I'm thinking I'm gonna pull out of this challenge Lula - for a couple of reasons

    1. have given up smoking & put weight on so recently had to go up 2 sizes, am now trying to diet & exercising but that took a huge chunk out of my alloted budget

    2. I did stick to it last year & came in under budget which was fantastc but there's only so long second hand clothes will last!

and 3. I am no longer in debt and while I'm trying to still be frugal, shop around for things & of course continue to be frugal I don't need to be as restrictive as I was l;ast yeart

I'm still going forth with my knowledge of how to get the things I want off of ebay for a fraction of the price and getting things in the sale out of season - for example oday rdered off of the office sale 1 pair of winter boots (leather), 1 pair of gladiator sandles & 1 pair of flats total cost £63 pre sale cost £215!!!

I wish you all the best with this - I had such a blast with it last year x

    Hi determined new ms

sorry for such a long delay in replying - have been having a 'mare of a week & not posting much.

I've just read back through the last few pages & caught your post.

First of all I'd like to say HUGE CONGRATULATIONS on quitting smoking :T:j:T.

It took me 3 attempts to stop & although I now know I'm safe & nothing would induce me to ever do that again; I too gained a size or 2 & still havent managed to shift them. That's more to do with laziness & overeating than anything though & I'm no on the case ;).

You've been a brilliant member & we'll miss you but even more congratulations for clearing the debt :T:A:T.

You're an inspiration to us all :D & I wish you all the happiness you deserve for your hard work in clearing debt & battling your tobacco addiction. You are indeed F* Fabulous

    xx

Afternoon all - here is the lowdown of my spends for this weekend. I am now sadly over this months target :(

    I have brought:

Next Sandals - these should have been £30 but I had the £10 contribution from my OH so £20

    Current £200

Jacket and work top £25. - voucher used for these - cost £0.. Jacket alone should have cost £24.99 woohoo.

So clothes is now on £200 -

Brought loads of other bits and bobs for the hol tho :( hopefully have a week of minimal spends now :)

    Hi NGlady2 -

you do seem to do rather a lot of shopping, are you short of clothes or is it as you said, a way to fill the time ? How about each time you feel the urge to go shopping you go for a walk instead & that might help beat the craving. Do you have a garden you could start to grow stuff in or how about a craft activity ?

Is there something quite expensive that you are yearning for ? or a holiday you could save for instead; so that each time you manage not to buy an item that you really dont need, you could then put the money you didn't spend in a pot to save towards the big thing.

Try it for one month & see how much you actually SAVE :D

Lol - I used to be the same years ago with my ex , total footy widow all weekend , and thought having 3 girls would mean no footy ever but no , I now spend every weekend on the side line watching DD2 & DD3 play for their town and usually watch some game on the telly too!

Still only know the basics but I totally love it - go and watch a local ladies side play the game - it puts footy in a different light!

Mind you the game was cancelled at the weekend so ahhhem yes we went girly shopping inc primani and I have to report I only bought a skinny belt (£1) in the sale and a pair of summery PJ's for (£7)to replace some that are wayyyy past it but don't have to declare as not on Lula-Hula's original list. woohoo!

DD's on the other hand bought a plenty to take them through Spring/Summer season (mind you it was their money not mine) - some great stuff about but funnily enough I had more fun looking for them and I just didn't need anything.

Now off to declutter DD3 wardrobe to make room for stuff she has bought.

I have decided next weekend I have an already planned trip which cant really be changed to avoid shopping - but i will try very hard to minimize it :)

I don't really have any need to shop - thats whats the stupid thing, I have plenty of stuff. Perhaps some new work tops as changed my style at work to be a little less formal.

Weekend after I am going to spend it - Ebaying and swishing and generally having a great clear out :) Then weekend after I am off on my Jols.

Somebody suggested to me once - if I can afford to go shopping I can afford to save. So, for every £ they spent in the clothes shops they transfered a £ to their savings, soon didnt have much money for shopping!! I do always save some on payday tho aswell :)

I am going to make an effort to attend a match with him sometime see if I like it :) just make sure I dont shout for wrong colour lol.
