Hi all, will be keeping an eye on this thread, as I did last year, but won't be taking part in the challenge as I know I won't make it. The thread was a great read last year and I'm glad to see it's continuing this year. Best of luck to everyone who's trying to make it!!0

Morning!
NGlady, I would say get up to two of the dresses. I think that getting ready for the summer is fine but I've got just bought some brilliant summer stuff in Monsoon for 70% off. What I'm trying to tell myself is that, while it's fun to buy more beautiful stuff, it means that the beautiful stuff that you have doesn't get worn. I'm not trying to preach, I'm a terrible shopaholic!
And to everyone with over-knee boots, I've decided there's nothing wrong with a bit of attention! Go girls!Clothes challenge 2011 £254.08/£500!!!Toiletries challenge 2011 Trying!:j:T:j0 -
Good evening ladies,
Well I can say - no spends for me today
HOWEVER I am having a little Dilema - both of the whether it is cheating and whether I should face facts its still January and therefore winter allbeit I wish it wasnt.
I have been perving at the clothes on the newlook website - the day dressestheres about 4 I absoloutly love
now financially, I can afford them - I have some newlook vouchers they gave out in January (I brought a cheapo top so i would get given these and returned the top
) and some vouchers from work so I could buy 4 gorgeous dresses which are extremely me for the grand price of £60...
Now... I have the money left from my January payday - and I said I would start my challange on payday 28th.. I would be buying these before the 28th on my little mid week weekend away. But I dont half feel like I am cheating - and I am wondering whether I could cope on £20 left on clothes for the whole month!! Including valentines
Can you believe, I was in bed last night on my netbook perving at dresses at 20 to midnight?! Maybe i've got withdrawals already, or im dreaming of sunnier climates
So - ladies of the jourey ... what do I do?
Do I
B: I have a £12 voucher coming from work - do I use the smallest newlook freebie-voucher i've got and just add £8 to get one of said dresses....
I'd do B,try them all on and pick the one that looks best on you.it would take me a long time to get the wear out of 4 dresses(I only have 2 day dresses that are both a few years old!)
maybe you could change the look with shrugs/cardis/scarves?0 -
just watched last nights Gok....OMG does he really think it is agood idea to buy a waxed jacket and then cut it so it ends just below the armpits????!!!!!! hardly going to keep a girl warm(esp as he teamed it with shorts...........in winter:eek:) think he has lost the plot a bit here:rotfl:I am all for good ideas to use to change /update stuff I have but wish he would do a bit more for "normal" women not just 7 foot tall stick insects( esp as he did a show about real women not so long ago, seems to have taken a backward step:(....trying to imagine a 5 foot size 18 50+ in shorts/cut off jacket /thick white socks and silly hat:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:not a good look0

Hello everyone well the first month is almost over and I've still not bought anything but with a budget of less than £10 a month I can't really afford to buy anything. I have enough for the winter so the plan is to hold on to my money so I can treat myself to some nice new things in the summer hopefully I would of lost a bit of weight by then.0

Hi All,
I Have just been reading about the clothes challenge. I recycle my clothes for cash. Last week i paid £50 off my credit card bill. At the rate I'm going I can pay my bill off in the next 6 months. I am getting all my friends and family to clear out there wardrobes, I then take them to my local Cash4Clothes.co.uk branch and get paid cash for them straight away. I don't know who invented the idea but i think its great. Good Luck everyone :j0 -

Thanks for that... it's only 80p reserved in the library like I just didIt's what I do with clothes now. Hold on to them and carry them around for a while. Or leave the shop without them and see how much I obsess over them.
I do that too!
No further spends for me despite wandering through the shops on the way home today - I just haven't seen much I like. It's not worth buying more really winter stuff now and I'm not really in summer mode yet. Maybe wardrobe shopping would be just the thing, then I can figure out if there's anything I do really need for summer.
