hard week - w.machine broke down (..its been on the way out for about 6weeks - but still a bit startling when it "shorted" everything else on its way!) and to cap that .... broke down on the middle lane of the motorway last monday - had to call 999 as car didnt even have enough power for hazard lights.. thankfully(??) was just on the mouth of a roundabout so allegedly the other vehicles should be slowing down - SHEEEESH!!!!

Anyways - still here to tell the tale of which I am thankful.. :o

  • OK have ordered some more matching pants to the bras I bought earlier in the month, so another £23.20 to add to the total. This means that I'm half way though my budget and a quarter through the year

This is OK though, I have bought most of the things that I need, and leaves me with £22.50 a month for the rest of the year (unless I'm very cunning is some way I have yet to dream up!). I need to start thinking of it in these terms, otherwise I don't stand a chance!

Either way, this has made a massive difference to my monthly budgetting, so even if I don't make it it's been a huge help in changing my spending/thinking

  • Evening All:)

Went into M & S at weekend and wait for it .................I picked up

    1 black bra @ £3 reduced from £20ish
2 matching knickers @ £2 each from £8 ish each
    2 packs of lacy thongs £2 each from £10 each(for DD2 & 3)
1 full length black slip @£5 from £25

    Total £16 a total saving of £65!

Everything going swimmingly into the bag at the check out..... but gets to the bra and the assistant kindly checks the bra tag against the hanger - and of course its the wrong size - says to me "it happens lots of times - have a look again to see if you can find right size and don't worry about the Que ,just come straight back to me.

So off I trot and start wading through the sale stuff ...again..... and the assistant did come plus it was busy in the shopand help me and after 5 minutes I just turned to her and said

"you know what? I can't be bothered to look any more do you mind if I leave the other stuff too as it matched and that's what I wanted" and she was lovely about it - no problem at all, quiet understood.

So total spent ZERO:T-money saved £16 (or even £81 if you look at it in a different way):T

Amazing how just ten minutes walking away can make a difference.....and still no spends woohoo!

  • Hi all. Hope you're all doing well. Have been keeping track of my clothing spends on my phone but just realised I'd forgotten a few things, it's so easy. Anyway, I have to declare £9 on a blue tweed type jacket from TK Maxx, love it and price tag says 140 Euros so feel I have got a bargain. Also, spent two whole pounds on a New Look bikini, it is damaged but should be easy enough to repair so I thought it was worth £2 for the top and bottom. Mum bought me a bikini too but I'm being cheeky and not declaring it, although I keep track of everything so that I can see just how much I've acquired at the end of the year. Have two pairs of shoes on eBay to try to give me some credit for paying next month's credit card bill, or there will be more to declare. Aargh!

Was a bargain when I got it in 1999 - orig price £11.99, reduced to £6.99 but when I got to the till it was £3!! wearing with a black v neck tshirt, 'nude' tights and little black shoes.

blooming shoes are cutting into my other bunion tho':rotfl:
