far too cold to brave the 2 hour round trip on park and ride to town so back to wardrobe shopping for me:A

hoping to go and see the kings speech tomorrow so dont need to dress up too much as will be in the dark:rotfl:
  • I'm very impressed with all you restrained people :A I am here to learn from you!

I don't have spends to declare (yet!) but I do have new clothes to share!

As I said in an earlier post, I got a little over excited in the howies sale - lots of things reduced to 30% of original price. Most of what I bought is sportswear so not in my totals (thankfully ;)), but I got:
    Merino running leggings £29
    Merino thermal £19
Board shorts £9 (will be lovely for surfing in June)

I also ordered a pair of shorts which are going back, and a pair of jeans which I will declare if I keep them. The jeans I bought because they were the really good quality Japanese denim and my current loose fit jeans are now a little too loose (gym membership is taking effect :)) so the new ones are a size smaller (thinking of selling the old ones on ebay).

But because you're meant to wear the denim in they're really stiff, and I'm generally not totally convinced. I'm giving myself the weekend to consider and then they may go back with the shorts on Monday.

Also I decided last night to keep a running tally of all my clothes spends, so that I can shock myself a little when I'm thinking about spending. I shocked myself plenty when I wrote it last night so I think it's going to help a lot!

Wow, everyone is being so good :A

Loving the sound of merino running leggings karmachi :)

I had to go the dreaded Tatco today as poor DD complained at how tight the neck is & how short the sleeves are on her shirt ... turns out it's an age 6-7 so tightness not all that surprising considering that she's 11 :rotfl:. Cant say we havent had any wear out of that shirt ;).

Found a couple of the nice pintuck shaped ones at £4 each & then she spotted some lovely herringbone style tweed school shorts with turn ups & a lovely stretchy belt. I struggle to get her in a skirt with tights, but she fell in love with these shorts & at only £8 I agreed to by them. when I got home & checked through my receipt I discovered they were reduced in the sale & only £2.25, Result :j

So, that's another £10.25 to come off my budget.

Im not even interested in buying any more clothes for me at the moment as I'm totally focused on debt & size reduction. I am however, seriously lacking in nice leather belts so not sure where the best place to try for cheap ones is, previous forays to charity shops have only provided synthetic ones. Any suggestions will be welcome :D
  • hi everyone, just popping on to say nothing to report, but this marvellous challenge has been the kick I needed to REALLY evaluate my wardrobe!

so I am on the hunt for a plain black cardigan and a skirt of some sort to go with all the lovely tops I have (and which currently have nothing to go with other than my thin jeans which I don't fit in at the moment!)

keep up the good work :T

They are lovely - so comfy. I have been waiting for them to be reduced for ages (original £90 ) , I had to go a size down because they were out of my size, but there's plenty of stretch there so it's all good!

Charity shops have always been a good source of nice leather belts for me. Certainly I'd recommend going vintage - better quality for the price. eBay's always a good place to look for second hand.

  • USed up my £44 voucher in M&S today. Spent some of it on food, some on clothes and ended up with a surplus of £12 to pay.

Bought 2 reduced Per Una blouses with it.

Had terrible week so not feeling guilty at all. So glad to have got rid of the voucher at last!

Hello...I'm still lurking in the background and thinking I should join...however, I must confess I'm just back from the States (business trip but stayed on over the weekend) where I must've spent about £100 on clothes

    Broken down this includes

1 x black strapless bra - fits beautifully and is COMFORTABLE! doesn't have those horrible wire bits at the side that always dig into my armpits. Although it's a size larger on the back than I'd normally buy a strapless but the reviews said (and were right) that they came up small

1 x nude t-shirt bra with a little clip to turn it into a racerback - haven't seen anything like that here and it's tons more comfy than the ones you can convert via a crossover (that always make my shoulders ache no matter how slack the straps are)

1 x paid of skinny jeans - same style as a pair I bought last time but I can wear these to work (and did so today - the others are ripped/distressed)

3 x basic tops/t-shirts...ok didn't really need these but came to £17 in total

1 x cami top - again, didn't desparatly need but was $15 in the sale and cute for summy

1 x hoodie - $30 in the sale (reduced from $60) - ok, this was pure indulgence cos I liked it.

Oh goodness..that does seem a lot now I look at it

NGlady2 - what did you decide about the dresses? Personally (although don't judge my by my above list :o) i'd try and just choose one of them because I bet there is one you really prefer to the others and would wear the most out of all 4....

I should know better than to fall into the trap of convincing myself that something bought in the sale is actually saving money instead of costing anything but...from the online Kookai sale...

Merino wool jumper down from £49 to £19
Two pima cotton T-shirts down from £15 each to £5 each

And I got complimented on the jumper in work today so it was worth it!:)

OK, joined this great Clothing Challenge and also the Payment-a-Day Challenge at the start of the year, and I'm going to have a go at combining the two. I can't buy any clothes unless I pay the same amount into the PAD Challenge. What have I done?!! :)

  • Well went into town today and didn't buy anything I didn't need :j just some toiletries and a pot of honey.

I also went to the library to get the book that ellenmelonx recommended (thanks for that), and because the library is closing for refurbishment for 3 weeks I get to keep hold of it till mid- March :money:
