Don't forget its Freedom Monday again tomorrow

Free your clothes from your wardrobe that you don't wear - why not? Give them a try (and bags and shoes and boots and anything else- scarves, necklaces etc etc)

My freedom outfit is going to be some boots I haven't worn for ages and a coat I haven't worn for at least a year :D
yeah go freedom monday......only going out for a swim so today have worn 2 outfits....1 to a 90th birthday lunch using a very old skirt with new top (never worn ) and really old pair of boots:)....going dancing tonight so wearing new cami under not so new shrug with last years bargain skirt(£100 down to £18 :))
I am going shopping on tuesday so will try to "find" a new outfit to go in.
my problem is feet:(....awful wide odd sized arthritic ones including a big toe with pins that are cold from inside in cold weather and hurt:(....apart from that!!!!! so summers are fine when I can wear sandals but winters are somewhat painful and boots not good (or are good depending on your point of view!)for trying clothes on:rotfl: and what coat to wear as need to be warm at p and r site but shops are always too hot!

How hard is this challenge? and why on earth did I think it was a good idea looking on the Animal website, I'm sat here trying to justify spending £35 on some trainers, and I can't use the excuse mine are worn out I have 6 pairs already, if I buy them I will be £50 into my budget and it isn't even February, I knew this would be tricky.

I know it doesn't help but I'm finding it really hard too :(
Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!

It's not even got to the end of the month and I am already over 1/3 of my budget down!!!!

I need to declare spends of £104.90 against my target of £300. For that I got 2x cardigans and a shirt from the monsoon sale (55.40 total) and three tops in debenhams (one manteray top at £13.5 in the sale).

I really don't have any summer clothes - my summer wardrobe is my winter clothes minus the cardi! I am going on holiday in two weeks and all of the clothes bought will see me well in to spring/summer.

I have also been tackling my basket of clothes that need mending. I have 4 pairs of black trousers that need some sort of sewing machine repair. I had hoped to do them today but it may have to wait to tomorrow evening or next weekend.

I am loving the freedom monday idea. I will definately join you in this tomorrow. This will definately incude different jewellery as I wear the same pieces every day!

Right - better get on with my long list!

    urg x x

p.s There may be some more spends to declare next week when my M&S order comes through.
  • I've had a Freedom Sunday. Wore black trousers I've had for a year and never worn and my new Laura Ashley sale top for pub lunch. Have to declare £19 though on Per Una sale top.

Ooh, that's a good idea. I'm a bit limited in what I can wear on Freedom Mondays as the clothes that don't see the light of day aren't generally appropriate for work. But I rarely wear jewellery, though there's plenty on my pinboard!

No spends to declare. Though still hankering after something bright blue. I just haven't seen it yet (avoiding the shops!).

  • :wave:Hello Everyone,

Sorry haven't posted for a while - but I have been reading everyone's posts when I could.

Anyway still no spends so my original £100 is still intact:D - well for January anyway and I won't be going near any shops tomorrow so that's ok.

I did buy a pair of much needed "base"/thermal leggings for work/walking/sitting in freezing house at £6 but my DD3 has taken a like to them so I suppose I might be able to borrow them off her once in a while  - Wouldn't mind but I never even got chance to try them on.

So up to now I know this year I need to raid my wardrobe (sorry boutique) for a evening wedding invite in the Summer and for a friends 40th birthday weekend in London also in Summer ( I am trying to keep most of my budget to "take" with me then but I doubt I will) and possibly for a weekend to Brighton.

Freedom Monday sounds brilliant but unfortunately I can't take part in this - have to wear a strict uniform, especially taking care of what I wear on my feet/footwear choice so with this in mind I shall take part on my day off each week - in fact I did it on Friday, wearing a pair of little ditsy teal satin heel shoes with the most floppiest cutest bow on the front.

I have to admit to having these in my wardrobe for probably over three years, bought in Primani for the pricely sum of £6 ish ,still tagged together with that little plastic thing - I just never got to wear them - but now I have -whoppee!

Plus I wore a bright bold flower graphic satin top, one that I put in the charity/boot sale pile ages ago and I thought I would give it an outing again and it was great - not sure whether now to put it back in the drawer or the CB pile!.

Hope the shoe shopping goes ok Rosemary 54 - its always hard and I know you had problems finding shoes last year so when you find the perfect pair - buy two more pairs in different colours and stash them away :)

Am off to do the ironing now - something a year ago I dreaded but its all part of helping me keep up the challenge.

Have fun tomorrow all those doing Freedom Monday :)

    Freedom Monday

    Tomorrow's outfit

    Usual green skirt, usual jumper.
Different coat, boots not worn for ages, bag used last week for first time in ages
Different earrings and necklace - just trying to unknot a necklace not worn for I don't know how long

Make up - hmmm maybe primer, foundation, blusher, light eye shadow and perfume - or maybe not!

Go on - use something you don't normally. Just one thing - even a cardie any jewellery - anything at all!

    Can I join too please?

I would like to be put down for £730 (£2/day). That will include everything (shoes, accessories, undies, pjs, work clothes etc etc!)

I know it sounds like a lot, but I did a proper wardrobe audit today (even made a list of everything in there!) and have discovered I have more than enough shoes/bags but am short on clothes I like/fit me. I've lost nearly 2 stone over the last year and have another stone to go, so the wardrobe will need a lot of re-stocking hence the high number.
